Great prices, generous portions and a friendly stagecoach old time atmosphere. It’s definitely worth the meal of you are in the area. My go to spot for a good meal relaxing meal.

WOW, read a review on here Best Breakfast in Elk Grove! I’m sorry. Bad food, dirty and so, so service. Somebody needs to show this town what can be done with breakfast!

This place used to be amazing and the food is still pretty good but we had the WORST waitress ever. She wouldn’t let us order certain items on the menu we wanted she even told us that they were old and sitting on the stove forever she also served us food that wasn’t prepared right and when we asked if we could take it off the bill cuz we didn’t even eat it she said no because she cooked it herself she knows it was cooked well, we went to have a nice family meal and left angry and disgusted by the way we were rudely treated. I believe that waitresses should love their job and help serve customers needs that’s what a waitress should do, not be rude and make customers feel uncomfortable like they can’t order things, also we seen her gossiping with other workers about us after we asked about the uncooked food. I would give this place –27364 stars if I could just because of the way we’re were treated. U should update ur staff use younger upbeat people that wanna work and stop using Grumpy old ladies who need to be at home watching family feud arguing with the TV instead of the customers. Not even hating just being real never felt so disrespected and uncomfortable in a «family» restraint before

Oh no! Should have gone to IHOP or Black Bear. The change in ownership, cooks and staff made this place go down hill. Even the toast tasted horrible!

Best breakfast place in Elk Grove. True Elk Grovians know this place is and has been the best. It’s very welcoming and feels like home. It has that true country feel that Elk Grove used to have. This is THE place to go for breakfast but they have great lunch and dinner specials as well.

Always a good spot for some breakfast foods. Good coffee and friendly service. Too informal to get higher stars but nice spot in the Elk Grove area.

OMG. What has happened to this place. Just a change in ownership? Yipes! The past three times we have noticed rude wait staff(to us and others), inattentive everyone(from seating to serving to checking to providing the check). The good old gals that use to work there are gone, too. Especially liked the old owners, they did everything-seating, serving, refills, cashiering – everything seem to run very smoothly under the old ownership.(Remember Tom? Tom, where have you and your Lady gone?! We miss you!) Such a different place now. So, now, uh, No. Just no. We have lived in EG for 17 years, Cassidy’s WAS our go-to place for breakie. NOTANYMORE! Is this why there is always a line out the door at Black Bear? We can’t get in, but will now have to try harder. Darn. Well, there’s IHOP, too. I remember when they noticed that your glass or cup was empty and didn’t wait for you to say something, they brought you the refill. They were interested in performing their jobs efficiently, not slacking off talking. Honestly, if you say you are going to bring me the rest of my breakfast, and then you disappear, I shouldn’t have to wait until I am halfway done before I am finally(FINALLY!) able to get your attention to get the other half. And there are customers who can see you farting around the cash register, while people are waiting(…and waiting) to be seated. We can see you joking around with your staff, instead of seating people. You’re not busy, so don’t get rude(«I’ll be with you in a MINUTE, SIR!»). Geeze. Go to class, learn to be professional. ANDHIREMOREPEOPLE, YOURSTAFFISOVERWHELMED, DON’T BESOCHEAP! Goodbye, Cassidy’s. We won’t be back.

It seems that the staff is overwhelmed. I have been there three times within the last two months. They forget to bring condiments when asked for, eggs have been almost raw a times, hash browns cold by the time you get them. They try hard but I will no longer go there. They seem to have a regular clientele so perhaps they are used to the issues.

