My family is moving to Germany soon and for one of our last meals we wanted some good mole and generally good Mexican food. We had heard good things about kikis so we thought we’d try it. BADPLAN!!! Although I did not get sick(plus) I did have some minor GI distress after wards. My mothers mole was bland and seemed to have been cooked days prior. She had bones in her chicken and ultimately wound up only eating the beans and rice. My dish was a burrito, how do you mess that up. My meat was dry and seemed to have been cooked at least a week ago, I also somehow managed to get my own bones in my meat. How that happens in ground beef is a mystery to me. The lettuce was sad and kind of rubbery. The beans were bland and stereotypical Mexican restraunt beans. My stomach was not pleased with my meal. Ultimately I would not go there again, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else.

The best most authentic Mexican restaurant you will find in El Paso or anywhere else for that matter.

What can be said about Kikis that really hasn’t already been said? It’s a family restaurant and you’re going to enjoy yourself. The ambience is quaint with news clippings and high school spirit posters. The staff is typically friendly, although asking for several refills of the delicious chips and salsa can get you a look that says«really?!» The machaca is incredible and worth a try. It won’t be a staple in my diet because it tastes way too good to even be close to good for you. I’ve tried a few of their burritos and have to say that they are incredible. Oh, they are also huge! The waitress said they were«normal size.» Well you only need one, that’s for sure. The fajita meat is some of the best my wife and I have had in El Paso. Overall a great place to go when you want some delicious, casual food. At least give it a shot once!

This place is definitely 5 stars, we are from New Mexico and we’re surprised how authentic this Mexican restaurant was red and green chili was on point. Will definitely eat here again.

Tacos tacos tacos!!! Probably the best tacos in the world!!! Get the taco plate… I like the chicken but my husband likes the brisket. The tortilla the taco comes in makes it so delicious. I would eat this everyday if I could. Keep it up kiki’s!

Been here twice in one week… This is Da Bomb place in ELP for Mexican food! All the hype about the Machaca’s are true. They are good. Will be back. You don’t go here for the atmosphere but for the food. Both times have had great service too… hmmm good food and good service. Its a rarity these days. Just saying!

Excellent place to get Mexican food. Great place to take people from out of town. Looks like a hole in the wall, but it is authentic.

I want to write a love letter to the machaca plate here. It’s perfectly seasoned meat over a fried egg, covered with green chilies and glorious queso and served with rice and beans. It’s absolute heaven. Home cooked style at its best. I love the chicken, but the brisket is really, really good too. My husband likes the enchiladas from here but the machaca holds a special place in my heart.

I grew up in the Houston area with some pretty amazing Mexican/tex-mex food. For the past 5 years living in multiple cities, I haven’t been able to find anything that compares. One bite of Kiki’s beef fajitas and I realized this place would be my favorite go to for Mexican food!(I’ve also been to L&J once and definitely prefer Kiki’s) The beef was very flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked! I asked for the meat to be browned and caramelized, and they certainly did that! It wasn’t tough/chewy/grisly at all — although it had more of a steak marinade flavor than fajita flavor. But with the delicious Caramelized onions & long green chilis in a corn tortilla w/a bit of guac, they were by FAR the best fajitas I’ve had in years. I ate the whole plate — which I RARELY do. Beans and rice were okay. Salsa had a kick but not too much flavor. My husband ordered the brisket machaca and loved it. Even though brisket is probably my favorite meat, I wasn’t a huge fan, mainly bc I don’t like things all mixed up. But I also thought the brisket had a strange flavor. I considered flan for dessert but it’s almost $ 5 for a very small serving. Can’t wait to go back and eat more fajitas!!! Or maybe carne asada or enchiladas…

Hands down the best Mexican food in El Paso. The portions are more than enough, and I’ve never left not satisfied with the service or food. The guacamole is delicious! I would recommend the enchiladas, fish tacos, and chicken machaca. The service here is incredible, always very attentive.

I ordered the machaca w/crab, and I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t even know what machaca is, but what I do know is that it’s delicious and at some point it was showcased on the Food Network. The location is a stone’s throw from Juarez, Mexico and the store front looks like any dive bar I’ve ever seen, but my experience on the inside was not what I expected. The environment was casual and relaxed. The wait staff was polite and respectful. The food was outstanding.

We drove through El Paso and went here for the authentic Mexican food. Overall the place has some excellent chips and salsa and some good standard Tex mex food. I like the location because there is a lot of old churches and historic buildings in the area.

I came here while visiting El Paso. My cousin suggested it and assured us it would be great. There was a 20 minute wait at 11:30 am on a Friday. Again my cousin assured our group it would be worth the wait. We sat at the bar as we waited and ordered our drinks. The manger brought us menus so we could start looking. Everything sounded amazing. As we wait more people keep coming in. This place is popular! We are seated and we order. Of course I had to choose the Machaca with brisket. If it’s the best thing Aaron Sanchez ever ate I want it. Other items ordered in our party was crab tacos, and caldo de res(beef soup). I also ordered a michelada. I think it had another name there but I can’t remember it. Their mix is homemade and very tasty. They only serve beer and wine here. The Machaca was delicious. Tender brisket, great spices and a nice green sauce topped with cheese. The beans and rice were very good too. Salsa was spicy. Kiki’s also offers daily specials. The customer service was very good. Everyone was nice and friendly and accommodated all of our requests. To top it all off I was impressed with the prices. It was a steal actually. 5 people, coffee and two drinks was around $ 45. If I visit El Paso again I will definitely return and maybe I can have dinner with Aaron Sanchez. :)

