How could I have not heard of this place for the three years they’ve been open?! On the way to drop off my dry clean next door on a Saturday night and noticed there was a long line trailing behind the counter along with many tables occupied. It was dinner hour, I was hungry, so why not drop in and take a bite of what the hype is about. I stepped in and studied the menu to see what they have to offer. I knew I was definitely in for a treat when 90% of the menu had my mouth watering. Noticed they offer a variety of meat ranging from steak, pork, chicken to lamb. After skimming through the pictures on Unilocal,my heart was set on the Mediterranean Schwarma. Stuffed with ample chicken, lettuce, onions, mushrooms along with their sweet special sauce wrapped in a warm tortilla wrap… ohhhh drrooools! This is seriously bomb. The marinated chicken meat was very tasty and the white sauce definitely made this schwarma worth every bite. In case you don’t know what a schwarma is, it’s basically a burrito, but 10x better. This place shines. Food is legit and service is fantastic. The guy who was taking my order at the counter couldn’t be any more helpful with answering the endless questions I had about the menu! Definitely coming back in the near future to try out their other dishes.

I have to say this is only my third time eating Greek food. I was a little hesitate on trying this place out. I was shocked how amazing this place was. I almost ordered seconds to take home.

When I got there parking was plentiful. I didn’t order ahead of time but I was lucky the place wasn’t busy at all. The guy at the register had a thick accent but after repeating my order few times to him, I guess he finally understood that I wanted a combo salad plate with steak and chicken and a chicken shawarma. After he took my order, the place started to get busy. I forgot to order a drink but when I looked to the right side of the resto, they actually provide their customers with free bottle water from a dispenser which is totally cool. That saved me a few dollars. Tip: you don’t have to buy any drinks and just take advantage of the Alhambra water dispenser they provide. The chicken and steak looked dry but it was well seasoned and really flavorful. That didn’t stop me from finishing up this wonderful salad. I also had the chicken gyro. That was also very good with the tzatziki yogurt sauce. Can’t get enough of this stuff. I was really satisfied with my meal and definitely can’t wait try to other things on the menu. The service is also pretty quick. My food came out within a few minutes with a smile. I would definitely recommend this place.

this place is legit! my boyfriend introduced me to this place and I cannot get over how good it is! I always get the lamb/steak combo plate. The flavors are definitely there. the lamb is sooo tender and the hummus… ohhhh the hummus. I never really liked hummus until I’ve had it here. I was pretty sad when they ran out of hummus the last time I was here.

Service: Service was good. Only thing I wonder if the person that originally took my order and later on asked someone to switch with him, washed his hands before touching the food. Bathrooms are located way in the back. It’s such a inconvenience because you would need to walk thru the kitchen to get to them. I HIGHLY suggest don’t go here without using the bathroom first. Food: Not what was I was expecting. I came here because the reviews on Unilocal was really good. But I’m disappointed. Where’s the feta cheese and olive in the greek salad? Garlic fries was stale and taste old. My chicken and beef was overcooked to where it was too dry for my liking. Other than that, I would not come here again.

Whatever you get — make sure it’s made spicy! Everything I’ve had has been good but gyros are my fav thing here. And always get fries! Fast service, nice people.

Feeling adventure tonight, so we went for Middle East . Halal food, that’s mean they have to blessed the meats before butchering the meats and no pork. We had baba ghanouj for the 1st time and no more baba for us in the future, sorry baba just not for us. Hubby and daughter sharing chicken platter with medium spicy and hubby like it and daughter only like the rice. Hubby said there was spicy after word. Combination salad spicy was good and fresh and the meats really tender, huge portion, so left over for next meal time. Not spicy at all for me. We will coming back for more for sure.

This was my weekly lunch spot when I was pregnant. I stopped going for a couple months but finally went back recently. They updated the menu since the last time I was there. The lamb gyro is now listed as lamb/steak and I wonder if it’s always been that way. I had the lamb/steak gyro and it wasn’t as good as I remembered. The meat tasted slightly different and the sauce was bland. Overall, my gyro was flavorless. Although this last visit wasn’t great, I will still come back. The food is still decent and it is the only place I know of in Elk Grove to satisfy my gyro craving. Hopefully this last time was just a bad day.

