I recently got my hair lightened drastically the day before Thanksgiving by Julia & I just wanted to give her a big thank you. She is a very professional kind person that works at a fast but highly efficent desirable pace I felt like I was in an out. Color looked good I love it and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to book an appt. Also this was my first time at the salon so I think I found a great place! Best Salon in Elk Grove. I have been to several. Joel is wonderful. Does amazing work. Reasonably priced too for the amazing work you get done. Perfect cuts an color! He really takes the time to explain to you what will need to happen and go on before committing to make an appointment. He gives you a wonderful consultation and makes you feel confident in him that he’ll do a great job. He is a very talented, educated, and creative. I can’t wait to get my latest haircut and get the color he recommended for me. dark auburn. REALLY EXCITED!!!

Greg is the master when it comes to hair coloring! I’ve known a lot of his customers over the years, and everyone of them always looks amazing each times I’ve seen them! I’ve never been unhappy with his work!

I recently moved to Elk Grove from San Francisco, where I had the same hairdresser for 20 years. The commute back to SF for hair services was killing me so I Unilocaled best stylist in the Sac area and came up with Donna Hunsinger at the Expressions Salon. She was so fabulous! I was going to a very important wedding, and had to look like a movie star, and Donna did a fantastic job with my hair! I got many compliments at the wedding. Not only that, she is a genuinely sweet and attentive person, fun to talk with, and a true artist. I have found my new hair palace, and would recommend Donna to everyone that wants to look their absolute best! She is every bit as talented as any stylist in the «City!»

I highly recommend Donna Hunsinger at Expressions Salon in Elk Grove. She has been doing my hair for over 3 years and I am very very very particular about my hair. She is an excellent colorist and will do exactly what you want. I have recently moved from Elk Grove to Rocklin and have been making the commute for almost a year. Her fantastic personality makes my hair appointments so much fun!!! Excellent prices… on a scale of 1 — 10… I give her a 12!!!

This business is likeable.
Now, not terrific, but it is ok. I liked the price of my haircut, I liked Greg the owner. I think the salon could be cleaner, or CLEANED, and some updating and new paint, really. I was a first timer, and I think Greg has a great personality, and the price is good.
I would have liked more of «what do you want to do with your hair, and this is what I think…» That is a personal preference.
Previous reviews state cash or check only. YES, that has not changed.
Update: I do not recommend getting your hair color done by Greg. Although I am updating quite a while later, I still hesitate to be negative. My scalp had a reaction. The product was left on too long. He worked on another client while my dying process was going on. An acquaintance uses Lindsay for color.

My mom and I have been coming to see Joel here for YEARS. I have difficult, curly hair but he always knows how to cut it to perfection. Besides completely washing, conditioning and trimming my hair in an astouding 20 minutes, I get some great conversation along the way! Joel’s hilarious and everyone in the salon is so nice and welcoming. This place is clean and very decently priced in comparison to what those other people are charging these days. Definitely recommend to anyone!

I’ve been a client of Expressions for over 15 years. The salon has a very welcoming atmosphere. My stylist, Greg, is one of the owners and he is the ISH! He knows his clients, caters to them and will give you an honest opinion…

My stylist here is wonderful. It’s clean. The people are friendly and I enjoy looking at the art on the walls. I like how they wash your hair before it’s cut. The prices are average. I enjoy the coffee and cookies that are often left out by the counter. This is a great salon.