I used my trusted and true Unilocal to determine where to go for some delicious Mexican food in El Paso. And, my fellow tempers were not incorrect that the machanga is amazingly delicious. Based on the reviews I ordered the brisket and it was freaking awesome! So awesome that I would probably go back even with a plethora of issues and negatives. Negative stars for the wait for food-over 25 minutes is crazy for a too go order. The food was too expensive-horchata and machanga for almost $ 20? They also got my order wrong and gave me flour tortillas instead of corn. And, the horchata is gross! It was sweet and tastes like a packet of koolaid or ale products was thrown in some water to make it. Alas, I would still go back for that brisket-it was spicy without being too hot with delicious flavor. The rice and beans were also authentic and yummy!

The food was delicious and fresh! We ordered the small guacamole for an appetizer, it was only $ 3.95 and every bit of delicious! It was a good size, we couldn’t even finish it(even though I ate some with my meal). For brunch, I ordered the brisket Machaca with an over easy egg instead of scrambled. It was wonderfully delicious! A little spicy but tolerable. The tortillas were fresh and hot. They bring a pitcher of the drink you ordered, which is great. We never ran out. Our server was good, checked on us a perfect amount and delivered our food correctly. I give them 4 stars because they only have one bathroom and for a place this size, it’s unacceptable. Also, either the air conditioner was broken or they don’t have one. It was super muggy and hot inside. This is the worst climate to eat hot, saucy, Mexican food in. All in all, their food is amazing and service was good.

When I ask El Pasoan where to eat, I almost always get Kiki’s on the list so off we go. It was old and kind of dingy. We were greeted, sat down and got our water. The waitress took a while to get out order. I understand it lunch time but wow. Hubby ordered carne asada plate and I ordered the fish taco plate. There was nothing special with what we ordered. Carne Asada was ok and my tacos, meh. The fish was very lightly seasoned and the beans didn’t taste like anything. The guacamole and the chips were good though. Probably not coming back but at least I can say I’ve been to Kiki’s.

So having just discovered the magic that is machaca I had to try Kikis. Apparently renowned for their machaca(and my friends repeatedly telling me it was the best) I went in on Thursday morning to try it. Location is an old restaurant. Not necessarily the best part of town but Piedras is an interesting street. Ample parking in the back but it can be a little annoying pulling out. Service was quick, polite, and attentive. I ordered the chicken machaca. Server was quick to bring out chips and salsa. Chips were very fresh and crispy. A little too salty for me but I am quickly learning that authentic mexican = alot of salt. The salsa had a perfect amount of heat and flavor. I downed it quickly and the server brought me more when requested. The machaca came out in short order. I’ll start by saying that the dish was just beautiful to look at. A glorious mix of colors I was loath to destroy such a work of art. The food came out a couple minutes before i got my fresh tortilla so that was annoying. But I was starving and quickly dove in. The machaca had good sized pieces of chicken mixed throughout its melty goodness. Each bite is an explosion of heat and flavor. My only complaint is that I think there was too much sliced poblano in the dish as it seemed to be everywhere. Additionally, the tortilla they give was a little small for the amount of food you get with the dish. Two tortillas would be perfect. The tortillas themselves were piping hot and fresh from kitchen. I imagine they would have brought more no problem had I asked. The machaca is a HUGE plate. I was full the entire day. Expect food coma to ensue with this dish if you eat it all. Service was good and the servers worked hard to keep their tables clean. Definitely worth the visit for the machaca! Side note, because the building is so old, A/C was not the best although the fans were working overtime. So the sweat you get from eating the food will not be quickly chilled. But its worth it!

Went to Kiki’s for lunch with my wife and thought the food was pretty good. I had tacos and my wife had the fish taco plate. The fish tacos were pretty good and the overall atmosphere was good. My brother in law comes here frequently and recommends the burrito.

I have been here various times and wasn’t fond of this place. My partner and I were looking for a place to eat dinner, so he suggested Kiki’s, since he had never been. This is the first time that I actually enjoyed it. Maybe because it was a Tuesday evening and not that crowded? I ordered the flautas and they were delicious! I got the beef ones, not greasy at all, an order of 4 came with rice and beans, also delicious. My partner ordered the chicken enchiladas, he loved them, as they were melted with tons of white cheese! I will be back here, but on a weekday.

Kiki’s is this older restaurant in older El Paso known for being on the Food Network for their excellent beef machaca. And they deserve all the accolades they get for their machaca. It is superb. Ambiance is not fancy and usually crowded. There is a bar side and also a sit down side, but children are welcome in the bar area. You will find baby carriers scattered across the floor next to tables so mind your walking and your talking. Service is just OK. Lots of reminding the server what you need. Gets old. They are clearly understaffed, but always busy? Mismanagement somewhere. We saw where they kept some stuff, so we helped ourselves after getting tired of asking. Taboo I know. Overall an OK experience. My machaca was so good I have to go back. Hoping for better service next time. Or if not, I know where the goodies are.
