Love Swadleys! Not just for their barbecue but also for homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, just like Grandma’s! And other sides like the jazzy green beans and yummy fried okra! They are also a sponsor for our Creative Writing Group and . Thanks, Swadleys! You rock!

Excellent lunch, portions, food and service all highly recommended. Had ribs, chopped brisket, their okra is hand battered and perfectly cooked. We will be back.

Decent for a ‘commercial’ BBQ joint. Had the firehouse sandwich. The chopped brisket on it was very fatty. The sliced hot link on the sandwich was overcooked and chewy. For my money I would pick Rudy’s over Swadley’s any day.

At first we thought it was a Dickeys knockoff. It isn’t. The menu is much greater. After you order, take a seat and you are served, not just your food brought to your table. The manager came and sat with us for awhile, we talked about food, travel, etc. After we had finished eating, he brought us a couple of beef ribs and said that we gotta try their specialty. The waitress kept us supplied with beverage, napkins, etc. I-40 goes right through El Reno and OK City and Swadleys is just a block or two off the freeway. I would drive forty miles from the freeway to go here as I drive through the area.

WOW! Some very good food! I loved all the 4BBQ sauces! My favorite sauce was Grumpy. The sweet corn was very good too! I ordered a two meat plate with sausage and chopped brisket. I just wish there was more brisket on my plate. If u put it in a cup it would measure a half cup.

The El Reno outpost of Swadley’s is consistent with the OKC location on Western regarding quality of food and service. This is a good thing. My family and I had lunch at Swadley’s on a Sunday around 12:15. It was crowded with a line about 10 deep. Seems to be a very popular post-church lunch spot. I went with the 2 meat combo with pulled pork and turkey with spicy beans and potato salad for my sides. We sat down and a server took our drink orders. Unfortunately, when she brought the drinks she spilled 2 full glasses of ice water on my mother and son. She very quickly cleaned up and helped us move to another table, which was appreciated. Accidents happen, and the staff at Swadley’s handled it very well. As noted above, the quality of my food was consistent with that of the OKC location on Western. The«spicy» beans could be spicier for my taste, particularly when they are described as spicy and come with jalapenos. Additionally, they lost some of the sweetness that’s present in the sweet beans. i think a combo dish of these 2 beans with extra heat would be fantastic. The potato was solid mustard based salad. Seasoned very well, it’s one of the better types of this style I’ve had. The turkey was moist and juicy, and you get a good sized helping. My son got a turkey sandwich, which he loved. My pulled pork was the disappointment of the meal. I can tell the rub is flavorful, but my pieces were largely dried out. I sort of brought them back to life with some hot sauce, but in my trips to Swadley’s this was the worst meat I’ve had. Service was great, we were brought pickles, peppers, and onions very quickly. Never had to ask for drink refills either. Additionally, our server offered to bring ice cream for dessert, which my boy loved. I’ve been pleased with service at both Swadley’s locations I’ve dined at. I’ll return to both.

This is a clean chain looking place. Has a drive thru. Had smoked chicken plate and some sliced brisket. Chicken was moist and tasty. Brisket was dry and not much flavor. Server was very accommodating and prompt. Sort of strange order at counter and service at table. Again seemed very clean. I guess for the area it is good.

You walk in and order at a counter. Fairly standard BBQ joint menu, lots of options. It was $ 25 for 2 adults 1 child. They take your drink order at your table. Water tastes good which is a huge plus for me. They also bring BBQ sauce to your table in individual cups as per your requested flavor. Our waitress was good, attentive but not too much so. And she offered us to-go cups when we left which I appreciated. I ordered the brisket baked potato which was delicious, but expensive. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been, but it is a little spendy.

This review is a bit late because it’s been over a month since I visited Oklahoma. I would like to commend the staff at this establishment for their excellent service. The BBQ itself here was very good, some of the smokiest tasting meats I’ve ever had. It’s a little bit pricey, but where I come from, the BBQ isn’t as flavorful and costs a lot more. I ordered the combo that has all the meats for you to try: Chicken, ham, brisket, ribs, and sausage. It came out a little over 20 $ including tip, and you won’t finish it in one sitting. The chicken was some of the best chicken I’ve had in ages. The smoke flavor really came through, and the chicken breast was moist and tender. Same goes for the ham, brisket, and ribs. The sausage was alright, but everything else all packed a great smokiness even after you take the left overs home and stick them in the microwave for dinner. Wished they had this is SoCal.

Was good but unfortunately they ran out of ribs… But we compensated with brisket on the plate the brisket was excellent I also found the onion petals and the rest of the meats on my dish to be quite delicious I definitely recommend this place just hopefully next time I go there they actually have ribs.

Stopped in on our long road trip to cali! We each had a sandwich with two sides. Brisket and Pulled pork and the okra, green beans coleslaw and Mac n cheese. The okra was stale which was our only complaint. The service was excellent and they offer you an ice cream cone at the end which we declined but it was a nice touch.

We were on a road trip and happened to stop by swadleys, and we were completely amazed by the delicious food that was served. My husband and I had the«city boy» meal with potato salad and spicy beans. We loved everything! The pulled pork was so tender and juicy! Our sides were also full of flavor, and our server Kasey was exceptional! Thank you Swadley’s for a great meal and awesome service!!!
