This place took a nose dive in the past six months or so. I work in the building and used to eat there several times a week for lunch. We used to cater with them for events we had. No more. The food quality has been cut. The salad is often limp, half rotten, or otherwise old. The sandwiches show that the quality of ingredients has plummeted. The staff is rude and consistently mess up the orders. It used to be neat and clean and now it’s a pit. All of the old staff is gone, replaced by the rude ones. There used to be nice little touches that are gone, like local artists selling El Paso pride things like locally inspired calendars and stuff like that. Now it’s just the greasy counter. It’s an unpleasant experience and I can’t recommend anyone go there. Thank god Healthy Bite moved next door. I hate to say it but I hope they put pike street out of business, or drive these new owners away. The last time I went in there I asked where the lady who used to work there was.(She was kind of distant but she always kept things really nice in there.) The guy said«oh, she left. Must be nice, huh?» And generally acted like she was running a bad business. How professional. That was the same day a lady behind the counter yelled at me to sample a muffin after I said no thanks three times and I had to yell back that for the third time I am allergic to %#*# wheat. This place lost my office’s business completely and the business of many others who work in our building. We will be there holding the door open for them though, when they have to move out.

Walked into this place thinking that it would be a ‘gem’ of an independent coffeeshop in downtown El Paso where options are limited. The place has a very ‘cold’ feel to it. Maybe it’s the cold European-esque owner lady working behind the counter that looked and sounded like she was bored and tired of her job or something. She seemed bothered talking to customers and even to regulars which is a big no no. The only thing good about the place was the daughter(maybe around 11 – 14 years old) helping out providing a slightly nicer customer service. The place could do so much better under new management but for now, would rather head to Coffeebox or Starbucks for my cup of Java at similar if not higher prices

Their Green Chile Soup is on point but I wish that they served it more than once per week. Easy fix: order several containers to-go and you’re set for the week! I haven’t tried anything else other than the soup. They have free Wi-Fi and they do deliver if you are feeling lazy. I need to go back soon to try their sandwiches and baked goods. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

I don’t know who took over, but their quality of food has gone down tremendously since the new owners arrived. I miss the mom/brother duo. The new zucchini bread is terrible. The salads are thrown together carelessly with large leafs of romaine instead of nicely chopped, mixed greens. Their cilantro lime dressing used to have cilantro in it. Now it’s just a container of oil. Blergh. This used to be my go-to place for a good clean salad, but it looks like Healthy bite will my option now.

I was exploring downtown today when I came across Pike Street Market. Tiny little coffee shop. I really just popped in right before lunch to get an iced Americano. Although tiny, the shop has a lot of personality and character and somehow projects more space than it really has. Its the perfect little place to come in the morning and get a coffee while reading the paper(or digital iPad). What really impressed me was how amicable and friendly the staff were. They went the extra mile in my opinion. I got the iced Americana and they poured the cream in for me(I guess I’m used to doing it myself at Starbucks) and then, because the barista was concerned that regular sugar wouldn’t mix well with the ice, he created a sugar water to add to the drink to sweeten it(and it worked really well). I’ve never seen that before. So, to sum up. Good drinks. Cool atmosphere. Excellent service.

If you’re ever in the mood for a fresh sandwich in the downtown area this is the perfect place. I’ve been coming to Pike’s for a long time and I’m so happy the quality of the food hasn’t changed. It’s a cute coffee shop/café with everything from coffee and pastries, to breakfast sandwiches, lunch options and soup. I just love the atmosphere of this place, and the food is great. They also make a really, good Italian soda! The veggie sandwich is delicious, and another favorite is the turkey club with avocado.

Ok so this place is pretty cool. The layout is great, the food came out quickly(well it was a sandwich), and the atmosphere is pretty comfortable. One thing about this place I didn’t like was the doors. I don’t like being made a fool and these doors did it to me twice. I don’t like those doors man.

