This franchised group presents rather a cross between an extended stay hotel and an apartment. Rentals are for a week at a time, some locations have lower 4 week rates some parts of the year, and like an apartment there is a deposit, usually $ 100 which can be debited for damage, and is not returned if you forget to give 24 hours notice before you leave. The layout is identical nationwide. There is a great variation of condition of rooms at any location however so that it might be wise to check your room before paying the rate. Most staff are usually not as guest oriented as at hotels, I have heard them described as more similar to paternalistic employees of a commercial college dorm, which means that day to day concerns, even maintenance aside from plumbing problems, are not likely to receive a serious response. Accounting is another discriminator here. There are optional charges for features that are included in hotels, like any internet connection, periodic housekeeping or even exchanges of sheets or towels. I have found that it can be hard to get an itemized bill, especially when undisclosed charges have been included, for example, some locations include charges, such as for linen exchanges, in a total charge even if you do not intend to use the options. When I have found that charges are too high, after 10 or 15 minutes of discussion I have been able to get these identified and removed by the office. If you are willing to overlook a few extra dollars a week or are willing to put in the time to examine your bill, this is a surmountable problem. Also rates can be very reasonable depending upon demand, although I have found changes of 40% or so from one week to another without much notice. I have stayed at a few of these locations, and this one seems like a good one to choose to review as it has no reviews until now. My overall impression has been that the other guests are usually fine as abutters, and that the room that you get can be quite good for the price if you are willing to pay attention to what the office staff are trying to provide. If I am staying someplace for a few weeks, I consider a Value Place, but I will scout out an acceptable nearby hotel that I can switch to if rates or room condition become an unresolvable problem.
