Long time customer of this great Chinese restaurant. As other reviews state, the décor is not exactly 5 but the food is made to order, fresh, consistent and the staff are friendly and there doesn’t appear to be turnover of employees. Our most common choices are general tso chicken(nit skimpy with the broccoli as others in the area are), chicken fried rice(no suspicious mystery ingredients), chicken with broccoli and shrimp lo mein(very nice with fresh shrimp & noodles aren’t nearly as greasy as other restaurants). Crab Rangoon always a good addition(best in the area by far). I read one review wherein they complained about not receiving soy sauce and/or hot mustard in the bag… These are located next to the counter so that you can take what you need(fortune cookies too! Help yourself!) this is a brilliant way for them to keep prices down by not wasting packets that customers don’t necessarily want in every order. I literally pass moys to pick up from this restaurant every time. If you don’t have cash to pay, there’s a no fee ATM at the kwik trip next door.

I stopped at taste of China because I wanted some Asian food. I ordered chicken and broccoli combo plate. I was served a large portion. There was lots of broccoli. And lots of chicken but the chicken was too tender. It was almost mushy. Yuck. The sauce was quite tasteless. The eggroll was dry and tasteless. The crab Rangoon were all right. I felt I owed this review to my fellow Unilocalers. The reviews I read were misleading in my case. The service was fast, friendly and efficient.

I’ve been coming here for atleast 10 years Friendly staff, good selection of food, everyting is made fresh when you order, the inside is bland and not much to see, but you came here for the food and you get a good portion for the price, I choose Taste of China over Moy’s which seems to be the typical«go to» Chinese place in Elkhorn which is more upscale if you will but the food is not as good in my opinion.

We tried Taste of China for the first time this past Friday – and we were not disappointed. One does not typically look for amazing ethnic food in this corner of Wisconsin, but a colleague recommended Taste of China. It’s not really a place where you want to sit and stay – it’s in a store front near the Piggly Wiggly – but take out is fine. In fact our order was ready in about 20 minutes. We ordered eggrolls as well as Chicken with Snow Peas and Kung Pao Chicken. The eggrolls were good, though they forgot to throw any duck sauce or Chinese mustard in our bag. The Chicken with Snow Peas was fresh – the snow peas were bright green and crispy still. The Kung Pao had a nice kick. There was no sign of gelatinas mess that passes for some Chinese restaurants. The place was packed when we got there to pick up dinner – which is another good sign. We will definitely be coming back again.

I love all food… The only thing that can really ruin my day is old food! I can even deal with bland/flaverless, but the last 4 time I ate here the chicken was old. I took it back and the lady up front didnt apologize as if she was used to doing this! YUCK! I WILLNEVERGOBACK!

With limited choices for Chinese in the area taste of china is actually very good. Best crab rangoons I’ve ever had and the owners are very charming.

We prefer the food here to Moy’s which is actually closer to our house. The quality and quantity are great, and this is Chinese food as it should taste. Not much for eating in, but for take-out Chinese it’s the best in town.
