I must say I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the steak and lobster. I asked for a medium rare steak and it was more towards the medium side and had no flavor what so ever. The sear was uneven and just a bad steak.(I know it’s a sea food place) but if you’re going to put it on your menu, it should be up to par with your fish options. The lobster thankfully was cooked well, very flavorful. The mix vegetables where over done and soggy and the rice was not fully cooked. Although the food was not what I expected the service here is extremely friendly.

As always, excellent service. I had the Villa del Mar shrimp, it was delicious. Place was clean and the food great.

Nothing about eating here was a good experience. The food was cold and the side items are mashed potatoes and rice. Weird. Also cold. The service was slow. We had to remind the server what we drank and that we needed a refill throughout our time there. Would not recommend to anyone. Very disappointed in our meal.

I came here because I remember the awesome shrimp cocktail. This place did not disappoint me. We ordered everything from breaded chicken to steak and shrimp. The entire meal was on point. The service was exceptionally exceptional! I will be back next time with my entire family… oh and one other thing, the prices are extremely affordable which made for a more enjoyable dinner.

Great Fillet Mignon wrapped in Bacon Fillet Mignon wrapped in Bacon was Delicious. Lobster was ok, nothing special. They serve a lot of extras: chips, Pico, limes, slaw of which I could not eat because too spicy for me. Waiter forgot my bread which is something I can eat, I noticed it on the tables on the way out that people did not touch. Manager gave me some to go after I asked. Perhaps they can keep costs down if they ask people if they want all the accoutrements rather than just serving them and being thrown out. Pricing was a little on the high side. Would I go back? Yes, for the steak only.

The food was okay. I don’t like being up sold though. By that I mean they try to push salads soups and all these extras on you just to make you spend more money. The food took FOREVER. I swear they went and tried to catch it fresh and bring it to the table that’s how long it felt like they took to bring the food. And the fish was like deep fried and dripping of oil. Definitely not a great experience, I will NOT be back.

I had high hopes for this place, but the food was horrible. The service sucked, all the girl servers were just in the bathroom gossiping instead of doing their job. They charge way to much for food that’s not even all that. Coming from LA where you get amazing fresh seafood, I was hoping this would be a great seafood place like the ones back home. I’ve yet to find one here in EP tho.

I had a wonderful experience at Villa del Mar. It is a restaurant that has a very good standing south of the border in Juarez, and our visit is proof of that. — Excellent service. Our waiter was courteous and kept an eye out for refills at all times. — The most delicious fish. I ordered a fish fillet al ajillo(covered in sauteed garlic, mushrooms and a dash a crushed red pepper for a spicy note), with rice and mashed potatoes on the side. Each dish comes with fish soup and salad. The portion was enormous and both my mom and I had plenty of food left over for lunch the next day — Each entrée es well priced; for under 15 dollars you get a freshly prepared, flavorful meal in a relaxing atmosphere. Will DEFINITELY return!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner. He had Carnival de Mariscos and I had Lobster and Ribeye. We both agreed that the food we ordered was the best we have ever had anywhere. The service was ok but the server did not spend a lot of time being cordial. We have decided when I come to town that this will be our favorite restaurant.

For lunch, I was looking for something that had fish on the menu, was quick, inexpensive, and close to where I was at. A co-worker recommended this place and stated that this place isn’t the best in El Paso, but good enough. Because it’s been hours since I’ve eaten, good enough was going to be good enough. So, lets start with the review… Villa Del Mar is located right off the 10 freeway. You really can’t miss it with their huge sign in front. During lunch, the restaurant was quiet with only a handful of guest and service was great. I was seated right away, my order was taken quick, and the food served in a decent amount of time. My Meal: For $ 7.99 I got their Fish and Chicken Combo. This included about 4 oz of tilapia, 5 oz of chicken breast, cup of rice, cup of mash potatoes, 3 dinner rolls, a cup of soup, and a basket of tortilla chips. Man, you sure get a lot for your dollar at Villa Del Mar. For dinner, this same meal is slightly higher at $ 11.99. Still a deal if you ask me. But my co-worker was correct, the food isn’t the greatest but good enough. I thought that my fish was tasty and flaky. This is how I like it. The chicken was sized about right with the right amount of protein too. However, I thought that it was a little salty. Everything else that came with my meal was just average. Overall, I would consider myself a fan because Villa Del Mar’s service was great, I’m able to get my macros in, and the prices are definitely a deal.

Would’ve been 5 stars except for tiny shrimp used in Campechana! Lobster tail delish! Al mojo de ajo my favorite. No disappointment here! Mushrooms are the bomb! Limonada ala mineral still da shiyt! Since Juarez is an adventure nowadays… stay safe in El Paso! Lmmfno. .ENJOYONFIRSTDATE! PURRRFECT!