This is a hidden mom and pop shop that you will miss if you’re not carefully looking. I’m a fan of the lamb/beef gyro meat, so luckily we were on the hunt for Mediterranean restaurants. We ordered the lamb/beef gyro platter and chicken kabob platter, we both finished our plates. PROs –you can get mild, medium, or spicy –light, creamy hummus –pita bread is served hot CONs –they charge you 25 cents, for extra tzatziki sauce and when I agreed, the server returned to tell me they were out –the«salad» that was apart of the platter did not have dressing, it was simply cubed green and red bell pepper, cucumber, red onion, tomato, and a couple of slivers iceberg lettuce –they do not have ice for their drinks but offer a variety of canned sodas and bottles of teas/juices Cons are not that big of a deal, and I like to support a family-run, small business

I have always passed by this place but have never tried it, until today. I have to say that I’ve been missing out. It literally took me 10 minutes just to order because of the variety of things they offer. Friendly staff ran mom and pop style, delicious food that is priced well, speedy service, and a family-friendly environment. I had the spicy mixed Shawarma which was very delicious. The only thing is, I wanted to try the baba ghanouj, but since it’s so popular it was already sold out. I guess the great news is I’m going to have to come back!

I can see the place franchised pretty quickly. One visit and I’m hooked. Kinda stuffy with shade of Korean bbq… yeah, you’ll leave smelling like it. Very little seating available but many are getting their food to go or calling in their orders for the grab n go. The baba ghanoush was very tasty, came served up with pita bread. Our Kabob’s or chicken and lamb was very moist and flavorful, served up on a bed of Jasmine rice and a small salad. The gyro was so darn good, I think most of the to go orders with the gyros. Lamb and beef served in some veg in a warm soft pita was perfect. The sodas seemed a bit awkward as you pay at the time of ordering then it’s kinda the honor system to grab yours from the soda case. The call ahead for to go seems the was to go and would make for a great picnic. With three locations already, look for more popping up soon.

Always a pleasure dining at a family owned restaurant. Their positive attitude makes you feel right at home without an effort. The small space was crowded on a Saturday night but the tables clear up fairly quickly. The dishes photograph extremely well, but the portions aren’t as large as they seem. I thought the Lamb/Steak Plate was an option of lamb or steak, but it’s actually the gyro meat that spins on that vertical grill. It maintains its moisture well, but it was also very oily when i stamped it onto a piece of napkin. I thought it would tone down the saltiness but got rid of lots of grease instead. The meat is tasty, but very, very salty. I enjoyed the toasted pita bread with the tzatziki sauce very much. It was my favorite part of the plate. My sister got the Chicken Salad. The chicken was tender and tasty. Sadly it was a thin bed of vegetables laid out flat on the plate. It wasn’t much of a salad you can stab your fork through. If you eat all the protein plus have a little luck, you might get full from this salad. Also ask for no olives if olives aren’t your thing. The French Fries were a bit disappointing because the oil seeped through. Transparent fries are no good :-( Next time I will try a chicken shwarma or gyro, but I wouldn’t be back for the dishes reviewed above. The food was mediocre, but I left this place happy knowing that the family seems to love what they do!

I gave this joint a three star. There’s a lot of goods and bads. Starting with the good, their food is delicious and always warm and ready to eat. I got their cheeseburgers and fries and I wanted seconds because they were scrumptious! However, the food is inconsistent. The lamb platter looked miles different from the next time I had the ordered the lamb platter. The bad is that the staff like to argue a lot. The rule that«the customer is always right» doesn’t apply here. If they messed up your order, they make it sound like you gave them the wrong order. And if you tell them an issue, they make you look stupid by creating a giant scene I’m the restaurant. Good is good, staff is not.

This is the first time I have frequented this place. I know it’s super close to our house that I probably could have walked to it but not in this heat! It actually was a bit toasty in here on top of it! The food I ordered was the lamb platter that consisted of a greek salad with the tzatziki sauce, hummus sauce, half a pita bread with lamb on top of the basmati rice. I ordered the flavoring medium and for me bc I ate the sauce up quickly so the rest of the meat was a bit spicy for me. The flavors were excellent but the quantity was not much. I easily had eaten everything up quickly. So that was a bit of a disappointment for me. Both my HB’s and my entrees were 8.99 so prices were inexpensive. He ordered a combo salad with steak, chicken and lamb. I probably should have stuck with my original order which was the salad. My HB already had been here a couple times before to pick up different items to go but it’s been awhile but I do know we have had the salad, schwarma and kabob. I distinctly remembered liking the food but somehow it didn’t stick out for me what exactly I liked on the menu. The inside of the restaurant was more like a hole in the wall. There were maybe at best 6 – 7 booths. So it was a bit small inside. They had a couple tables outside for outdoor seating but it was too warm today for that. It probably will be awhile before we will be back. As I wasn’t too impressed with the food this time around. It was just meh. Service was excellent however and parking was conveniently located right out in front. I can’t comment on the restrooms as I didn’t need to use them this time around. Maybe next time? we shall see…

