The layout of this store is terrible. I can never find what I need and I end up backtracking a lot. They get 3 stars because when I can find an employee to ask for help they are always friendly and willing.

I love the Cub Foods in Elk River! Had a great experience this morning! Love the employees in the store, very nice. Love the layout of the store, love the big bakery department!

It was the first time I have been to this Cub in Many years, I was sorely disappointed. The layout of this store is terrible. I mean, upon arrival of the north entrance, there is literally A WALL of crap. Assorted seasonal items and stuff like that, leading to a produce section of semi old items… Nothing really stood out there. The peppers were beginning to get leathery and weird looking. Some of the onions had huge brown patches… I was super disappointed at the quality of the produce here. Guess its still Coborns as the remaining champ. The selection here is also terrible. It is a rather large store compared to quite a few Cub Foods down in the cities. So I cant help but wonder why they have such a small selection. Especially the ethnic foods section. Its about a quarter of an isle long. Sadness. And NOMRS. REFRENOSGHOSTPEPPERSALSA. I shook my head and hurt inside a little. I have also been trying to find a store that sells the new Chicken and Waffle chips, and I got slightly excited when I seen the huge«America Decides The Next Flavor!» stand. Only to find out that the only bags left were Siracha. Not even a garlic cheese bread. I guess shopping at Cub Foods in the cities gave me a standard for Cub all around MN. This location is just downright horrible. I expected a lot more.

I grew up as more of a Rainbow foods girl, myself, and in recent years, have moved on over to be a Super Target fan. Cub Foods is taking some getting used to for me. The boyfriend likes Cub, as he banks with TCF, and he can kill the bank bird and the grocery bird with one metaphorical stone. This particular Cub Foods location is nestled into the Har Mar area. Due to traffic, it’s hard to get to from the front entrance, and the back entrance is hidden in a labyrinth of winding corridors. If you solve the maze, you are rewarded with access to the store via the meat and seafood department, which is unsettling. Next, the layout is extremely poor. It’s crowded, cramped, and not laid out in logical grocery store order. We were constantly walking back and forth trying to find what we needed, and it took about ten minutes to find the produce section. I’m sure if this is your ‘regular’ Cub, you know it like the back of your hand, but for an infrequent visitor, it was reeeeeally annoying. Customer service was extremely lacking. We couldn’t find an employee wandering the aisles to answer any questions, and our cashier didn’t smile or talk to us at all. There was a lone cashier guarding the back entrance where we came in who was blatantly reading a magazine — not paying attention to anyone coming through the doors. All in all, I doubt I’ll be back to this location, unless it’s for something quick that I can dash in and dash out for. So, meat and seafood through the back entrance is about it. Bummer.
