The service here is frequently phenomenal, but the food is wildly inconsistent. My first time was the parmesan snapper, amazing. My second was the breaded flounder, acceptable. My most recent was a chef’s special of the mahi — dry, but my wife had a crab stuffed flounder that was tasty but poorly presented, lump of rice with some fish thrown on top. My real reason for continuing to go here is the oysters on the half; I’ve eaten dozens now always fresh, but the size is again highly inconsistent — my most recent plate was 6 that added together wouldn’t equal TWO from my prior visit. I notified the manager who said«your right sir, those are all too small» but then he just walked away. I took it as karma for the great plates I’ve received in the past; but I don’t think I’ll accept them in the future. I have a hard time going higher that 3 stars because the service is a product of the environment, semi-fine dining produces an attitude of good service, but the half-hazard kitchen quality control will destroy this place eventually.

A seafood restaurant runs out of lobster. How does this happen?! We arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 in the evening! Most of you may not know this(unless you’re following me… thank you, btw), but I actually visited this place at least 3 or 4 times prior to updating this review. Ergo, this update is definitely necessary and long overdue; especially after last night. There are at least 3 meals that come to mind which justify my updated rating, so we’ll start with the best one: Landry’s Fettuccine. It pretty much consists of a fettuccine with a scampi-Alfredo type sauce and big, juicy shrimp. I don’t really have much to say about this dish, other than… it’s good. Like, REALLY good. I’ve seen plenty of places screw up this very same recipe. And so I’m mostly just relieved that Landry’s nails it with… what I would assume… is their version of shrimp scampi. Nice work, guys! So then I try the broiled seafood platter and I’m like, «Hey, that wasn’t…that wasn’t as good as the fettuccine or the lobster tail. :/«I mean, I didn’t really know what to make of it. But to sum up: the broiled shrimp was the best part. The deviled crab tasted like bread seasoned with Old Bay seasoning. The«fresh catch» was… alright. The shrimp scampi was okay and so was the stuffed shrimp. Only real issue I have with this dish is that there’s no real strong side dish to get excited about. I mean, it comes with rice pilaf, but that’s not really my thing. I always felt like this is a bizarre combo with seafood, but that’s probably just me. And since I’d have to pay extra to substitute a side, I wasn’t about that life. So I enjoyed the dish for whatever it was worth and moved on. And then… last night… I tried the 20 shrimp platter. Well actually, there’s a funny story as to how I ended up trying the 20 shrimp platter: I originally wanted a lobster tail except… the restaurant ran out of lobster. At 5:30 in the evening. Yeah. Already, I’m not impressed. At least the manager himself personally came out and apologized for such an epic seafood failure. It’s like they weren’t expecting customers to order any lobster that day. But I digress. The shrimp platter overall was… pretty pitiful. Let me paint a picture for you: when the fried shrimp is the best part of the whole platter, that really says something about a dish featuring a multitude of shrimp recipes. Let’s do the list, shall we? First, I tried the grilled shrimp. It was bland. That’s it. I don’t really have anything else to say about it. I sprinkled some salt on it and it *sorta* helped but… ultimately this shrimp had almost zero taste. There was also a shrimp scampi. I honestly don’t remember my last scampi tasting this bland either. Was the chef having a bad day or what? That was two for two. Surely, the chilled remoulade shrimp had to be better, right? RIGHT?! *sigh* It was bland, too. So bland I couldn’t finish it. After two shrimp, I was done. My water tasted better. I already mentioned how the fried shrimp was the best part of this dish. Nothing more needs to be said about that. I was really in the mood for a baked potato, so naturally… I ordered one. It was… alright, I guess. Could have been hotter, honestly. At least the inside was fully cooked. Ah well. I suppose the ultimate point of this review was to explain how this place has kinda gone downhill from the first time I did my initial review. And it’s not like the service was bad, although… free tip to new servers out there: don’t TELL customers it’s only your first or second time serving. That exhibits you lack self confidence. We don’t really care if it’s your first or fortieth time serving customers. We just want decent, sincere service. We understand mistakes will happen. Trust me. I’ve been dining out since I was too young to drink coffee or spell correctly. Ultimately, I really, REALLY want to love this place. For now, I remain a loyal fan. I feel as if the chefs need to step up their game in the kitchen a bit. When a restaurant struggles to crank out a HOT baked potato or proteins with SOME seasoning… we have serious issues.

