Great little greasy spoon restaurant hidden in a neighbourhood, excellent old fashioned burgers and the chorizo fries are delicious! Only one drawback is the El Paso style owner. talk about a loud braggart! If he mentioned his number one food I was gonna hit him! Also the restroom. whew!!! But overall great food!

OK I walk in and sit down. Waiter asks me what I want. He points to the menu items and says these are what everyone loves. The burger and chorizo fries. I say ok lets do this. They come out separately with a time gap of approximately 10 mins. So now I have to slow down on eating the burger so that I can eat them both together. OK I can deal with that… sort of. But then the fries once they arrive are not fully cooked and are loaded in a sea of grease at the bottom. Mind you I am not here to eat healthy food. But this was ridiculous. Overall the burger was very good, but the timing issue and the lack of fully cooked fries doesn’t allow me to five a full five star rating. Oh and yes it is a real dive atmosphere, which is ok by me.

Me and my bf went to check out this place & it was the best decision ever! I love a good burger & this place really has the best. Don’t let the look of the place fool you. It’s a little run down and it looks like it used to be house. Don’t get me wrong, it could use a little decorating but if the food is good, people will come. All the staff is very friendly! It seems to be run by a family which is nice! I recommend this place if you’re in the area & not in the area ! It’s worth the drive!

Going to Chuco’s is just like going to your Favorite Uncle’s house. As soon as we parked we were already greeted very warmly. We quickly find out that the place was cash only and we only had so much cash with us but Uncle said–«don’t worry about the money. Let’s worry about feeding you guys». Told you– Fav Uncle’s house! We ordered 2 dabble dabble and loaded fries. While we were waiting, I couldn’t stop myself from looking around — Small, bar on one side and tables on the other side. Food came and wow— so fresh looking. Loved the fact that burger was cut in half! Yay! It looked heavy and full of fresh ingredients but when I picked it up, I was so surprised that it held together. Took my first bite and wow, solid burger! It’s one of those places that it was all about the simplicity of the food. Simple but solid! No frills, no bells and whistles just simple solid yummy burger. By the time I took my 3rd bite my hubby already finished his! I think it’s safe to say the he loved this place! The loaded fries were a little on the greasy side but they were also good. Luckily we walked out of there with enough money to pay for our meal and loaded tummies! Don’t expect too much, just eat the food and you will leave happy! We will be back, very soon!

Great burgers, very juicy, very tasty. Main burger has like 10 cheeses which makes it very tasty, but obviously not great for your health. Don’t like the fact that they don’t have tap water available, or at least not offered. Service is great, regularly even greeted by the owner. Atmosphere is cozy, neighborhood-ish, and relaxed.

As far as burgers go, I am a burger purist. Fancy toppings on a burger do not make it great. A great burger is one that manages to balance the classic meat to lettuce, tomato, and pickle ratio. Cheese, onions, and mustard are a plus! Chuco Burger marries all these classic flavors perfectly! Hand made patties, cheese, pickles and a Texas helping of mustard and I am in HEAVEN! Throw in some delicious crisp fries with melted white cheese and chorizo on top and I might just marry you! While I’m not a big fan of salsa, I must say theirs has the right amount of jalapeño kick and tomato tang to make me a believer! The place is just a little diner inside a Dallas Cowboy bar and I’m ok with that. It is definitely a diamond in the rough! Possibly El Paso’s best burger in my book!

Have you ever had french fries that have been microwaved? Well if order the Chorizo Cheese Fries you will. I drove across town to try this place, I loved that it was a dive and only took cash. The food has to be amazing, right? Wrong. While I was standing there waiting on my order I heard the unmistakable sound of a microwave beeping and door being opened and closed I prayed it was some horrible hallucination. Alas, it was not. My first fry told the true story of an amazing, fresh fry that had been microwaved to melt cheese on top of it. I was sorely disappointed, did not finish my order and left sad. I won’t be back to try the burger that they are«famous» for.

