I ordered the chocolate churros here! the churros are filled with chocolate which is convenient I was a bit disappointed about the chocolate because I was expecting it to taste like a melted chocolate bar(or chocolate syrup or something like that) but it tasted like chocolate pudding but besides that, the churros are nice and crunchy, fluffy(idk if hats the right word) on the inside. not too much sugar nor cinnamon. it’s a good mix it was a pretty good price too!(I think I paid ~$ 5. give or take like $ 1) would I come back? maybe not for the chocolate churros, but maybe to try their churro ice cream sandwich!

Finally got to try this place. Good stuff! Chicken is really good and juice. Not dry or anything. They even have deals on deals. Yes I know churros right. Well I ordered the churro and chicken. Their take on chicken and waffles. Not bad for $ 4.99 it was good to share with someone just for taste. The churros were good also. We also ordered the ice cream sandwich churro. Would have ordered other stuff but I just bought tamales. I just wanted a little snack. The parking kinda sucks if it is business hours. Street parking and if it’s at night you can park at the laundry mat.(Check my photo for hours) it’s pretty roomy for lots of people to come and eat. They also have seating outside. Lots of cute décor. NOPUBLICRESTROOMS. Not even for the customers. Takes Visa.

Very clean place. Spoke to the owner and thanked home for the delicious churros. The recipe is from Mexico and the cajeta is from Guadalajara. The churros taste like the ones I’ve had from Mexico la bufadaroda.

This was such a great combo! I love sweet and salty and this meal had hit all the marks. I was telling my friend about this place and how we should try it. We got there when it was approaching closing time. They were very accommodating; I didn’t feel as if I were being rushed to finish my food. The chicken was decent; it was pretty good but, nothing too special. But, the churros were where it’s at! They were light and airy; the cinnamon sugar coated the fried dough nicely. They have a rather extensive menu which includes fried shrimp, hot wings, fries and other delectable goods. Unfortunately, I can’t eat ice cream but they have churro ice cream sandwich, churro sundaes, for those who enjoy the dairy. The décor inside was cute and festive. It’s very close by to my house so I’d like to go back to try the other sweet and salty dishes. Try it!

Lots and lots of different uses and incarnations for every one’s favorite mexican pastry the Churro. They have churros, churro ice cream sandwiches, churro sundae… and I think even a churro hot dog. I tried their Chicken N’ Churros combo, which is apparently the Mexican answer to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles! I liked the combo, the freshly fried churros were crispy on the outside and warm and chewy on the inside, it also comes with a little container of syrup to dip the churros in. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy and well seasoned. It was a great combo! eating the churro and dipping it into the syrup… letting the excess sauce drip on to the fried chicken. Sweet and savory. Banging! The place is pretty utilitarian, but there’s some eclectic things that adorn the place. It doesn’t have a public bathroom so washing your hands is kind of a pain, you may want to bring some moist towelettes. Needs beer and a public restroom instead of just alcohol sanitizer.

I’m a fat girl who has turned skinny but I still have plenty of fat girl tendencies. I am always on a diet, but will splurge when I think I should. My girlfriend, appalled at the thought of me ordering a churro from the costco food court, mentioned she had to take me to her favorite churro place with the best churros she has ever tasted. Now, I love fried chicken and I always compare it to my favorite, Popeyes! I ordered the fried chicken and churros. At Mama Churro’s, you can order six different type of fillings to put inside your churros! I picked the two most popular, the caramel and the condensed milk. Once my food came out, it looked like Popeyes chicken with churros! The chicken was golden brown on the outside with just enough batter to make it perfectly perfectly crunchy on the outside. It was salty, but not overly salty, and super juicy on the inside. I can actually say this is pretty comparable to Popeyes, but cheaper and it comes with churros! The churros were seasoned delectably and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The way they should be! I actually didn’t care too much for the filling because the churro itself was absolutely delicious. One meal from here and I’m hooked. This is now one of my favorite places!

I had this place bookmarked on Unilocal for a while before finally giving it a try. I came here last night around 7:30 p.m. and lucky for me, NOLINE! I’ve been wanting to try a churro ice cream sandwich and the only one near me was this place. My group and I ordered: Fried Chicken: Very crunchy on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside. Unfortunately, it was extremely greasy, but hey, it’s fried chicken so it was expected. The flavors were great, not overly salted and not bland. This would be my favorite part of my entire meal. Plain Churro($ 2): This was mediocre for me. I’d much prefer the churros from Costco. The cinnamon and dough ratio was unbalanced. I wouldn’t say this was horrible, but I was not impressed. Chocolate Infused Churro($ 3): I liked this one more than the plain churro because the chocolate filled in the unbalanced sweetness of the churro. My friend on the other hand like the plain one more. As you can see, it’s all based off of preference. I like my churros on the sweeter, more cinnamon side. Fries: Crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Much like everything else I’ve written about so far(haha). Not bad, not amazing, just A-Okay. Cole Slaw: This would be the least desired item from my meal. It had this funky taste but I can’t put my tongue on it. For comparison, I’d rate El Pollo Loco’s cole slaw a 5⁄5. But this place is a 2⁄5. Churro Ice Cream Sandwich($ 4-$ 5): Since my party and I ordered our food to-go, the churro ice cream sandwich melted by the time we got back to the house so we threw it in the freezer and brought it back out an hour later. I wish I could rate this on the«fresh out of oven, first bite experience,» but unfortunately, this would be based off of my encounter. The vanilla bean ice cream was delicious and very sweet. The churro on the other hand is basically the same as the original churro in a circle form. I wish I ate this immediately after I ordered it because I’m sure it would’ve been amazing but because it sat out for a while, this was also A-Okay. Venue: Very colorful and welcoming. Great for groups of maybe 10+. Parking: Out front Price: From $ 2-$ 20 depending on if you want an individual churro or a family sized meal.