Absolutely horrible service. They didn’t have items on the menu. They changed us incorrectly 4 times. 1st attempt they charged us for shrimp cocktail that we didn’t order. Sides of rice we didn’t order. Ect. It took 4 times to fix the bill. Then after such a horrible experience the manager was insulting to US. We just couldn’t believe that they treated a customer this way. The food was not very. El Paso does not have many options for seafood but this definitely should not be considered. Very expensive also. I ordered fried oysters. The plate came with 12 very small oysters for $ 22.50. I requested another 6 for an additional $ 9 charge. My wife had fried shrimp plate. Again very small shrimp. We do not mind paying for good quality food and service but this was neither. We ordered a whiskey double $ 19 each. Just ridiculous for El Paso.

Treated my family here last night. Waitress took forever to bring out the food! Food was ok but taste no different than Applebee, JUSTWAYTOOVERPRICED! The 4 inch steak & potato for $ 26 is a joke! I will never eat here again! Your better off going to cattlemans!

The service was five stars. They were very friendly, attentive, and pleasant. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very nice bathroom facilities, and fun looking bar. The food was two stars. I had the broiled seafood stuffed shrimp. The shrimp were burnt from over broiling. They were dry and tasteless. The seafood stuffing was a salty bread paste with no evidence of seafood. My wife’s stuffed flounder was not flounder. It was two to Talapia fillets stuffed with the same pasty seafood absent stuffing that my shrimp were stuffed with. They were dry and over cooked too. Waste your money somewhere else that isn’t serving mislabeled food.

I’ve been wanting to try this place since we moved here. I was quite disappointed. The server was great, the inside is nice. The food was below par. The. Akamai had too much breaking & too little for the price. I ordered stuffed founder. It as tilapia fillets with seafood less bread stuffing inbetween the tilapia. I don’t even know how they cooked the stuffing. It looked more like a creamy risotto only with bread. The tilapia was over cooked. I was able to pick it up & it was stuff like cardboard. The reason why I rated it two stars is due to our server & the cleanliness. Not a restaurant I would revisit.

After a full day of appointments in El Paso, we decided to eat dinner before returning home. My wife had the salmon dinner and I had the fried seafood platter. My platter had fish, two kinds of shrimp, oysters, and a crab cake. Both dinners were very good. Service was excellent.

This is the permanent go to for my vendor management team and I — the service is great, atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing after work dinner and drink session. I’ve visited here several times now over the course of my trips and I can say that the food is consistent — and when you’re on the company dime, it’s even better! LOL I have tried the steak and seafood items each time and never walk away feeling unsatisfied. Also, the bar drinks are great — which doesn’t hurt this review one bit…

We had the best waitress! She made the experience even better. Wish I could remember her name. Any time we go out of town, I always research which restaurants we will eat at. Usually, I’ll have quite a few«local» places, and at least one place that is more upscale. Landry’s was our upscale dinner on this trip, and their shrimp plates we absolutely delectable! The four of us each ordered shrimp plates with rice pilaf(which was too spicy for me), and I order chicken strips for my 15 month old. There was so much food, we each had a to-go box to take home. Perhaps we shouldn’t have ordered the delicious stuffed mushrooms and calamari. And the salad. Everything was great. Our food came out quickly, and the service was very good. Will return when I’m in El Paso again.

Service was. weird to say the least. Waitress seemed awkward and was not very knowledgeable about food or alcohol options. They took a while to bring out out watermelon salad and other appetizers. When entrée came out, waitress said the manager wanted to bring us another side of broccoli because it didn’t «look well done». I think it tasted just fine. She came out with additional broccoli and that batch actually tasted under cooked. It wasn’t necessary to bring us more of something we didn’t ask for… Restaurant looks dingy and old. When you walk in, the fish tanks are empty and dirty. Why is that the first thing customers see??? This dining experience was underwhelming to say the least.

This place was very good overall. The building is great with nice décor and a good setting. I wish the bar was separate from the dinning room a little better though. There was outdoor seating and a private room in back. I was here with a group of 9 so I was expecting automatic gratuity and some where surprised by that. We all had different meals and drinks. The drinks did take quite a while to come but the food was well timed. The waitress did apologize for the wait. I had the cedar plank salmon. It was amazing! I loved it and would order that again and again. Friend had the coastal pasta and raved in that as well. The portions looked small but was plenty to full you. Had a friend try the combo dish and was very disappointed so that’s where the miss was. But overall 6out of 9 of us had great meals. The price. …this would be an great place for a date night but not a cheap one. You will pay 30 – 50 dollars per person. The food was worth it but plan to spend when you go. Overall I’d eat here again! Just have to save up to do it.

