If I could give this place zero stars I would. Horribly disorganized restaurant and terrible service. I’m easy to please, and my goodness I’ll never go back.

It has great food and an extremely friendly staff, but they always seem to be a little slow. It gets quite busy here at times as well which takes the food a while to come out, but the atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable.

I have given them more chances then what I should have… the last time I went there drew the line. I made a reservation for my wife’s and mine anniversary, and we showed up and waited 15 minutes to be seated because they never had our table ready, then of course our service was horrible, they acted like deers in headlights. It’s ridiculous and this would be a much better place if they cleaned house and hired people that can take a job seriously.

The rolls are VERY good… BUT… They do not maximize their space. There is a party room the could open up when they are busy, assuming no one has booked it that night. The waitstaff lacks common sense; we had to ask to be put on a list since the hostess did not consider making one herself. The miso soup was luke warm, we never got our edamame, and they didn’t have all the ingredients for the dessert we wanted. Frankly, a new name and location did not change the fact this is still the same old Kubuki with the same old staff. If the rolls weren’t so good, we wouldn’t return. FYI: We went on a Wednesday night, I would hate to see it on a weekend or during a festival. Oh, and when I went to redeem my Unilocal voucher, they had no clue what it was! Instead they ran around the restaurant with my phone. Unacceptable! Two stars are only for their rolls.

The service is terrible. Had to wait 15 min for them to take our order & another half hour for our food to come. The staff isn’t organized at all. A lady tried giving us our check after we already paid LOLLL& $ 6 for green tea but food was decent

Serves was so bad. Food was so slow. Alright here’s the story. So one day. I decide to go there because they are new. I never been there. Ok. When I got there. I don’t know if they are busy or what. I was standing at the door for 5minutes. And no one was going to seated me. Finally some one seated me. After going through the menu. I choose the AYCE. And I ordered a order of mussels. Remember this just one. After I finished my mussels. An old lady just come up and said just take another mussels. I’m like: really. I don’t want another. That’s the first part. I order a roll. I forgot what it’s called but I don’t think it will take 1hour to make that roll. So I sat there and play for on my phone for half hour. And so I decide to go to bathroom Just one minute. When I walk out. All my stuff was gone. And the server even ask me if I still want to eat. I’m like really man? I didn’t eat at all. I didn’t get my roll yet. So I wait for another half hour to get my roll So slow.

Food is tasty and ambiance is cool. Service: Wait staff is friendly, but super slow and scattered. It always seems like their first day at the job(even though it’s always the same people). But this is not uncommon in Elko, where it seems impossible to have dinner in under 90 minutes. Food: Himiko is a nice break from the other gut-busting options in Elko. Expect high variability in the food: I order essentially the same dishes every time… and they are always different in presentation, quantity, and ingredients. However, it is always tasty and fresh. Atmosphere: I really appreciate the care they have put into the space and décor, it’s certainly as hip as it gets in Elko. It always feels quite lively inside, so it’s a nice setup for dinner. It’s well-lit and not too loud, which is awesome for a dinner among colleagues.

I arrived and I was seated, and I ordered and my food came out 40 min later. I ended up watching 8 rounds of a boxing match and some before I got my food. The pork tasted very bland, absolutely no flavor. I ended up just eating half of it and leaving. Most, if not all the employees asked me how it was, but even though they asked, I’m not going to start a debate, I just want to eat my food and get on with life.

There prices were $ 5 – 7 more than big cities and the service is SOOSLOW. We waited 15 minutes for desert and then had to ask. A few of the sushi rolls were shaped more like triangles than rolls. They really need to improve their service. I would not recommend it or go back. The food was okay but not worth the wait! I didn’t even want to rip. Refills on drinks were really slow coming. I would recommend flying fish over these guys everyday. So expensive and slow! Don’t go.

This place has a cool vibe to it. I’ve had sushi there and I’ve ordered sushi to go. I’m glad they still maintained their prices somewhat and offer the same selection(plus some, obviously) as when they were in their old location. Still a bit slow in their service, but it’s fine if you aren’t in a hurry to get somewhere.

Food is great!!! Service is terrible as always. Waited over 20 minutes to place our order after being seated. This is unacceptable and even more irritating during lunch time when patrons have limited time and must return to work. Keep this up and your lunch crowd will soon spend their money somewhere else.

They just opened Monday. I am moving to Elko, NV. It is a Steak and Sushi house. I had the NY strip. Cooked. perfectly. A good selection of whiskey, Japanese and others. I will definitely be eating here a lot.

Seems that all the sushi places in Elko have at least one thing in common. They serve more things than just Sushi. Normally this is a sign that the business just isn’t focused on their sushi enough. Buy way out here in BFE(Bery Far Elko) you need that other facet to the business to stay IN business. One place has Chinese another place has a random assortment of stuff. And now this place has a ton of Japanese to go with the Americanized sushi. And the cool thing is… lots of that«other» stuff is part of the All You Can Eat price of $ 31 for dinner. They had noodles and teriyaki and tempura and desserts and more things than I could sample in one sitting. I broke my newly minted rule of no eating AYCE sushi by myself… but I really wanted to try the new place! And sure enough… I was a beached orca when I left. This place is the nicest sushi restaurant in Elko and would easily be top 3 in Reno when it comes to atmosphere and ambiance. Lots of space and dark colors make this one step above the old Kabuki place that they moved out of. Totally a date night type of place. One thing that is weird is the bar is WAY too deep. I had to stand on the legs of the chair just to get my set up of ginger and soy bowl. Conversely it means you actually have lots of room at the bar for the sushi as it comes. The food was pretty good. The girl that was making mine was overwhelmed at times with lots of orders, but she handled it pretty well. I honestly wouldn’t go back for the nigiri because the rice to fish ratio was a bit heavy on the rice. She did put a good hand roll together and the tobiko with quail egg was really good. I also had some beef Yakisoba which was a nice change of pace… but very filling too, so if you want to get your money’s worth… make for sure you can share this one with at least a couple of people. I will definitely go back, I just need someone to go with me.