Unilocalers, thank u! This place is a gem. Cute neighborhood, and super clean dessert dream restaurant. The Churro ice cream sandwich is delicious. It’s travel worthy. I ordered the condensed milk and it was bomb! All together for $ 5. I’ll be coming back for sum more for sure. :) I got lucky and found parking in the front, but they have parking available by the laundromat too, between 3−9pm. Bonus: the man working there was really nice and gave off a very welcoming vibe. When we came in, he was cleaning the tables, which is always a great thing to see when you are going to a food place.

Plump and Hot, Sweet and Creamy! That’s how to describe this churro and ice cream. A big, long, hot and fresh churro is served with sweet and creamy vanilla ice cream. The best part is drinking the saucer full of left over churro ice cream at the end. The small shop has several tables and also serves up some delicious smelling chicken. Indeed, my regret was not coming prepared to order a chicken dinner or chicken and churro first. The shop is super clean. The dessert is pretty darn good. Kudos to the shop for serving up a great authentic churro. This doughy stick of goodness is fried until the outside is crisp and crunchy while the inside stays gooey hot. The only thing missing for me was a cup of coffee. Parking on the street is relatively easy. They take credit cards. Great for kids! I am a fan.

Chicken and waffles? How about chicken and churros?! This spot was a total random discovery but I’m so glad we decided to stop by and indulge in the warm cream filled churros at Mama Churro y Mas. They specialize in churros with all kinds of different fillings but they also have a variety of other options on their menu such as fried chicken, chicken tenders, ice cream, etc. At $ 4.99 the 2 piece fried chicken and churro special is a great deal! The fried chicken is cooked perfectly crispy and it comes with 4 pieces of churros. I recently stopped by to try the churro ice cream sandwich and it was heavenly! It reminded me of my childhood Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and filled my tummy with happiness! Tip* Only street parking available

This place is located just off of Huntington Drive, El Sereno(near Alhambra) by a residential neighborhood. Kids love this place. There were many coming in and out getting their churros. The«Y Mas» part of their name is extensive. They not only serve churros, but also fried chicken, shrimp, fish and chips, and other random things that I wasn’t expecting. Basically anything you can fry, they’ll have it I got the Churro ice cream sandwich, which was extremely messy, but worth it. The churros weren’t as light and crispy as I was expecting, but it’s still really good. You have to eat it fast, or it’ll all melt on you.

Ordered the churros a la mode which comes with churros, whipped cream and ice cream. The combination of it all is great but they really skimp on the ice cream. I’d say it was less than a scoop or maybe a really small scoop, barely enough to eat with the churros. The churros were warm but a little too doughy/thick. Parking can be a pain. You might need to park in the residential if there is no street parking in the front.

Churro sundae! What?! And I did not know mr. Churro had a mrs. Come to this spot to skip the mayhem at placita Vera. The chicken and churro idea was a no-go bc unlike roscoes chicken and waffle, the chicken here is too salty for the sweet churro. The blend was not as natural as chicken and waffle. One huge gripe– TWICE they forgot to fill my churro with caramel. The second time the guy just offered it in a cup. WTF I paid extra to get caramel in a cup. They lost a star for that.

Good but not as amazing as Churro Don Abel! I was craving churros and decided to check out this joint. Located on a corner next to a laundromat, Mama Churro Y Mas has very little street parking but is spacious inside. I shared the Churro a la Mode with my sister, which was a scoop of ice cream topped with whipped cream and fudge, surrounded by 4 churros which you can fill with any flavor you want. The churros were a bit doughy to me and the filling tasted cheap. They also load up on the whipped cream but skimp on the ice cream. I also don’t understand why the Churros a la Mode is only available Sundays, since it is similar to the churro ice cream sandwich that they serve everyday. Service is great but I will be going to Don Abel for my churro fix!

Had to stop by once I heard there was an ice cream churro that existed. Saw great reviews about this place, so my friends and I went on a foodie adventure to see what the fuss was about. We immediately saw a sign for chicken and churros and chili fries so we ordered some to share and got a churro ice cream for dessert. Their churros come out hot and fresh. I love that they’re crispy and light and doughy on the inside. They give a side of syrup with the fried chicken and it tastes good with that or by itself. Surprisingly, their chicken tasted really good, too! AND their chili fries. The man helping us out was very nice and courteous and even brought our food to us. I do think the price for the churro ice cream is a bit steep for $ 4. Maybe $ 3 is fair to me. Gotta eat it quick, too because it melts super fast! We got lucky and found street parking. Didn’t see a private lot anywhere… so may have to park in residential area if you can’t find street parking. Definitely worth it to try. Their other foods won’t disappoint either. :)

A small hole-in-the-wall joint in El Sereno that serves fried chicken and churros. Stumbled upon this place on Sunday; a couple of friends were in the mood for churros out of the blue, so we busted out the Unilocal app to see which nearby place could satisfy our cravings. I ordered a churro sundae(they wrote it as sunday. haha). Essentially, it’s a churro cut into fours, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup served in a cup. For $ 3.75, not bad at all. The vanilla ice cream is similar to the one you’d find at Foster’s Freeze, the darker yellow hue of vanilla. Someone else ordered the churro ice cream sandwich, which was composed of 2 churros rolled into rings with a scoop of ice cream in the middle. Definitely a good bang-for-your-buck place. Next time I’ll try their chicken and churros combo(perhaps the next big thing since chicken and waffles?) or a churro with filling. They also have a special consisting of two pieces of chicken and fries for only $ 2.99. Street parking is the only option here.

Tasty Churros made-to-order. The tortas are good. Family-run, family friendly establishment in El Serreno.
