I’m a huge Mediterranean fan, my 2nd time here since the first time they opened. I gotten a falafel wrap. And an order of dolmas. The falafel was really really good. And the dolmas was really oily it was flavorful, but the thing I didn’t like was when I see them microwaving them right in front of you. I mean. I could have done that at home. Thought that was a Lil tacky. But overall the wrap was really delicious and not bad for 3.95

Great little place. The owner was really nice and gave us a free cup of pea soup to try while we waited for our food. I ordered the chicken kabobs dinner and was impressed with the taste of all the food, as well as the presentation. First time there but I will definitely be back for more.

Lunch special for 6.50 after tax, and it fills you up. But that’s not the important part; what’s really great is the food and the service. The owner took care of us personally, and it was incredible. The food is made fresh, in house when possible, including the hummus, pita, tzaziki, and lentil soup(def. Try that if you get the chance). This little hole in the wall should be a go-to spot for anyone’s lunch or otherwise.

I have occasionally ordered from PP since they opened, finding them a decent place and a nice step up from the previous establishment to occupy their space. A recent visit revealed a significant change — I now think these guys are competitive with Pita Inn and the best of Chicago, a comment I would not have made before. Kabobs were nicely seared, tender, and tasty. Shawma also nice. Hummus and baba Ganoush both fresh and flavorful, the eggplant in particular having a nice smoky taste. Even the rice, normally forgettable, was great. The manager gifted me with a serving of their potato/chicken salad — also a very fresh and balanced taste with good texture. Wow, they were enjoyable before, but this was a big step up. If they keep up this new level of quality, we’ll be back more often!

I went here over a month ago and am still craving that lentil soup! Don’t get me wrong; the other dishes were good. Truthfully, it doesn’t seem like you can go wrong here. But you can bet I’ll be back soon, and I’ll be buying extra soup to go.

11⁄09 Got beef & lamb kabobs. They were very good. While they didn’t have tzaziki sauce, we got the cucumber salad and it worked just the same. Would order from ther again for sure.

It was pretty good. We had the kabob(chicken) — 12 pc plate and chicken shawarma plate, with extra basket of pita and babaghanouj. Also ordered a side of baklava which was awesome.

I’m not sure why this place gets such high praise. To start with it was really messy. Dirty Tables, rice and meat under the tables and food on the booth benches. It’s not because they were busy. There was only 4 other people in the place. My pita was stone cold. My Hummus was near tasteless except for the tahini that was in it. My rice was dry and just above room temp. The salad was bland and the tomatoes were orange and hard. I gave 2 stars because the chicken shawarma was fairly tasty. I won’t be back.

We love Pita Puff. The baba ghanouj and hummus are really delicious and not too garlicky. Tonight we had the lamb and beef combo with a side of falafel and baba. The flavored are consistent and the pita is authentic and not manufactured like other Mediterranean places. In the winter, the lentil soup hits the spot. Call ahead for pick up or eat in. The atmosphere is clean, friendly and they really aim to please.

This place is seriously delish. Having just spent 6 months living in the Mediterranean area, I can attest that the flavore are spot on. The tabouleh and veg grape leaves are my favorites. Can’t get enough of those two! Also, they usually give 8 – 9 grapes leaves even though only charge you for 6. And free soup sometimes! The atmosphere is meh, but I think the food more than makes up for it!

Unfortunately Pita Puff didn’t live up to the reviews I have read here. It’s fine for a quick meal if you’re passing by, but compared to the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food I’m used to in the Detroit area, this was pretty average. Falafel was not fresh and both it and the tahini sauce were bland. Not what I was hoping for. Fine location & staff, but the food won’t bring me back.

This was the first time we tried this place, so went there for lunch and let me just say all the food was Yummy ! I had the chicken shawarma plate, it was A LOT of food and great price at $ 9 Of course had to try their falafels, which you can get for 2 for a $ 1. A co worker tried the Arabic Cheese, she said that also was awesome. I will go back again and again, if you want to try this place, go to Groupon and get the coupon. Great deal, friendly staff ! Glad they are close to work !

Beyond great customer service. Great food and easy going atmosphere. Its really nice to see something other than chain fast food and taquerias here is Elgin! The owners have to be the nicest people I have ever met. The falafels and yogurt stuff was amazeballs! The baklava is to die for. The lentil soup is perfect. Healthy and yummy! Very decently priced too. They prepare all orders in a timely manner and worth a try! Even if you have never had Mediterranean food. They will walk you thru everything!

GREAT customer service & great price! I called to order delivery and because they didn’t offer it Jay offered me a free appetizer if I stopped in. I did, and sure enough I got free falafel and free lentil soup! While I was waiting for my food a couple of customers didn’t know what some menu items were and the owner stopped what he was doing to prepare some items for them to try. The lentil soup was amazing! Tabbouleh was good. Another salad — the name escapes me — was awesome. Wasn’t a huge fan of the spinach pies(slightly cold) and the falafel(though this is not their fault because I’m not a huge fan anyhow). I’ll be back!

Lentil soup: Bomb Baklava: Bomb All the food: So good First time in this place, it was dead. I have been wanting to try it though because I hear people in Elgin rave about the place, and I have driven past our a few times. Anyways, I got to have a short chat with the owner. He was sweet, sincere, and proud(not cocky) of his restaurant. He also told me how fresh his ingredients were. How he would rather spend a little extra money on a better ingredient and make his guests happy than just make more profit. The proof is there! The food was fresh, unique and fairly priced. I would go back.

We were bummed to see the previous Mediterranean place close at this location but a short while later Pita Puff opened! We finally got around to giving them a try last night. They had several friendly people working there and the owner gave us the most amazing hot tea to sip on while we waited for our to-go order. We both got the Chicken Shawarma, one platter & one as a sandwich. The platter came with a side of hummus, pita bread, salad & the shawarma w/rice. All was ooooh so delicious! We also had a side of falafel because we are falafel fiends — very tasty! The portions were a healthy size, meaning I could have definitely finished the platter & not felt like you had to roll me home. But coupled with the falafel & only at half my platter & saved the rest for lunch the next day.
