The entrees were delicious. I had the chiles rellenos and they were good. Shrimp cocktail was awesome. Fish tacos were good as well. Didn’t care for the sides. Beans tasted like they were from a can and the chile tasted like it was Pace Picante Sauce. Customer service was great! Restaurant is clean. Wouldn’t call it my fave place, but it was okay in a pinch.

I have had to kick in the self discipline to stay away from this place more than once a week. I would eat here daily if I could… Truly delicious food, no need to season or ask for condiments because it is on point. I absolutely give it 5 stars!

Okay. This place is exactly what the name says: «Tia’s». The food is awesome. In fact, the food tastes homemade as if you were going to visit your aunt’s home on a Saturday and she whips up something for you to eat on the stove. The salsa is red and tastes like the salsa from South Texas — tomatoey and medium hot. The tortilla soup tastes homemade — it is not your usual over the top frilly tortilla soup from foo foo restaurants. The shredded beef tacos and beef enchiladas were very tasty. The Mexican rice is good. But the real star of the lunch was the beans. The beans tasted like ones my grandmother made for dinner every night. The chocolate cake also tasted homemade. Overall this place will be our go to place for quick homemade Mexican lunch /dinner on the days we don’t feel like cooking. Definitely give it a try.

The restaurant is in a strip mall, off Mesa. It is fairly small and very casual. You sort of feel like you’re in someone’s kitchen, which I think is the point. The tables are covered with bright plastic table covers. The center piece of each table consists of a laminated dollie and a vase with fake, bright colored daises. There are several big paintings on the white walls and many framed photographs also hung up, of what appears to be landmarks and outdoor areas, all for sale(around $ 40 per picture). There is a functional fish tank hanging out near the back. The servers were very friendly and courteous. Two very young individuals tag teamed to serve the diners. I saw one with an apron on in the back at one point so it appeared they were helping cook too. Family operated it seems. The menu was simple, which I like, but felt the dishes could have use a little more description. Prices were inexpensive for the most part. We were given complimentary salsa and chips as we decided on our order. The salsa was good. It was light with a nice little kick. We started off with an appetizer, the chile con queso bowl. It came out in a huge bowl with soft corn tortillas on the side. It was extremely runny and broth-like. The cheese in it was curdled. To be honest with you, I wasn’t sure if it was suppose to look like that but it was awkward to eat. The chiles in it at least tasted good. Our entrees came next, enchiladas and flautas. They were okay, a little on the bland side. The enchilada green sauce was good. The beans and rice were sub par. The guacamole was actually avocado purée or cream. Other reviewers state everything here is supposedly homemade(which may have increased my expectations truthfully). I left feeling disappointed. All in all, two stars doesn’t mean awful, it just means«I’ve experienced better» in this case.

Great Mexican seafood and excellent customer service. Glad we stumbled upon it. Fried shrimp was my favorite!

Love the Normandy fish. The sauce is wonderful with enough shrimp to add flavor but not over power. Really nice small restaurant where enjoy the meal and the setting. Run by a wonderful family who always provide great service.

Well, this is a first… I ordered a large amount of food from Tia’s and I did not taste the food myself:(The 5 stars go to the great customer service experience. I wanted to do something practical for my relatives after a long stay at the hospital, and it occurred to me it would be good to get them food, so they did not have to worry about cooking for a while. Well, I ordered flautas, chiles rellenos, milanesas and enchiladas. As per the owner’s recommendation we added 2 different fish dishes and the fish soup. Plus chips and salsas. Well, lo and behold, the fish and the soup were their favorite dishes, I wish I had ordered more :( My 5 star rating is for the great customer service and the reasonable prices. The owner was very friendly and accommodating to my requests. About the food, my relatives loved it and I am sure they would give 5 stars as well. My aunt said the fish was very moist and it was the best she ever had. They also liked the soup a lot and when I mentioned to the owner she said they have customers that go to Tia’s right straight from the hospital to get their famous soup. Well, I shall stop here on my next visit to El Paso to update my review, I will make sure to try at least all the items that I ordered this time :)

Went here with the family while passing through El Paso on the recommendation of a family member and was not disappointed. It is a cozy restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. My wife and I spoke with the owners who also run the kitchen and serve the food. It seems that they bought out the old owners in April 2014 which probably explains the change in reviews from a year ago. We sampled quite an array of the food served. I am a big fan of the chile relleno and my wife had the shrimp cocktail. We bought the kids different types of tacos and they ate them all up as well. Definitely worth a stop.

In El Paso you will never get this good of Pacific Mexican seafood. Decorations are very nice. Makes you feel you are on the South Coast. Excellent service. They really do make you feel special. All of El Paso must try this.

Thought I didn’t like seafood that much but going here made me change my mind. It was amazing! Even the salsa made me feel at home. I made this a frequent luch stop. I love it!

I always like to support local and decided to have lunch with my son here since we live close by. When you first walk in the place seems cozy, but once you sit down you see how grimy the plastic table cloths are. I then noticed the rice all over the floor as if they have not vacuumed for days. The agua de limon was very good! We ordered the nachos for our appetizer which were very basic. I am pretty sure they used Rosarita’s canned beans on them. :(My son ordered the carnita’s and said they were ok. I ordered the plate which had a chile relleno, enchilada and crispy taco with rice and beans. The rice was old & hard. The taco was stale and the chile relleno I didn’t even touch because of the rest of the disappointment. We will not be returning here.

I no longer live in El Paso, but I go back about twice a year, and when I do, I make sure that I hit up Tia’s at least once, sometimes three times, each visit. I just love the place! Where to begin. The tortilla soup is quite possibly the best on the planet! My mouth waters just thinking about it. The Tia’s Special Whitefish plate… just wow. And it comes with white rice and steamed carrots – good, healthy complimentary sides that nicely offset the delicious cheesy, creamy sauce that comes with the fish. And because I’m so full after devouring the soup and fish plate, I have to make that second trip to Tia’s for their incredible tres leches. Call ahead for it because they don’t always have it. Note: They have plenty of non-seafood dishes for the non-sea creature eaters. Lastly, the service is EXCELLENT – sweetest people ever, and so attentive – and the atmosphere is… happy. Brightly colored walls, table cloths and art work just make your face smile. I see a below review that says that the food is not worth the price? I find this hilarious… the menu is SOCHEAP. $ 8.99 for seafood entrees that come with a cup of soup in a sit-down table-service restaurant? $ 5.99 lunch deals? Doesn’t get cheaper than that! Again: Seafood. Sit-down table-service restaurant. I don’t know how they stay in business with prices so low, but I sure hope they’re there year after year… my trips to El Paso would be incomplete without Tia’s.
