We are eating now and I must say the food is delicious! I had the Traditional Eggs Benedict and my partner had Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. It’s really good and also 2 glasses of Mimosas each! Nice place

The food is overall pretty good here, but their customer service is horrible. I have been here a few times and each time the waitresses have made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. They have no manners and no business being in customer service. I will not be coming back here again!

Showed up at 10:00 am on a Sunday morning and the place was packed. Always a good sign. Table opened up quick. Omelet was good, pancakes were ok. I would say that the food is overall above average, with the drawbacks being slow service both from the wait staff and the kitchen as well.

Wonderful independent café tucked away in an unassuming location. Everything here is made from scratch and made to order… And that takes time. But it’s worth the wait every time. I have only been for breakfast so I cannot review the whole menu. But everything we’ve ordered for breakfast had been delicious. The wild mushroom crepes and any of the eggs Benedict are my favorites. And the seasoned red potatoes are amazing. Especially if you like garlic. I’d skip the Bloody Mary after getting it once. It’s not bad, just nothing special. The service has always been prompt for us. Occasionally less than friendly– not rude, just not smiley– but always professional and observant. This is our go-to breakfast in the area now. Oh. And the Door County pecan roll… Yum. Get that!

If I were rating just on the food I would give them 10 stars but when you factor the service and attitude it brings it down to a three. We finished eating and I asked for a box and it took 30 minutes for box and check.

Dined at Fiddlesticks yesterday for breakfast with my dad. Wasn’t too busy when we arrived around 10, and we were seated immediately. Our server came and took our drink orders, and when we dropped them off we decided order a cinnamon roll to split. It took a little time to reach our table but was worth the wait. Huge, definitely made in house and the cream cheese frosting was divine. I ordered the corned beef hash eggs Benedict, and my dad ordered the strata. Mine was really good, really hardy and flavorful. Home made hash and hollandaise for sure. I didn’t try the strata but my dad said it was also really well done. My only issue would be the décor. Dated décor makes the ambience feel a little tacky, and the small wooden chairs are terribly uncomfortable atop ugly dark carpet. However, the food was great, the service was attentive and the prices for the quality make this place well worth it. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

This place has good food but two flaws — uneven service and a very slow kitchen. Even when the restaurant is only half full it typically takes 30+ minutes after your order is placed for simple things like French Toast and Pancakes. Most of the waitresses here are good but there are a few who display consistently indifferent and/or aloof attitudes and basics like getting a cup of coffee to you can be a ten minute affair. Unfortunately, one of the folks I’m talking about is usually working when we go here for breakfast on Sunday’s so we just keep our fingers crossed that we won’t be seated in her zone. The slow kitchen and service issues look like they’re beginning to take their toll as the restaurant today — a Saturday in late June at the height of the Lauderdale Lakes summer season — was only half full. People have other things to do on nice summer mornings than waiting an hour for pancakes — even if they are good ones. All in all — a good place knocked down a bit by a few easily correctable issues — albeit ones that have existed since its opening years ago. As a side note, my wife and I live in the area and have eaten here 20+ times.

Been here a few times. Nice atmosphere. Decent service. Quality food. Prices alittle high for breakfast compared to competition. I guess you are paying for the décor.

Will never go back to this place! There were 2 parties in front of us and one got seated. Then a lady came in with a party of 7(we had 3) and they sat them in front of us and the other people that had been waiting We talked to the staff and they did say it was first come first serve. Obviously not!

Bfast is amazing and quiet– it’s perfect for my husband and I to go for a morning date sans kids. Get seasoned red potatoes! Great black coffee. Always friendly staff. Love the doors on the walls.

Great service. Nice décor. Have plants and stained glass inside the restaurant. But not your typical breakfast place. Very limited choices for breakfast. But they have some lunch options as well. And they serve bottled beers and wine and mimosa as well. It will be much better if they expand the menu. Food not very pricey. Hash browns little bland. Omlette were awesome. Chocolate drink with Baileys can’t be bad either

Pretty decent fare, but slow service. Guessing it’s the kitchen as after a couple times the waitstaff seem to always be hustling pretty well. If you’re up for a lazy Sunday breakfast it’s no problem but might be a bit frustrating.

