Dane’s is the best steakhouse in El Paso. It is priced like the steak chains(Ruth’s Chris, Flemings, Sullivan’s, Capital Grill, Morton’s, Smith & Wollensky’s, Del Frisco’s, Bob’s Chop House), but Dane’s lacks the finesse and polish the chains, but lacks the charm and personal attention one might expect from a local place. For what Dane’s charges one would expect BIGCITY service, menu, and atmosphere. Dane’s seems like it wants to be in the big leagues, it just doesn’t seem to pull it off. That’s not to say you won’t enjoy Danes.

Drinks were good but expensive. Food was over seasoned. Do not recommend the Lobster bisque, it tasted like cream of Tabasco.

We went to Dane’s Steakhouse for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. It was wonderful! Much more than I expected. Everything was delicious! I went there very dressed up thinking you know, fancy schmancy. However, looking around, yes it is more of an upscale eating experience, yet, you don’t have to be dressed to impress. I noticed other diners in comfortable casual clothing. I wish I knew that! But like I said, it was our anniversary so why not do it big! Very nice to know that El Paso does have this quality establishment. I am not going to lie though when we pulled up to the center that the restaurant is located in, I was like oh oh.(It sits right next door to a cleaners.) I thought it was an individual restaurant in its own building. But like I said, well worth getting through the door. Totally great experience inside. Will definately save the pennies to dine for another occasion.

Dane’s is a contemporary and metropolitan steakhouse located in the middle of El Paso. When sitting in the dining area, there was no indication you were even in the Southwest or far West Texas. We stopped in after some business downtown, around 4PM. The place was empty, but the staff were very welcoming and service was fantastic. The food was way above average and the steak was perfect. The only downside is the steak was pretty expensive for El Paso. There are less expensive steaks of the same quality in Beverly Hills. So for a strip mall in El Paso, I thought the prices were a little pretentious. One footnote that I was contemplating not mentioning, is the prep cooks and management are apparently very well versed in F-bombs. There were two guys I assume were management at the bar dropping F-bombs like it was D-day, and the prep cooks were one upping them by MFing this and MFing that. Firstly, let me say I am not some prude, matter of fact the F word is one of my favorite expressions, but in a more casual environment. Second, maybe it was just because we were the only customers in there for the majority of the time, but still it really made me think much less of this place. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, but thought it worth mentioning.

I have been to Dane’s a couple of times, and both times I walked out very satisfied and very, very full. The New York Strip is excellent, and they have several«side» dishes that are very good as well. Macaroni and Cheese, asparagus, and these mushrooms that come in a sweet-savory sauce that are delicious! I am not a veggie person, but these mushrooms are like candy and I am not ashamed to say I enjoyed them on both visits. It is a fancier place than most in El Paso, which only adds to the atmosphere, and the staff are very attentive and helpful. They also have a nice wine selection, but it’s really the food that’s the star.

Not a bad place to spend an afternoon. A little fancy for my taste, but the food is very very not bad and a few of my friends really like it here. Drinks can run a little expensive but the service is fast and attentive. Try it out if you’re in the area and avoiding the regular Cincinnati st crowd.

I was there as part of a business function which was poorly attended. It was a little sketchy b/c for rented rooms, they take you out back, and across a small alley. Inside looked nice though. What was weird though was that they brought out appetizers for my table and after about 2 – 3 minutes, they took them away and moved them to another table, saying that they’d bring it back, although they never did. The point here is that you shouldn’t move food between tables. It would have been better as a buffet setup for the appetizer if they were going to do this. The shrimp was pretty good though. I had the chilean seabass for the entrée. It wasn’t bad and it wasn’t good. It was just okay. The serving size was pretty small for the price. The side I chose was the creamed corn which was actually pretty good. I had the NY cheesecake for desert. It had a gelatinous texture. I don’t recommend this. Overall, I probably won’t return here. The food was okay, but overpriced and the moving appetizers from table to table is borderline unsanitary.