Love love love this place. Have been multiple times for take out. The Lamb and steak mixed gyro is so good. Tender; flavorfulmeat well seasoned with plenty of grilled onions and fresh tomatoes all wrapped in warm homemade pita bread. The gyro is served with a yogurt sauce and for $ 1.95 you can get a Greek salad that consists of diced cucumbers; tomatoes; red onions;Black olives and tossed with a light lemon and vinegar dressing and sprinkled with plenty of feta cheese and fresh parsley. They also throw in a cold canned soda. A complete meal for $ 9. Such a deal! You can have French fries instead of salad but I love a good Greek salad so I have never tried the fries. It’s a family run restaurant so you always see the same Friendly faces when you come in. Take out orders are always ready and accurate when I pick up.

The more I come here, the more I love this place! One of my fave $ 10& under lunch spots in EG. Lamb salad under $ 8 came out fast, yummy! Has freshly washed greens(u can tell cuz of all the water droplets), cucumber, tomato, olives and the tzazaki sauce is creamy. The whole thing is refreshing, light and great for low carbers like me. Lamb kabob plate which is one of the most expensive item on the menu, $ 10.99, but still not back in price, portion and quality, was tender like it was just slid off the sautee pan. It wasn’t on a kabob stick like I expected(it’s nice to not need need utensils, makes me feel like it’s summa tam!), but delicioso nonetheless! Cooked with savory tomato & onion, set atop basmati rice(check out my enticing pic!). Next to it is a mild creamy hummus, which is just blended & seasoned chickpeas(super healthy & tons of fiber), & a refreshing salad with tomato, cucumber, red onion, olives & tatzaki sauce dressing. For game fearing eating people, this item is very mild game tasting. If it’s a first time, I would say, just try it. You may love it. I say, it’s like steak, just better & tastier. Beef chunk thingys were not fresh, was kinda lukewarm and kinda tasted like it was cooked yesterday and warmed up in the microwave. Not a good sign. Please make it fresh next time like the lamb. I really wanna love this place! On one of my visits, they served me plastic water cups that were ewwy gooey in some places. Not gon’ lie, I may have detected pipe flavor in there, but that’s ok, still luv ya! The most recent visit, the styro cups are back with a water container that you fill on your own. Gotta love get-it-yourself water pourers for water lovin peeps like myself. The rest of the menu has items like combo plates, gyros, vegetarian dishes, meat dishes with chicken and beef, can’t say I seen anything with pork though. Dessert like baklava(flaky sweet square dessert that appears homemade), drinks like mango lassi, mango juice, old skool coke in red alluminum bottle, snapples & sodas stored in a breakroom cooler style grab-it-yourself setting. Food items range from a low $ 5.99 to the plates which go are a moderate $ 10.99, but thats where prices appear to top off. The guy at counter said menu items & descriptions are listed in Unilocal. The place itself is a home made type feel. I think the workers are family. I recongnize the décor from Ross, the lacey table décor covers from Walmart fabric department. Maybe just the«Afghanistan» map is from their home country. The faded big bosomed postered blonde eating a gyro with a come-hither smile & inviting eyes, who is obviously not blond-born by the shape of her nose & the skin of her skin. that pic probably wasn’t bought from Ross. I could be dead wrong however. You can tell the food is good from the variety of customers of colors to age groups eating there. Good food knows no color or age boundaries! Two tables of Asians, a family of Middle Easterners, two tables of elderly causcasian couples, a duo of bath needing construction workers on a lunch break. and a line of 5 long anticipating to eat simple satisfying good grub a dub dub. The house was packed at 1pm! Come early or come late for tables or order to go. Hubby casually amused, «Why is the Mexican channel on?» hahaha. beats me. Def would go again. One of EGs best lunch spots at $ 10 or under. Across from Walgreens, n diagonal from Tarjay.
