Kathy has been doing my hair for 4 years now and I cannot recommend her and Tonsorial enough. She has done natural looking balayage highlights and an all over bleach blonde look on me, all of which I have been extremely happy with. In both cases I brought pictures in and she executed the looks perfectly. The salon is quiet & mellow, the other stylists are lovely & warm too. Plenty of free street parking. I also like that I can book via text.

I’ve been getting my haircut by Dale since I moved to Manhattan Beach back in 2000. Although I miss the convenience of walking to the original Tonsorial the new location is great and there is plenty of parking. The Tonsorial has a unique old Western charm that instantly puts everyone in a relaxed mood. If you’re looking to escape the typical pretentious hair salon attitude the Tonsorial is the perfect answer. Check it out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been getting my hair cut in socal for more than 30 years, I can honestly say that Dale /Tonsorial Parlor is BYFAR the best barbershop I’ve come across… he and his team provide consistently good haircuts, which is perfectly complimented by a cool barbershop décor.

Not a barbershop, it’s a beauty salon. Name is misleading as well as the decorations inside. I’d forgo getting my haircut here again. I dont mind paying for quality, but this place just isnt worth it for a guy.

DALE is the man, friendly, skilled, a great conversationalist and a very interesting guy with cool eclectic taste. The cowboy theme of the place is wonderful and have been nothing but pleased with every cut I’ve received. New store is in a great area of El Segundo with lots to do if you’re early or want to catch lunch afterwards and much easier to get to and park than the MB location which is a huge plus unless you’re a fan of parking tickets. Will be my Barber as long as I’m in LA no question.

LOVELOVELOVE everything about this place! I’ve followed the staff from the original location in Manhattan Beach to the new location in El Segundo. Everything from the wild west décor to the eccentric personalities that come through the door is so original and a MUSTHAVE staple in the community. I would recommend my own mother to this place!

The time had come to chop of my mop and decided to give ye olde Tonsorial Parlor a try! The place itself has a great classic salon feel with antique looking chairs, ornate fixtures, and bits of nostalgia strewn about. My mane of hair was tamed by the wonderfully blunt and hilarious Dawn, who did a fabulous job, despite me being hardly able to describe the cut I wanted. She was able to use an old picture and worked her magic on my locks. I was very pleased with the cut and will definitely return. If you want a quiet cut with little conversation, then don’t visit the parlor, but if you want a great cut paired with some lively banter to spice up your day, you would be quite remiss if you pass up the Tonsorial Parlor.

A while back I had lost my Barber/Stylist for men due to changes in his hours which made it very difficult to visit his new shop. My son and I used him for quite some time and was very happy. since then we’ve been frequenting local Barbers but the quality of the work was quite honestly mediocre at best. We wanted a quality haircut form someone who focused on men’s cuts, wasn’t the run of the mill barber but wasn’t fancy salon. Well based on all the Unilocal reviews, I recently tried Dale at the Tonsorial Parlor. He’s fantastic! He does great work at a reasonable price and provided friendly interesting conversation to boot. The environment is extremely comfortable – higher end from the local Barber but very down to earth. I walked in and was offered coffee, water, even a beer – it is always 5PM somewhere isn’t it? Anyway I’m thrilled to have found Dale. His new shop(he recently moved from Manhattan Beach) is located in downtown El Segundo. Easy parking, quaint, low stress etc. a wonderful experience all around. He tells me it’s Unilocal policy once a business moves(even if one moves a shop a mile away and sets up the same exact business), they lose all they’re old reviews. I encourage you to try his shop and if your satisfied – to take the time to review his shop on Unilocal, even if you’ve reviewed it in the past. He definitely deserves the help!

When I moved out to the west coast a couple years ago I got my haircut at a couple pretty average places before I discovered Tonsorial Parlor. At the time it was in Manhattan Beach but now it’s in El Segundo — much better parking. Anyhow — I love this place. Down to earth people who are nice, give good service and don’t overcharge. No LA snobbery, pretentiousness and as a bonus, they play good music! Kathy cuts my hair and is the best but there doesn’t seem to be a bad option. Enjoy.