Used to come here often, since tom & crew left, wow just wow. And not wow in a good way. Food was ok, the place has no personality, we stood at the cashier while the tall thin gray haired lady walked by at least 6 times and completely ignored us, finally took our $$, only after complaining of her runny nose, Waitress was not very friendly. Don’t think we will be returning, onion rings were GREASY :(

I like to order a *basic* breakfast. I feel you can tell a lot about a restaurant by some scrambled eggs, hash browns and pancakes. No sauce to cover up what should already be delicious flavor. That said, Boyfriend and I came to Cassidy’s for a Sunday breakfast & that’s what I ordered. The Good: the eggs and homemade green chili sauce were DELICIOUS! Like I wanted more eggs to justify eating spoonfuls of that green sauce. Boyfriends biscuits and gravy were good. I would have liked some sausage in the gravy for a bit more flavor. The Bad: hash browns were undercooked and without the crunchies that make hash browns amazing. Pancakes… not the best I’ve had. We were really looking forward to some fluffy, light cakes. Not what we got. The décor is not only old but in bad shape(my chair had a split down the center.) With so many breakfast places to try, I’m not sure we’ll be back. But if we do end up here again, I’ll order an omelet with green sauce. :)

Was looking for a better breakfast spot and found it here. Service is quick, waitress is friendly, prices are good, portions are great. Food came out pretty fast and tasted fantastic. Sausage is delicious here not the small little links you find anywhere else. Waitress was funny too. Overall. Great new breakfast spot for my husband and I. Menu had much more to offer than Stagecoach nearby.

I ordered a steak sandwich, medium rare and it cam out well done. I decided to get the onion rings for an additional charge. They were pretty tasty but I could only eat 1, because they were soaked in oil. The place is pretty worn out. But server was a nice older lady.

Ok here is the skinny or should I say“fat” :-/ Service folks were friendly but extremely overwhelmed. But I have no idea why it was a normal flow of customers. but to their defense I don’t know what kind of morning they had because I got there around 1145 a.m. so there was somewhat of attention even though they were grinning and bearing it. I even walked up on a server angry with the cook. so, the food like wow. I guess I’ve been on to some decent eats lately and thought I would try this spot because it’s fairly close to home and of course somewhat of a popular breakfast spot and I’ve never experienced so much unnatural food. Everything was either processed or frozen cooked up and served about those hash browns I’m pretty sure they soaked in a puddle of grease. the hash browns alone reminded me of a East Coast grease kitchen. I ordered a 3 egg omelet at those three eggs must have been stretched out so thin that you can see through in other words there’s no way that was three eggs which tells me they weren’t using eggs furthermore on the sign it says eggs have gone up 204 percent so if you want an egg dish you have to pay an additional 50 cents sign on the front door. anywho back to the omelette mushrooms spinach and Swiss frozen spinach canned mushrooms and Kraft singles for the Swiss cheese? Really? Yes. Really. Horrible double mixed with frozen chopped spinach and some egg substitute. I’m not trying to be mean or judgemental but clearly these folks need to update and upgrade the quality of the food they’re serving it’s totally garbage garbage garbage furthermore taking a look around the place predominantly a senior citizen crowd and most of the people that I seen were experiencing health issues. not a good match but that’s just me I’m very health conscious and many are not so this is strictly my opinion. Kudos to the Cassidy family for sticking around so many years I would certainly love to support but I cannot. So 1star for descent service. 1 for longevity. Zero for food quality.

First time trying this restaurant sure did not a good one. Waitress got us seated after waiting for a while and there’s no people in front of us. Peoples behind us got to order before us and they got their meals and drink before us too. Wait for an hour for our foods and free. Don’t want to go back again EVER.

This is your hometown classic American diner, frequented by many Elk Grove locals, and not surprisingly so, considering they hit the spot first thing in the morning! Oh breakfast. I wish I had the chance to see you every day. It reminds me a lot of Stagecoach, another solid breakfast spot just two minutes down the road with a very down-to-earth atmosphere and an overall casual dining experience. As I was waiting in the front, their January-Special board caught my eye ~ the San Francisco Joe’s($ 6.29) — ground sirloin, mushroom, onions, spinach, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and wheat toast. A-OK in my book! Meat– good, scrambled eggs — gooood, then the mushrooms, onions, and spinach. well, those are my favorite sides/toppings, so that was a no-brainer. Good first visit. I wouldn’t mind coming back. First choice to break that fast? Not quite. Still, I’d be happy to have those eggs and bacon here any day of the week. Now if only I can pencil in breakfast in my regular schedule…

