I wish I could give Norlanco a five star review, but I can’t, and it’s by no fault of my own. I live literally like a 5 minute drive away from them. I could even walk there if I wanted to. I have medicaid and Norlanco stated on their website before that they are accepting new patients and they are accepting my specific medical insurance provider among others. I contacted Norlanco twice. Once last year and another time about a week ago. Both times that I called, I’m pretty sure I got the same lady on the phone. I wanted to schedule a first time appointment. She asked me what insurance I have, and I told her, and she told me that they are not taking any new patients with that insurance. But she sounded a little hostile about it towards me. She got a little loud on the phone, and it upset me. That was the first time when I called last year. Now I checked my healthcare provider’s website this second time and it showed and still showed that Norlanco is infact accepting new patiends with my insurance. So I called the other week. Same lady answered. She asked me what insurance I have and I told her. She told me that they are not accepting new patients with that insurance. She sounded upset over the phone with me. I heard her talking to another receptionist there about it. She told me that she doesn’t understand why it says on my medical insurance’s website that they are accepting new patients, when they are not. I told her that my partner was just at Norlanco the other week and he had an appointment. I was there with him. I told her that he has the same insurance as I do. I then told her that he also has Highmark through his job. She told me that that’s the reason that he is able to go here. She said that it’s not them, it’s the doctor’s. That the doctors are not accepting new patients with just that one insurance. I had no idea they could do this. How can they do that? And if there is such an obvious failure in communication between Norlanco and my health insurance provider. Then maybe Norlanco should contact them to let them know that they are not accepting new patients with that insurance. I’m so frustrated by this. My partner and I have always had the same doctor, we like it that way. By the way, after the second time talking to this woman at Norlanco, I contacted my health insurance provider. I explained to them the predicament at hand, and they told me that it shows in their system that Norlanco is accepting new patients with my insurance. So I don’t know what to do. I’m so aggravated and I feel a little discriminated against.

I really like Norlanco… it’s close to my house, and in the limited experience I’ve had with them, the doctors are all really great. They’ve also been really good about working with patients with no insurance, or low income. If you call early in the day, it’s fairly easy to be seen that same day, or the next.

Picture this… you are sick and need medical attention… THISPLACECANPROVIDESUCH A SERVICE. Norlanco has never let me down, although I’ve never needed their services for anything other than a physical and an ear infection for my children. Here’s to beating healthy and not needing this place.
