My dad brought me here because his mom used to bring him here. They get one star just for that. Our whirlwind 48 hour stay in El Paso included two visits here, once for dinner and once for breakfast. Traditional American style short order cooking. You can get your eggs how you like them, the coffee is hot, and the service is just good enough. The store was clean, the restroom was nicely appointed, and the people were friendly. I liked the menu better than Perkins and Denny’s. I wish we had more of these in Minnesota. Modest expectations will be rewarded.

Super friendly staff. Went there for supper. I had a soup&sandwich combo. OK minestrone. Nice ham&cheese, one slice of bread which was enough. Left room for fresh fruit salad. Went back for breakfast the next morning. Ordered the Canadian Bacon, as I reside in Canada. What a surprise. Village Inn call a large kobasa«Canadian Bacon». There is no bacon. It is ham. Staff were super nice about it. Offering to replace, etc… Wikipedia agrees with Village Inn’s description of Canadian Bacon. Guess the fact that it is called Canadian Bacon, does not mean it has to be Canadian, nor even bacon. Pity. I was looking forward to Canadian Back Bacon.

This location could use some remodeling. It is very aged. I came in at around 10 on a Saturday and the service was very slow. Our forks were pretty dirty and one of the coffee cups that was on the table was full of old coffee just turned upside down. I love visiting village inn whenever I visit El Paso.

We came here after we were disappointed at another restaurant. And we were VERYIMPRESSED. Our host and waiter were very nice and attentive so the service was great. The food was also good and came out timely. This was a perfect Village Inn experience and I would recommend it.

Given a choice between Village Inn or Denny’s(nearby), this place is hands down the winner in my book. Service was over the top despite being super crowded. Food was excellent. Prices were cheap. What can be better than that?

It’s a decent Village inn. The food is ok and the cakes are good. This place is a landmark for coffee and pay in El Paso. Service was good.

Waitress and manager were nice. But food took 1 hour to be ready. I only ordered a burger n fries. I had to refill my own drink

Had breakfast for dinner! Not bad at all. Ordered the cross country omlette with wheat toast. Small little place but definitely will come back when I am around town.

Got there at 8 am and not crowded. Took 25 minutes to get our breakfast. Never filled empty water glasses. Got one order wrong but had to catch plane. Cashier decided to seat customers before taking our money. Left enough cash to cover tab which we had to ask for. Manager greeted regulars but blew us off. Never going to that VI again.

Woke up this morning to frozen eggs, so we headed over to Village Inn because I have never been to one. Now I wish I had kept it that way. I got the VIB breakfast which is $ 7.49 for 2 eggs, bacon, toast and a fruit cup(there are a lot of different combos you can create, but I went classic.) The eggs were tiny and barely done. The two bacon strips were soggy and thin. The toast had no butter and was barely toasted(although I find that everywhere.) The fruit cup was as far from fresh as you could get without it being bad. Overall, this place sucks. Everything was bland and greasy and the CFL lighting made it look even worse. The service was good though… nevertheless I won’t be back.

Good breakfast place– always seem to order the same thing… Chicken, veggie omelette with mozarella cheese drizzled with a little bit of Cholula or Tabasco– yum. On the side, fruit, nut and grain pancakes… Pancakes have banana slices inside with nuts and strawberries on top… Service have always been excellent during the times I’ve visited… The only thing I can complain about is the fruit cup is not as fresh as I’d like for it to be… Free Wi-fi, so great for getting work done while eating…

In the distant land I’m from(Austin), they don’t have any Village Inns. I guess it’s a mix between an IHOP and Denny’s, only not quite as good? Anyway, that was my impression after eating a pretty tasteless and unremarkable breakfast here. Zero stars for the food. However, I love the way the interior is decorated. It looks frozen in 1975 with putrid yellows and browns everywhere. They also have a bunch of knock-off Eames bentwood chairs that I totally want to steal. Three stars for keeping it old school.

Preface/background: I eat more than average in terms of quantity(I’ve eaten 2 Chipotle Burritos in one sitting) but appreciate quality and am always looking for a great deal. This place is like a worse quality but more expensive IHOP. Came here for lunch, ordered the cheeseburger and the side salad. The total came out to around $ 14, which was a bit steep for lunch. The cheeseburger came with fries, and it was nothing special; it was probably made from a frozen patty, and the fries were OK, almost McDonald’s quality. It cost me about $ 9 for that. The side salad was fine, it was your standard salad with croutons, tomatoes, a sliced hard-boiled egg, and lettuce, for about $ 4. Overall, it was a bit pricey for El Paso food, and the quality was OK. I probably wouldn’t come back here unless it was the only restaurant open at 11PM. But actually, Taco Cabana is 24 hours, so I’d probably go there instead. Or even IHOP.