I was in Elk Grove visiting an Associate of mine. Said Associate wanted me to try out Cassidy’s . So we jumped in my Associates Hemi Whip and rolled to Cassidy’s we were able to park right in front . We rolled in and were Greeted and Seated by a Cute Hostess. Cassidy’s is a well known Breakfast Place in the Elk Grove Area. But they also serve Lunch and Dinner . Cassidy’s offers a great Dinner Special on Saturdays — Tri-Tip Steak or a Half County Rack Of Beef Ribs and a Baked Potato, Steamed Vegetables and a Salad for $ 9.99. I ordered the Saturday Special — Half Rack of Beef Ribs, Dressed Baked Potato, Steamed Green Beans and a Garden Salad with Bleu Cheese Dressing. My Salad came first nice sized Salad with Plenty of Dressing and Fresh Croutons. Pretty Tasty. Then the Half Rack of Ribs came out. It was Generous Sized Half Rack and it was so Tender the Meat fell right of the Bones. So good, The Baked Potato was pretty Tasty with Sour Cream and Butter topping it Service is really Good and The Owner even checks on the Patrons . They also have really good Desserts. I ordered a Slice of Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie. It was So Yummy. They have a Cool Western Décor. They Even have a Western Saddle there. I paid by Master Card and Rolled out.

Cassidy’s might be an Elk Grove staple, but I think I’ll drive a little further to downtown Sac and find more great brunch options. Don’t get me wrong, the food was tasty here but not quite enough to bring me back. It definitely got me full at an affordable price but it was also a plate I could technically come up with at home. Other brunch places in town are innovative and elevate the typical breakfast plate, which is something I would like to spend my money on. It’s a very family oriented restaurant for sure and it seems like a lot of people regularly come here. The menu is straightforward. I had a french toast combo with bacon and over easy eggs. My french toast was far too buttery… every bite was soaked in a pool of butter and I had to dab it off on the side of my plate each time. Great place, I don’t hate it, but I’ll drive a few miles north just to find unique brunch meals instead.

«Thanks for driving,» said my sister. You need a DD after finishing one of their hearty and rich meals cus they will put you to SLEEP… I am not even joking. I advise y’all to have a cup of coffee to keep you awake during the eating process. I had Rascal walked me afterward to revive me. IIIIII love their traditional breakfast platters such as their corned beef hash with a side of eggs and toast! Mmm mmm mmm! Their homemade butter is freakin’ yummy, too. I totally dipped my wheat toast in that ok(what diet? no diet). So rich and buttery OMG… A heart attack waiting to happen, but so worth it. My sister and her bf loved their entrees, too(even though they almost slip into a coma). It doesn’t break your Gucci/LV/Chanel wallet either cus it was about 23 bucks total for a group of three amigos. Holla for a dolla So come one come all! Everything is delicious here. Nice and homey. Service is a solid B-, sorta kind and sweet ppl. Breakfast lovers, unite.

We have had breakfast here several times. The last time we came it was hopping & that was during the week around 830ish. Today was later in the morning like at 10. It was not crazy busy but they were out of diet soda. Instead I got iced tea. My husband is the coffee drinker. My breakfast consisted of corned beef hash, eggs, hash brown & sourdough toast. It was very good plus there was hardly a wait for it. From my pic I got a huge amount of food that I probably could have eaten it all but that would have been so uncomfortable! My HB ordered the«cowboy» breakfast that consisted of 2 plate-sized pancakes(that was huge!), eggs, hash brown, sausage, bacon &(I know endless) Ham! I couldn’t believe my eyes because Ken normally orders an omelette that this breakfast was totally different. Price was reasonable for mine was 8.49& his was 11.99. We did have a coupon where you buy one get one free although you have to buy 2 drinks but it was worth it. Of course HB had to take part of his home too. This breakfast diner does serve dinner as Wednesday is spaghetti day. You would think this place is a hole in the wall but it is clean for its age & the waitresses are pleasant. They have those kind of tables that advertise the local businesses and they are covered with glass so that it’s not sticky like some older restaurants. Try it you might like it…