I got a recommendation from the hotel supervisor and was disappointed. The best part of the evening was the salsa, a roasted tasty treat. It was unfortunately served with cold chips and went downhill from there. I ordered the Shrimp platter… Poblano, breaded, and Fiesta. In my opinion sweet corn does not belong in a dish named poblano shrimp, and peas do not belong in rice. The mashed potatoes were institutional at best. The breaded shrimp was served with cold tomato soup they call cocktail sauce. Thoroughly disappointed… Will not return.

It’s ok the food nothing special here. The service was solid, I’m not a fish fan but my wife is. The food isn’t great but far from bad!

This place is just wonderful and perhaps it alone justifies the strip-malling of America.(yes it is in a depressingly nondescript strip mall.) First everything is fresh. The Tortillas are clearly made fresh in the kitchen. Reminders of my early days in Mexico in the 70’s. Second the food is close to perfect. Simple and tasty. The shrimp and garlic is especially superb. The grilled fish special, also amazing, is about as healthy food as you will find in El Paso. The staff is truly friendly, not ingratiating or overly chipper. Just damn friendly. I don’t gush, its not a New York thing to do. So consider this review a gush of praise. Just eat here. And while you are in the Strip mall you can buy a guy or get a $ 10 massage. Up to you. But eat here. Oh, its also cheap as hell. PS: Yes the main dishes come with French Fries. Odd I know, but ok, so what, deal. You are getting an amazing meal for next to nothing…

Took me back to my childhood in Juarez. $ 12 whole black bass is as cheap as it will get anywhere.

Superb service. The food is delicious Mexican-style seafood. The ONLY drawback is the 1.75 for lemonades. They are delicious, but, come on… cheaper places offer free refills… Other than that… EXCELLENT place

I visit El Paso a few times a year and my girlfriend suggested we try Villa Del Mar for lunch. They serve complimentary chips that are very crunchy and not oily at all. The salsa is flavorful, but not too spicy which I enjoy. We started off with a small shrimp cocktail that was delicious. There were plenty of shrimp, a nice sweet tomato sauce with fresh avocado, cilantro and onions on the side. I got the grilled shrimp and fish combo that was excellent. It was served with a side of mashed potatoes and rice. Surprisingly, the potatoes went well with the fish. My girlfriend got the grilled fish Villa Del Mar. It was covered in a tasty cream and cheese sauce. I would recommend both dishes to anyone that enjoys seafood. The lunch prices are amazing as well, since they offer lunch specials which we enjoyed. I totally recommend this place for your Mexican Seafood cravings.

I used to love going to Villa del Mar in Juarez. I was a bit apprehensive that this wouldn’t taste the same. I needn’t have worried. Everything is exactly the same. The ceviche? Just as tasty. The shrimp cocktails? Just as tasty. The shrimp«al mojo de ajo»(fried garlic)? Super tasty. Every item I tasted was authentic mexican style seafood minus the pesky bullet holes that seem to be complimentary now in Juarez restaurants.

I’m not from El Paso, but Villa Del Mar was recommended to me by a local as a great place to eat while I was passing through town. He billed the menu as, «Fresh seafood the way it is prepared in Mexico.» Nuff said. First of all, the chips and salsa were great. Fresh, thick, crunchy chips and smoky roasted salsa — full of flavor and not too spicy. Next we got a half dozen oysters(big, fresh and plump), the snails in cocktail sauce(lots of big chewy snails), and the scallops also in cocktail sauce(note they come ceviche-style, which means they are essentially raw). I would have preferred the cocktail sauce not so sweet and with a horseradish kick, but I’m guessing what we had was the way it’s done in Mexico, which was cool. We also got two soups — seafood marinera soup for me and whole fish soup(bone-in fish) for the spouse. Both had great flavorful broths and were chock full of meaty bits. And despite the fact that the broths of both soups looked the same, they tasted quite different. But the masterpiece of all was the entrée — Filet Tampiquena. A garlicky grilled fish filet, refried beans, red chile enchillada(no filling, just a rolled-up corn tortilla smothered in red sauce — outstanding) and a vinegar(not mayo) coleslaw. But the best part was the huge mound of grilled fresh green chiles and onions on top. It was really, really really good. I should also note that the kids meals are a great deal — basically you get a good sized portion of fried fish fillet and/or shrimp on what seems like a pre-marathon ocean of rice and mashed potatoes. No kid could possibly eat 1⁄5 of all that starch, so we just focused the seafood and left most of the rest. Atmosphere is Red Lobsterish — bright, family-friendly, tables and booths, nautical-themed and lots of fish tanks. Everyone there(other than us) was speaking Spanish, which really lent credibility to its authenticity. I read somewhere there is a sister restaurant owned by the same folks in Ciudad Juarez — can’t verify that but sounds quite plausible. I can’t believe this place hasn’t been reviewed before. Love it.
