I’ve been to this salon a handful of times over the past… well, a long time. I’ve never had a bad haircut or gotten a rude stylist at this salon. And yesterday I was able to book a same day appointment and have my hair washed/​cut/​styled by Sheena. She did a fantastic job. she didn’t need much explaining to understand the cut and style I wanted, at all. I got exactly what I wanted without any fussing. She was very warm and friendly, I felt comfortable with her/​having her work on my hair almost immediately. Next time I need a cut I’ll go right back. :)

Got a haircut and partial highlights here last year with a groupon. They automatically charged me an extra $ 20 because I had hair that was shoulder length. For that reason, I won’t be going back, even though the location is actually very convenient for me.

I went to Kristen today with the Groupon and loved her, definitely going to her from now on. Talkative and very nice. I liked her better than my previous hair dresser (who i also liked). I got a trim, my dead ends off, redid my long layers.

Potential Grouponers BEWARE: you are trash! At least this is how I felt after using my Groupon here.
When I first called to make an appointment I had requested a couple of specific people after reading the Unilocal reviews and was told that one of them didn’t accept Groupons. I thought this was odd since it is the same business, but didn’t think twice about it.
Then, I show up at least 10 minutes early for my appointment and my stylist was pretty late. I started to get the feeling this appointment was going to be interesting and I was right. After a short while in the stylists chair, she brings up how people who use Groupons will sometimes stiff her on tips. Then we had a long conversation about this. I didn’t know what else to say or do, because I was there to try out this place through a Groupon. I am always a generous tipper and had planned on giving her more than 20% for the TOTAL services (pre-​discount) before I had even met her. I know that people in the service industry work hard and are under appreciated.
When all is said and done, I don’t feel like she listened to what I wanted but I am not scoring this place on the fact that I am not pleased with my results. I have rarely found a stylist that fixes my hair the way I want. My score is strictly on the customer service. The place is clean and looks up to date and that is what I am scoring. The other three stars are missing because I felt the stylist was unprofessional and insulted me. Not every Groupon customer is looking for a deal to stiff you on your tip, but I think most people wouldn’t have tipped the appropriate amount because some would consider it sub-​par treatment with an attitude like that. No one is forcing you to offer Groupons and you should stop if you don’t like these customers.
If you are paying full price then you are probably fine, but I have come to realize (the hard way) that these places offer Groupons for a reason. Usually, the services offered aren’t that great anyway. I think I have finally learned my lesson.

I used the Groupon and had the stylist Kristen for hair cut and highlights — LOVED IT! Kristen is a sweetheart and is very down to earth. I have naturally black hair and got caramel highlights. It is literally the best highlights i have had in the past 6 years. I have definitely found a new permanent hair stylist. I am sometimes hesitant to use Groupons but this one really worked out.

I have only ever had Sheena as a stylist at Image Hair Studio, so the four stars is based on her coloring, cutting, and styling ability. Sheena has always done a great job with my hair. I have never felt rushed or unhappy. She works with me and always offers to correct anything I am not 100% happy with. She is able to meet any of my requests, including ombré, side cuts, and anything out of the ordinary. She is realistic about what can be done, and how many visits it may take to reach achieve a look (think dark brown to blonde without killing your hair).
I don’t even mind that the salon is out of the way for me, since I live in down town Baltimore and I trek out to a tiny strip mall in Ellicott City to get my hair done. The building is a bit dated from the outside, but there is always parking and I have found the hours to be accommodating and the prices to be reasonable. The space on the inside is pretty nice, so I would call and get an appointment with Sheena.

I was given a Groupon for this place by my cousin, and had high hopes after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed! I got Sheena, and she was fantastic! She gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. She was very methodical and thorough with the cut and styling, and made sure I got what I wanted. All of the staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is welcoming and stylish. I’ve found my hairdo go-​to.

So I bought a grouon and tried this disaster place, Joan was friendly, smiling and felt like she was listening to me. But she got done in like 10 mins without even parting my hair or cutting the layers at all. She did not even offer to blow dry and was like you are done as if she was rushing. Also in between the cut, her previous client was unhappy so had to go resolve that. And seems pretty rude behavior and rushed with me. She never had a courtesy to ask for if I like my cut or not. And when i asked her how long was her employment, she said only 7 months while I asked for some senior person. Completely horrible service. Just looks fancy but they don’t have basic courtesy. Do not buy a groupon they are completely rip off. They charge a lot if you have little length and volume.

Let them know what kind of hair cut was that, owner Cheryl said well we cant keep everyone happy since we are in customer service business and she said i am sorry but i have to rush. No sense of apology or any kind of consideration. And my hair cut is all uneven and i have togo now to my regular salon now.

Friendly service. Was talked into (selling strategy to make more) more service then needed… can’t even tell and my haircut was uneven… butchered actually. I called but never got a return call. Looked like a first day student cut

I was highly impressed by the staff at Image Hair Studio. I appreciate how my stylist listened to what I wanted and trimmed my hair without taking too much off.

Went here with a Groupon back in Sept. Erica did a fabulous job and I got lots of compliments on my haircut. I gave Erica free reign on design (after telling her about a few issues) and she found a cut that works way better on my thinning hair. Going back today for a 2^nd cut. Highly recommend!!!

I was referred to Cheryl over ten years ago when I asked for a stylist who would respect long hair. She’s made me more beautiful every year. Cheryl really goes the distance to make a lovely studio space and relaxing experience.

I have gone to Lisa 2x and receive many compliments on the great job on the highlights/​lowlights and cut. She really tries to listen and interpret your vision