Before this place opened in El Segundo I didn’t know what a true barber was– from remembering your preferred hairstyle to actually washing your hair(yeah I sound like a metro right now) this place is simply hands down the best barbershop I’ve ever visited. Dale is the man to go to if you ever want a REAL haircut and some great conversation. Highly recommended for guys.

Gents, if you want a great cut and are sick of paying $ 70.(like me) give Dale a call. I’ve been driving across town for years to get a cut from Dale. His new shop in El Segundo is really nice and parking is abundant. Can’t tell you how awesome it is to have a go-to hair shop!!!

Place has a good vibe, western parlor serving ice cold MGD is always a nice intro. Dawn is awesome, a no BS woman who can cut a mean hairdo and keep you entertained just about the whole time. Everyone seems to genuinely enjoy what they do and who they work with. Makes for a good time if you have to get a haircut!

Wow. I believe an employee or owner left me a negative message cause of the review I left. Talk about harassment and unprofessionalism. Keep it classy!

This is the coolest hair salon in the South Bay. It has moved from its old location in Manhattan beach thankfully to the laid back historic section of beautiful downtown El Segundo. The owner Dale has turned a once defunct old brick bldg. into a western themed«Tonsorial Parlor» it’s worth checking out even if you don’t get a haircut. The staff is professional and friendly. Dales been cutting my hair twenty years and is awesome and a good banjo player as well. Stop in check it out you’ll want to get a cut. One last bit of history the movie«Blow» with Johnny Depp was about Dales original salon in Manhattan beach back in the day he also had a part in the movie as well.

Dale has been cutting my hair for a long time and I’ve always been a happy client. I’ve lived in different parts of the country a few times and had to use other salons but I’ve always looked forward reuniting with the Tonsorial Parlor when I moved back. Dale knows how to cut hair well and is a really interesting guy to chat with while you enjoy the old fashioned atmosphere. He hasn’t canceled on me once and he’s rarely more than 5 minutes behind. He’s a solid dude. While I haven’t tried any of the other stylists here, I always have fun joking around with them. You really can’t go wrong.

Dale and the ladies are the best in the South Bay! He has been written up in the local trades, always has a positive, fun attitude and is very quick to follow-up when setting appointments, either by phone or text. Solid cuts and the occasional coffee or beer as well!

Long time patron of the Tonsorial parlor and Dale. The new digs on Grand are very nice, and parking is much better then when the shop was on Highland. A great haircut, terrific atmosphere, and now easy parking… Who could ask for anything more?

**This is a revised review.** I was a bit apprehensive about the new El Segundo incarnation of the Tonsorial Parlor, as I have been visiting the Manhattan Beach one since I was… well, for the past 20 years. When I stepped inside Grand Ave. for my thrice-yearly haircut with Linda, I was pleasantly surprised. It has all the charms of Highland while being larger and more inviting. From the high ceilings to the large window in the front, there is a lot more light and space. Dale did a nice job decorating. The only downside is that I have to drive(5 min) now whereas I walked to the other place. As for service, as I previously mentioned, I have trusted Linda with my hair for two decades now. Even though I am sure she gives me a big loyalty discount, I pay in a year what most women pay for a single cut. As I said, I only have my hair cut every four months so the cuts she gives me last. Give Tonsorial Parlor a try. Nice stylists and good prices in a unique setting.

Kathy has been doing my hair for near 15 years. She’s the Best. They promised for a long time that they were coming to El Segundo. No one is happier than me that the parking is Totally better than MB. Kathy. Dawn both are wonderful at what they do. Never had Dale do my hair. I’m loyal to my Kathy.

Dale is deserving of 6 stars at least! He’s been cutting my hair for years and consistently does an amazing job and is just a great guy. He really poured his heart and soul into this new place in El Segundo and it really shows. Awesome new location, same great haircut!

Great Barber Shop! Could not be any happy to have them now in El Segundo! Dale did a great job and I will definitely be a returning customer. The shop looks amazing and fits perfect in our«Mayberry» community. Can’t wait to hear the Banjo Play! Cheers!
