I love hookah. This place has really good flavors. It’s always clean, something rare in hookah bars. I enjoy going to chill and talk with fiends.

The Darkroom is a very nice, and comfortable, place to hanging out and have a good time. The Hookah had a good taste, flavor, and lasts a good while. Other places I couldn’t really taste the flavors. The guy at the counter is real nice and keeps to himself so you’ll need to call him over if you need more coal. Which is not a problem cause I’m no lazy ass. Gets a good crowd at about 10−11pm. Also this place actually has couches so you can comfortably lounge out and chill will you hangout and smoke hookah with your friends. It is BYOB and have a charge fee but on the upside there is No entry fee.

In search of a hookah joint on the eastside, we found this place. We decided to go because it was open kinda late and was BYOB for an advertised $ 2 cover. Which we thought was pretty decent for BYOB. We walked in, it was dark(duh dark room, i know) and the kid(basically) at the register told us it was Cash Only. First conundrum of the night, so we went across the street to get our beer and money. We got out cash, went back only to now be told that cover was $ 5 because we were BYOBing. That sucked. Whatever, we were really determined to smoke hookah and just went with it, hoping the shisha and session would be bad ass. We should have just turned around, what happened next was really pathetic. It’s $ 12 for a single hose, one flavor. It’s $ 14 for a double hose. Blends are $ 2 extra. We ended up getting a double hose and a blend. $ 16. If you add the cover we were in the hole about $ 40 at this point. They use Al-Waha which is just-ok shisha. The hookah was brought to us. They didn’t bother to start it. Their quicklite coals ash like crazy. The holes are uneven. The foil isn’t pulled taut to keep the foil from touching the shisha and thus burning it. The fact they used quicklites basically told me I was in for a fun(sarcasm) night of heat management. They never came around once to check on us. We had to ask for more coals ourselves. The kid was too busy sitting down smoking his own hookah to worry about the customers. We were kinda bummed but went for a refill. When I pulled off the foil on our cashed bowl I realized what the problem was. They had no clue how to pack a bowl properly. They were placing less than 10 grams of shisha into a medium egyptian bowl. If you don’t know anything about the art of hookah, that is HALF of the bowl, which is ridiculous. Which caused the hookah to burn so quick and left us smoking ash from their crappy quicklites other than the shisha itself. This place was opened to fill a need, I get that. But if you’re going to fill a need, make sure that you know what you’re doing. I’ve been smoking hookah for almost 7 years, I have my own set of hookah tools and pipes, I was better off making my friends pay $ 4/gallon for gas to chill at my place than giving this place the time of day. Dear Owners, if you want to learn how to run a REAL hookah business that will attract REAL hookah lovers you can message me. If not, good luck with your business, I won’t be returning.
