Planet Beach – Elk Grove

Came in for the hydration pod… Got zero moisture on my skin at all, it never even reached the temp it was supposed to. I’ve used the same pods at other tanning salons, that worked perfectly. Just Paid $ 39 for a waste of time. Even told the girl it didn’t work and just got a «sorry, have a good day»
Would give zero stars if possible!

Great experience, good customer service. Nice business, very clean. No complaints. I used the stand up bed (which was a new one for me) and it was cool.

They don’t return messages and when I finally get a hold of them, they are in a hurry. And NO they don’t offer «just tanning».

The staff at Planet Beach is amazing, friendly, and helpful; the place is spotless; and the equipment is very high quality.

So far I’m very satisfied the staff seems really patient and kind. It’s worth your time and not extremely expensive.

Love my new addiction. Since this location is under new ownership… I have returned as a weekly client. It’s very clean and has more to offer than just tanning. I love the hydration system — red light therapy and stand up tanner. I’m going to try the sauna and add that to my weekly maintenance to take care of myself besides going to the gym. The new owner is very informative and friendly which makes for a pleasant transaction everytime because it is also how the rest of the employees are… super sweet and knowledgeable. Thank you for putting a fresh face on Planet Beach!!!

Best tanning ever! Must try the LED teeth whitening. It is amazing!!! Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Place is super clean and owner is very friendly and very helpful.

Great place! Very clean and good customer service. They have so much to offer as well a full spa plus great tanning beds. Simple and clean… I have made this my new tanning home.

I was looking for a place near my house to tan before my upcoming vacation to Hawaii. I called Planet Beach and inquired about tanning packages. I was told by Sarah that they offer many services and did not have a tanning package by itself, but the owner would be happy to make one for me. Sarah offered to take my phone number and have the owner call me back. I asked for the owner’s email address instead, and emailed her. The owner, Amy, emailed me back right away! She gave me an AWESOME deal that included all of their beds. The total time from when I called Planet Beach through the time that the owner emailed me back and then I stepped into the stand-​up bed … less than an hour! Excellent customer service!!! I work full time and have a busy family, so it was nice to get down to business so quickly.
Sarah was very helpful when I arrived and explained their beds to me. I was led right into the tanning room and got my tan on! So happy that I found a great place close to my house. They recommend appointments during peak times and let me know what those were. This is not uncommon, so I was not put off by it.
The new owner took over this location in May, so give Planet Beach a shot. My first experience was great!

What an amazing «me day» I had at Planet Beach. Did the eucalyptus oxygen treatment for allergies. Instantly cleared sinuses and breathing easier. Did the red light therapy bed with facial creams. Skin feels tighter. Tried out the hydration unit. massage, detox and relaxation all in one 30 min treatment. Ended it with a tanning session. thank you for the great customer service and treatment recommendations

I love this place. Friendly staff, super clean beds, and Sweet new owner. Several different packages to choose from to accomplish your perfect spa experience and keep in your budget.

I really liked this place until several things happened. They were closed for employee training the weekend before Memorial Day, which I thought was egregious considering it’s a pretty important time to tan! Secondly, I came in Wednesday, at 2pm, to use the stand-​up bed, and the chick informed me I couldn’t use it because there were two appointments scheduled! The bed is an 8 minute max, so WHY appointments?! If I want to continue to tan here, I’ll have to call every time to see if there are «appointments». Guess I’ll save my time and tan somewhere else now!
Edited: The owner contacted me and explained what happened that weekend they were closed, and why there’s appointments. Although I don’t agree with appointments for an 8 minute bed, I appreciate them reaching out, and caring about their customer’s concerns.

HORRIBLE customer service! I bought a bunch of tans at once a couple of years ago and was told that they do not expire, which was perfect for me because I only tan a few times during spring making a monthly membership unnecessary. I called and spoke with the owner who was extremely rude to me and told me my tans were expired. When I explained to her that the person who sold me the package had ensured me that they didn’t expire she became even more rude and then hung up on me. I’ll be finding a new tanning salon abc recommend you all do the same. Don’t support a business with no concern for customers or honoring their promises.

Great location and great service! I was really surprised by how many different services they offered and the range of prices– seriously something for every budget. They have stand up beds (my personal favorite). I have never made an appointment and have never had to wait (I go during the day). I’m not a fan of the parking lot, but that isn’t their fault :(