So this was the place I picked to eat my first day of jury duty… I didn’t want to go too far but I definitely did not want to eat subway so I settled for pike just because I was on limited time. So you walk in and it’s actually a really nice and quaint place when it’s not lunch hour downtown. You have a really tiny place and probably 20 or so people inside and a line of lawyers and others putting in orders. So expect a wait if it’s lunch time I had the green chili grilled cheese and it was just ok. I’m a huge fan of grilled cheeses and paying 9 bucks for something that I could probably do myself for about 3 bucks and not have to worry about the crowds or waiting. It was definitely cheesy which was a huge plus but after that it was just any regular sandwich. The way they grilled it panini styled was good too since it was super crunchy! I guess if you want that downtown feel of eating at a quaint little shop then this is your place. However if your in it for the food maybe going to someplace else is better suited for you. I’m thinking early in the morning for a cup of coffee is more what this place should be about. But that’s just me. Keep up the good effort!

Heard about this place before and decided to check it out. The cup of coffee was great and the atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing to enjoy a nice afternoon and do some light reading. Glad I had cash on hand since their minimum card purchase is $ 4. Will have to try their food menu items next time.

We just ordered food for the office for 8 people. It was just under $ 100 and a bunch of cheap, squashed and wimpy sandwiches arrived. Not a good value at all. Not sure what all the hype is about. The sandwiches are very average at an above average price.

I’m going to be brutally honest: the people who work here are the salt of the earth. No joke. Nice, kind, great conversationalists. But no one has a clue what they’re doing when it comes to the espresso bar. I so want to support them, they’re local and awesome and amazing – but if you’re gonna do it, do it right. Amazing ppl, horrible baristas. Sad, but today was the last cup I’ll ever get from them. UNLESS they get some formal great training :)

Apricot Chipotle pulled pork is outstanding! Parking can be tricky because it’s downtown but this place is TOTALLY worth the trouble. Quaint warm atmosphere with lots of healthy menu options. Delicious food, great customer service… a gem in the downtown crown of El Paso :)

This is an interesting place. It’s in a very cool building in Downtown El Paso right next to kipp’s cheese steaks and Tea+Garden right along East Mills. Pike Street Market is much more than a deli. They offer a wide variety of coffee and espressos, sandwiches, soups and salads, baked goods, teas, and my favorite — their italian cream sodas. Everything is made right in front of you and they have plenty of seating, though it seems a bit small at first. I found them during Melt: Last Saturdays Downtown and I was pleasantly surprised to see how awesome this place was. I’ve been back a few times now and they never disappoint. There really isn’t much parking(it is downtown after all) but the east mills parking garage is just one block away. And on your way to PSM, don’t be afraid to try some of the other places nearby =D At times I’ll get a sandwich from kipps, a cupcake or tea from tea + garden and an italian cream soda or coffee and even more food from Pike Street Market.

Glad to finally find a «go to» lunch place in downtown El Paso. This place is great and is family run so you know they only put out the best food. I’ve had the chicken salad sandwich and the turkey Fred and they both were great sandwiches. Highly recommend this place next time you’re looking for lunch downtown.

I stopped in here in the middle of a museum visit. The grilled ham and cheese sandwich was delicious and went well with the soup. The coffee was hot and strong, and went well with the cheesecake.

I have eaten there 3 times now and all three times have not disappointed. I’d give it five stars except I save those for restaurants that really blow my socks off. The sandwiches are tasty, the salads are very fresh, the soup is delicious, and the raspberry iced tea is refreshing. My only complaint is lack of seating but it is also partly an allure of a local café.

Fresh Baked Bready daily, quaint little spot and cool employees … The fluffy enormous bread is a great backdrop to the saucy buffalo chicken sandwhich. Simple yet delectable. If you stop by for lunch u might want to hang on to the second half for an early dinner snack.

Our best lunch so far in El Paso. The food is great and they don’t give you too much of it. The deserts looked great but I didn’t try them. I really liked the unsweetened raspberry tea.

Not a whole lot I can add to what everyone else has said. I can say that it is on the small side(about 20 people max.) and our food was freshly made and tasted great. The music was on the old side, would have expected something a little more Indie or Ethereal. And I was wearing shorts, tshirt and flip-flops. I wasn’t being loud so maybe that is why I escaped the wrath of the owner :-)

This is one of El Paso’s few local true sandwich shops. Good coffee, great selection of sandwiches. I have had the hot capocollo, the BLT, and I think a club. All prepared to order, quality ingredients, friendly service. I like the atmosphere too, wooden floor and local paper available to read while you eat. Support this local shop.