Ok, here is my review! The ambiance and customer service is great! I’ve never been here and had to wait. Never seems packed. That’s a good thing! The food… Now, I am not a fan of seafood however I do know what good seafood tastes like. I’m from DC. So, typically I don’t go to seafood places out here. However, I do on occasion. We ordered the crab spinach and artichoke dip. It was a 3 of 10. They load it with onions which over powers the dip. Not a good garnish. It’s just ok, wouldn’t order it ever again. I ordered the salmon on cedar topped with crab. The crab definitely tastes made from a can. Wouldn’t spend the extra $ 6 for crab ever. The salmon needed salt. It tasted like it was supposed too with the cedar flavor but lacked a tad of salt. They use the grinder salts so that didn’t work well as salmon needs a finer grind. The salad was good, hard to mess up Romaine! The combination sea food platter was ok but nothing to die for. After coming here, I suspect it’s never full to capacity because it lacks quality for the price. I hate to compare it to Red Lobster but, it’s probably a better buy around the El Paso area. I went back this time around for the Shrimp Fondue but it’s not a regular menu item. Pretty disappointed but what can you do! Unilocal!!! Overall, 3 stars based merely on customer service. Food isn’t all that great! Meal for two with appetizer, 115 $! Not cool for bland food.

Tonight’s dinner was a solid 3 Stars, and that’s not a bad thing. My servers were great(5star) but there were a few little things that really the host should key in on when seating — like not putting someone next to an outside door in the El Paso summer. About a dozen times someone stepped out to take a phone call and I’m blasted with 100 degree heat. My fish was GREAT. My orzo was clumped and tasted like riceoroni. My asparagus tips were great, but the rest mushy. Beers were ICECOLD, and the tiny desert was a perfect ending. Again my server was fantastic and what I came for(fish) did not disappoint.

Wow. What can I say? Everything went perfect! Food was excellent! Service was excellent! Salad was great. Dishes were deliciosssoo! Had been a while since I visited Landrys, because usually in big cities I prefer Papadeaux, but this time around, Landrys came out on top! Now surprisingly, I felt Landrys was more expensive than the latter, but we are 600 miles from nearest ocean, lol. Most plates are mid to upper $ 30.00. Server was on top of his game.

Craving seafood with some class in this dry desert? Landry’s Seafood House prides itself on high quality service and seafood, not to forget happy hour and their specialty mixed drinks. We arrived and were greeted by some beautiful girls, who opened the doors for us. We were quickly seated on a Good Friday afternoon and our server quickly attended us. We started off with their famous salad bowl with garlic bread and watermelon margarita. The server made sure our sweet teas were never left empty and even brought us a second round of salad with their specialty house dressing. My entrée was the Fried Seafood Platter, included butterfly shrimp, crab cake, fried fish and a stuffed shrimp all of which was rich in flavor! Landry’s is a chain known for their seafood, but it’s their steaks that I use to come here for. For about $ 30, you can get a decently sized filet mignon and it’s pretty good. It’s been a long time since I’ve been inside a Landry’s. So, when I Unilocaled«seafood» and found out that Landry’s is only a block from my hotel, I couldn’t resist. Ambiance & Service: I dined here for a late lunch or early dinner. Most Landry’s that I’ve been to has a bit of a wait. I had zero wait at this Landry’s and was seated right away. But I can tell that they do get busy during the evening just by the looks of their parking lot on my way out. The set up of this Landry’s is similar to most of their restaurants. Here, you get a view… a view of the 10 freeway and Mexico. My server was Ozzie and all I can say is… he is the best. He’s knowledgeable about the food, professional, and very attentive. The Food: Like I stated earlier, I usually get one of their steaks. But on this visit, I decided to mix it up and get some fish. I’ve been eating a lot of fish lately, specially a lot of tilapia. So when I came to lunch at Landry’s, might as well have what else… tilapia, of course. I got about 8 oz of this stuff and it was lightly sauced/seasoned, grilled to a perfect texture, and wasn’t a fishy fish. Tilapia usually doesn’t fill me up, but at Landry’s it did. Great pick on this visit. Overall, I’m still a fan of Landry’s, especially this one. Good food options and great service equals a happy Unilocaler.

Best happy hour menu. Add to that the bar staff where the menu specials from 3 – 7 are served are very attentive and friendly. Drink specials and appetizers are on the happy hour agenda. $ 4 – 6 for both varied drinks and appetizers. Martinis, beer, wine, and some special cocktails. Great deal