Dabble-Dabble Chuco Burger w/Cheese($ 7.95): It’s a solid burger. Tasty meat, rich cheese. Topped with lettuce and tomato. Soft bun. Overall, the burger was easy to bite through. The only thing I didn’t care for was the mustard. I like mustard, but the overwhelming and prominent taste of mustard on the burger was just not my thing. Also, I had intensely-high expectations about this burger and it was just okay. Chuco Chorizo Cheese Fries($ 5.95): The fries, by itself, is all right. The chorizo and cheese were good ingredients, but not enough to make these fries irresistible. Baked Potato Fries($ 5.95): Sour cream, bacon bits, and butter mix. Same fries, different toppings. I like the concept since it’s supposed to be a loaded baked potato in fry form, but where’s the cheese and scallions? Again, not crazy about this dish. Chuquitos(4/$ 3.75): These are mini fried corn tacos filled with a creamy potato and green chile mixture. Delicious! Pina Colada Chuco Shake($ 3.50): Uhh, AMAZING. This was my first time with a Pina Colada shake and I was blown away. It totally makes sense that it would be good and I’m not sure why no one else is making it, but YUM! This place came highly recommended by local family as it’s one of their favorite places in town. We dined with them and ordered dishes that were recommended as well. It’s a decent place, but it’s not extremely exciting.

The best greasiest burger I’ve had! Loved it. The chorizo fries were enough for 2 – 3 people. If I had a suggestion it would be to clean up the place. It could definitely use some elbow grease maybe a fresh coat of paint and better lighting. And it would be far more convenient to accept credit cards.

A hole in the wall, no doubt. However, the burgers are pretty awesome. One of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh toppings, beef tastes great and their buns are good and toasted so they won’t fall apart. A «must» if you’re on that side of town! Really friendly service!

This place never disappoints. It’s a hole in the wall with incredible burgers. I took my husband for the first time yesterday and he was a little hesitant until we walked in. The owner came over, suggested what we should get and took our order. We both ordered the dabble dabble and split some regular fries. I wanted to try the chorizo fries but my husband wasn’t really into it. I was a little weary about getting the dabble dabble because it’s double meat and wasn’t sure I would finish it. My husband said the ambiance felt like we were at a cook out at an uncles house. Super casual and no fuss. The burgers were so good and juicy. The fries are home made and made to order. My husband loved it. I ate about 80% of the burger. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was so hungry. Next time.

Basic to say the best. Cost vs flavor is what led me to right this review. This is a simple bun, meat, cheese burger. Anyone could accomplish this at home. In fact I’d recommend you buy the ingredients yourself and do so.

Would love to give them 5 stars. The burgers are great and the fries are some of the best I’ve had at a mom & pop place like this. They are cash only with no ATM, so it was kind of a hassle to go get cash from the gas station AFTER we’d ordered, but not the end of the world. My harshest critique has to do with their beer selection: dishwater bud & bud light, not much else. I asked the owner if the beer distributor had them locked into an agreement where they couldn’t sell any other beers and he didn’t disagree. It’s a shame too, because had they had a better selection(Local stuff: Big Bend, Bosque or even just a bottle of Shiner) we likely would have spent another $ 10 – 15. Still, it’s a little gem tucked away in a not-so-well-known location & a great place for locals to take out-of-town visitors.

It’s the only building on the lot but the sign on the roof says Tony’s up top. It’s definitely a dive place that only serves bottled drinks/water and is cash only. When I walked in, I noticed the left half was old diner style and the right was a bar. Immediately I realized it was extremely hard to breathe because of smoke from the kitchen and it stayed that way throughout the visit. I sat myself and the waiter quickly came up to with a menu with suggestions and to take my order. I ended up getting the double double and chorizo fries like otger reviewers recommended. I then visited the bathroom which was pretty run down and gross too but pretty much what you’d expect given the look at the rest of the place. There were only 5 other people when I walked in so I’m not sure why it took 30 minutes for the food to come out. The double double was just a normal burger. The waitress brought out a green chile sauce to go with the burger. It had a good off the bat taste but it went away quickly and tasted bland after 2 seconds, no matter how much I poured on. The chorizo fries were very good and loaded with cheese. It’s nice to see a place that doesn’t skimp on cheese, although it could have used some more chorizo. All in all, didn’t seem to be a out of this world experience like other reviewers seem to have had. $ 15 seems like a lot for a double patty burger with loaded fries and a bottle of water at a hole in the wall. I would have given 2 stars but the waitress was really sweet, attentive, and helpful. I think it’s a family owned restaurant because she definitely took a lot of pride in their food which was nice to see. She was probably the best waitress I’ve ever had.

