Mama Lee’s Gourmet Popcorn in Elgin is absolutely amazing the popcorn is awesome many different flavors my favorite is the kettlecorn and i tried a bacon cheddar that was fantastic a flavor of the day always a unique flavor. Garretts popcorn Who’s that? no need for the ride out there when you have the best popcorn right here in Elgin the people that run it are sweet, kind and make you feel like a number one customer trust me try it you will have a poptastic day if you do!

Mama Lee’s is a gem! They have great popcorn and the people in the store are very kind and pleasant.
I’ve been there three times since they opened and have not been disappointed at all. The quality is always there and the flavor unmatched. I’ve had the caramel corn, the cheddar, and my absolute favorite… kettle corn. Every flavor that I’ve tried is really good, but they truly have about the best kettle corn I’ve ever had. It is crunchy, sweet and salty… just perfect.
I hope their business continues to thrive. It is a great hidden gem in Elgin that everyone who likes popcorn should try!

Best popcorn I’ve ever had! Bacon cheddar was to die for. The owner is an awesome guy too. Don’t need to write a lengthy review because the popcorn speaks for itself. Move over Garret’s, there’s a new chief in the popcorn world.

I have been a fan of Mama Lee’s since they first opened in July. The owner Chris has changed the game when it comes to POPCORN! First time I walked in I knew I would love the Traditional Mix (cheese and caramel corn mix), especially being from Chicago (currently an Elgin resident). Little did I know I would fall in love with the Elgin mix (white cheddar garlic and caramel corn).
Gourmet flavors rotate daily. Your classic options Butter pop, Kettle corn, Traditional mix and Elgin mix are always available. The flavor range varies from sweet to savory and many in between. Two flavors that were game changers are Cheddar Bacon and the Thanksgiving Mix.
I highly recommend checking out Mama Lee’s!

So walking around downtown Elgin which is apparently exceedingly hip now (I know it’s hip because there is a vinyl record store — Rediscover Vinyl) and I smell fresh popcorn. Up until that, I wasn’t particularly hungry, but popcorn is so small it fits in around all other food I’d already eaten.
I stopped in expecting to get a caramel — cheese combo (Chicago mix), but the person behind the counter recommended the Elgin Mix — garlic cheese, mixed with caramel corn.
I was skeptical but went with the recommendation.
The garlic cheese popcorn was excellent. The cheese is not quite as oily/​messy as say Garrett’s cheese corn. The cheese here is a bit more powdery, with a hint of garlic flavor.
The caramel corn is very good, with a nice crunch and golden brown color. The two together are magical.
They also have flavors of the week? or month? not sure how often they rotate.
I need to try Bacon Cheddar next.
Highly Recommended.
Just because you are in the ‘burbs doesn’t mean you get cut rate popcorn. Prices are on par with Nuts on Clark, and Garrett’s.

This place rocks– popcorn flavors are fabulous & not over powering. The flavors compliment the popcorn while still letting the natural flavor of the popcorn still shine thru.

I totally have to give this a 5 Star review! My sister and I headed here on July 4^th in the morning and decided to check it out and ended up buying each flavor. Great choices and friendly staff!
Simply decorated inside with very a easy to read popcorn menu.
Honestly Elgin needed something like this. Instead of hopping over to a local grocer to buy factory made popcorn, try out this fresh stuff!!!

Such a great place to walk into. Everyone was nice and friendly! My kids were even surprised. I would recommend everyone go check it out. I come in for one bag of popcorn and walked out with four! We will definitely be back for more.
