Cosmopolitan Beauty and Tech School

I recently made an appointment with the school to get a haircut and Shampoo & set/​Blow dry/​Style. I was a little nervous in making this appointment because I usually get my hair cut with salons such as Bubbles or Bombshell, but didn’t want to spend an outrageous amount. On the website, the haircut was $ 6, and the Shampoo/​Style was $ 10. When I got there, I was the only client there, and there were about 6 students and 2 supervisors, one of an Asian decent and the other of an African American decent. They make you pay up front, which I didn’t really like. After I paid, the student took me to the back to shampoo my hair. She didn’t speak English, so the supervisor had to translate everything she said. She cut my hair very nicely, but got nervous once the supervisor called the other students to come watch her, and that scared me a little, but she still did a very nice job. The supervisor translated and helped through the process, but the student did it mostly on her own, and cut and layered my hair very well. After they both finished, they asked me how I wanted to have my hair styled. I asked if it was possible to have it styled in a straight way (my hair is wavy). They said it was no problem at all, and they added some mousse to my hair and then started blow drying it. Once they finished drying it… My hair looked like a beehive. They had combed out my curls but I wasn’t worried because they said they would style it to be straight. The other supervisor then came up to the two others (student and supervisor) and asked them if I was paying to get my hair straightened… and that it would cost an additional $ 10. They reiterated this conversation to me, and I was furious. First, they make me pay up front, and then they «style» it to be horrible. The second supervisor kept asking me if I wanted it to be done, and I said it’s okay, I’m not paying extra for something that should already be covered. The student who cut my hair was very sweet and did a great job, but the second supervisor ruined my experience with her attitude and rudeness to the other supervisor. I wanted to get my hair done at Paul Mitchell The School Jessup because I have heard great reviews and my friend was able to get a wonderful haircut AND style but they didn’t have any appointments available, however, in the future, I will be going there.