Real simple. Great food with not so great service. What happened to Danielle? She was the best server there and i think she left.

Rude. What was obviously a busy morning appeared to be run by kid that were in over their heads. Our party of four was advised to sit outside and push two tables together since there was no seating available inside. No problem. it’s a nice day… Once we head outside and push the tables together like we were instructed to do, we were told that«They don’t serve these tables» and that we’d have to wait to be seated inside. Couldn’t receive menus. couldn’t receive water… did exactly what was asked of us and it was refused service. I’ll pass.

Rude, rude, rude. Just was getting coffee at the well bean across the parking lot when we saw fiddlesticks and decided to try breakfast there. With coffee in hand, we were seated and the waitress told us that we cannot bring in any outside food. We explained what our intentions were, apologized and said that we would leave. She(in a very nasty tone) told us that we could stay. «this will be an exception to the rule, you better not do this next time». Well there will never be a next time! She. Rudely took our order and practically threw the food out way. She failed to tell us any of the specials(which she kindly did to the table next to us). I just wanted to get up and leave right there. Couldn’t even tell you if the food was good because we left before finishing. I’m not sure how business continues with that attitude. Go to the well bean. So nice, so welcoming. What a difference.

We found this café on Unilocal while driving through the area and decided to give it a try. It is small and was pretty busy when we arrived on a Sunday right around noon. Luckily, we got a table. My two children found something they liked on the menu right away! My husband and I had to decide if we wanted breakfast or lunch, everything sounded delicious! We went with lunch. We all loved our food. I especially loved my Southwest Caesar Salad! Yum! Portion size was perfect! I didn’t give 5 stars because it took a while to get our food. It was worth the wait though. The servers were very friendly and efficient. Definitely give this place a try if you are in Elkhorn, WI.

Excellent, quality food. The quality of the ingredients can’t be beat, especially when you see their prices! Having eaten here many times, I’m always amazed at how small my bill is. As for the complaints of taking too long to get seated… the place is small, I believe I saw a capacity sign for 75 people… yes, if it’s at the height of breakfast or dinner, you’ll probably have to wait a bit… but in my opinion, it’s well worth it.(why do you think it’s packed?) They also have a pretty good fish fry!

I don’t typically write Unilocal reviews but hands down one of the most offensive restaurant experiences I’ve ever encountered. After a camping trip to Kettle Moraine, my friends and I were excited to stop at Fiddlesticks for a much needed breakfast on our way back to Chicago. After being told we’d have to wait 10 min for a table, we decided to have a couple bloody mary’s while we waited. We were asked for ID and my friends produced a government issued driver’s license(from CA) and a government issued passport. After disappearing into the back, the waitress returned to tell us that she couldn’t serve us at the behest of the owner. We asked why, and requested to speak with the owner that was refusing us service. She disappeared into the back once again and returned to tell us that the owner wouldn’t speak with us. We were confused and humiliated, and asked one last time why they wouldn’t serve us. To which she replied, «we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. If you have a Wisconsin ID then maybe we could serve you.» Obviously none of us had local ID’s since we’re not Wis. natives, but it quickly became clear that they had decided to discriminate based on our age and ethnicity. I’ve never encountered discrimination like this first hand before and I hope no one else has to. It’s abhorrent, and I hope my small review plays some small part in correcting this for future patrons.

This is a place we really enjoy… but don’t get back to often enough… one hint… call first… they have a major catering gig, and sometimes close for an evening… yeah, I know… but this IS Wisconsin where folks close for months in the winter… or for deer season… is also open only Fri and Sat nights for dinner… open for breakfast(which I understand is really good as well) and lunch on most days as well… Back to the restaurant… is somewhat hard to find so watch close… take a left, going north, at Charley O’s. oh yeah. the food… very very good… go for some of the more unusual stuff… had the chicken oscar last night… great…chicken breast layered on top with ham then crab cakes with corn… covered by a thin cheese sauce… amazing combo of flavors Sarah had rainbow trout. if you are a fish person you would really like this one… a good(not great) wine and beer selection… good specials… the trout was a special… good soups as well… tomato bisque was very good… will be back