I wish I could rate this higher, but the gentleman that spent the whole time we were in the restaurant explaining why his burgers are better really put us off. The burger was good, and the fries were delish, but the constant«Well, do you see why we are number 1» was so difficult to get past. Good food speaks for itself. This would have spoken louder if he were not so pushy. If there is a clear good or bad thing about this place, it is the lack of cleanliness. I can’t speak for the kitchen, but the bathroom reeked and had severe maintenance issues. Between the bathroom and the overbearing proprietor, I’ll never be back. Ok to take kids in the day time, but I think it is more of a dive bar at night, so I’d think twice.

It’s an absolutely fantastic burger. The EP411 article voted this the best burger in town so a group of friends and I decided to tackle the list… starting here. The owner was our server(which was pretty cool) and he gave us a few suggestions for food which led to a dabble dabble and a half order of fries. The burger arrived fairly quickly and it was what I expected. It’s a Texas style burger(mustard on the bun) and it was grilled to perfection. Apparently, it isn’t seasoned with salt, pepper, or garlic powder so I’m intrigued as to what is used.(The order said it is brought in from Bakersfield, CA). The fries were fresh and cooked thoroughly. Overall, an impressive burger and well represented as the best burger in town. A friend of mine ordered the chorizo cheese fries and those were great. I’d definitely go back. Two things for future customers: don’t let the look of the building put you off. It’s essentially an old house turned into a restaurant… and bar. Also, make sure to try the chile they have on the table. It was really good. Mix it with ketchup for your fries and you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy!

THe BEST burger I’ve had in El Paso, yet. I was turned on to this place after reading the El Paso 411 article naming this the number one burger joint in the city. Being an absolute burger fan, I decided to start crossing places off that list. This building doesn’t look like much when you pull up to it and not much more once you enter it. One half of the building is a bar and the other half is the seating area with maybe 8 or so tables. As soon as we walked in, the employee was very straightforward. He said something along the lines of «you get what I tell you to get and you won’t be disappointed.» And he was absolutely right. We(or he, rather) ordered the dabble-dabble(double meat, double cheese) and the chorizo fries. What always wins me over is the simplicity of a burger that works so well together. There wasn’t any special sauces or toppings –it was just a good, old fashioned quality burger. Everything just melted when you took a bite. The fries were freshly cut and made; that’s always a plus. The employees are honest with you. Instead of trying to milk us for every dollar we had, they told us to only order one order of fries. Glad we did because that basket is easily enough for two people. Lastly, this place only takes cash, so make sure you bring enough.

They opened the door for us when they were closed! The spot looks like a sketchy bar, but usually those types of spots are the go to spots for food. It shows that these guys are about tradition. Don’t get confused by the Little Tony’s sign because it is literally Chuco’s. Great service we got. Definitely a spot that’s family owned and local to the area, which makes this spot a genuine place to visit if you’re in town for some local grub. I believe it was the owner who encouraged us to try out two of his signature dishes. I’ll go into detail with that. The owner was absolutely adamant about his dishes, showing us how convicted he was with his food. He believes in his food and that is why I have to give these guys absolute props. Simply said and done, these guys took care of us. The Dabble Dabble Chuco Burger with cheese was special. Homemade love and FRESH with TOASTED buns. The Chuco chorizo fries were pretty good too. They give a lot of food for a very generous price range. These guys do care about their customers and their food so I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a delicious spot in the city of El Paso. I believe if thesr guys ever thought about expanding their business acrosd the country, they would dominate. I highly believe in this restaurant and I give it 5 stars.
