Catfish Basket

All fried everything… go here when you have nothing planned for the rest of the day because the portions are huge and ITIS inducing… I had the lemon pepper wings, next time will actually try the catfish, but everyone that did have it looked pretty happy. Also holla at Mr. Wang, he cooks everything fresh himself and comes out to check on you. Service like that cant be found everywhere.

This place is an awesome catfish spot, there’s so much to choose, from burgers to shrimp, and even gizzards that are amazing. Definitely my favorite for comfort foods to go :). Only issue is the small venue for a great place to eat.

Good food. Little pricey. No coleslaw with dinner plate but comes fires and bread… would rather have slaw…
Needs to be cleaned up.

Straight simple restaurant. Had the catfish nuggets, best I ever had besides my moms. Have eaten here twice in one week. Definitely a go to for me from now on.

I’m not a catfish fan but the people at the table said it was lip smacking good. Leave it to me to order the chicken… should have had the gyro! I wouldn’t want to see the kitchen in this place up close… but if you’re looking for good old fashion catfish in a grungy local joint… this is your thing!

I can’t give this place 5 stars, at least not yet. This little spot out in the northeast is by far the best place for fried catfish that i can think of. They offer a variety of things on their menu, from the catfish i mentioned, both in nuggets and full sizes, gyros, shrimp and the best sweet cole slaw in the northeast. I have been lucky enough to try their catfish nuggets and cole slaw so this review is off of those delicious items.
As soon as you walk in you get the divey feel of the place. The times i’ve been there the small t.v. at the entrance always has COPS playing so it’s kinda funny to walk in to that. Service has always been good and with a smile, you walk up put your order then sit down and wait. The booths fill a bit small for me, i’m a big guy, but are still comfortable to sit in. They bring you out your meal and all you see is a mountain of fish, once you move them around you find their fries at the bottom being kept hot by all the fish stacked on top. They ask you if you need tartar sauce since both their hot sauce and ketchup is usually at the booth already, and you get to dig in.
Each bite tastes just as good as the last. Most places that offer these portions will be a hit or miss with a few of the nuggets but every time i’ve been here everything is perfect. I usually recommend places where if you are in the area they are a must go, but with the Catfish Basket, even if you are a far eastsider you have to make the trip to try this place out.

Little hole in the wall type place, so if you judge on appearance you will miss out on some GREAT food! The service was great, we were constantly checked in on to see if we needed anything, we also had my 1.5 year old and he loved it and they were super kid friendly. The catfish nuggets, okra and gizzards are PERFECT! And the portions were huge! We will definitely make this a normal spot and be back for more!

It’s rad. If you land at El Paso airport, take the 10 minute drive north and check this place out.
Big portions of fried food, so if you are on a diet just split one meal with two people: portion control!
We had the fish nuggets, beef gyro, fries and sweet potato fries. I recommend all of them. Tartar sauce, garlic sauce, ketchup and hot sauce were all tasty. Next time I want to try the okra.

Brought the family here for an early dinner. We got a family meal to go. They fried the catfish fresh while we waited, French fries were nice and fresh, and we got extra tarter sauce! I was so glad they fried it after I ordered it. It was hot and fresh and everyone loved it. The people there were very friendly, and explained certain items on the menu.
The price was very fair for the amount of catfish filets we got. And I will definitely be returning!
I’m glad I found this place because there aren’t too many places in El Paso that specialize in fried fish.

good hole n the wall place. A tad pricey but it’s worth the price and portions are huge! I don’t care for the hours of operation since I work late and they close early. But on an off day, its great

CATFISH:??? Why is everyone talking about the catfish? this is the BEST place in town to get a GYRO! I call ahead, because they run out frequently, but it is by far the best in town, and believe me, I have tried them all. I highly recommend it. May be a dive, but the people are friendly and my husband loves the catfish and wings. But make sure you tell them you want them tossed in their hot sauce, otherwise you get just fried chicken wings.

the food here was so good!!! :) the man who rang us up was really nice && he gave us free sweet tea which was really good!!! the catfish nuggets were the best and the prices weren’t bad at all!!!

Today I filled my fix for catfish! Fried and to be honest I have never heard of nuggets nor have I had them but I really enjoyed them today:-) my boyfriend grabbed us some lunch and I was not disappointed. So! The nuggets were seasoned very well and they give you plenty of sauce! If you are looking for a nice greasy meAl then this place is it! Surprisingly the nuggets were not over the top greasy. They also threw in a piece of bone in catfish which was perfectly cooked I was very impressed vans the sauces were all packed nicely so that way if you wanted to mix and match no issues there:)
The only negative thing Is that the French fries were almost all over cooked:(I wished they made those a little more tasty I am a big French fry girl and I can always appreciated a good batch so I would recommend that they step up their fries just a tad other than that an overall solid four star meal and I will be back:-)

Farm raised catfish and Hushpuppies never tasted so good! The variety of service is awesome and fits any need from nuggets to fillets, to whole fish. Don’t like fish? No problem. You can also find burgers and fried chicken on the menu. You «could» classify this place as a «dive» because it isn’t fancy inside and the furniture looks like reused diner booths, but that isn’t the story here: the fried catfish is. It is just good, basic packaging that really satisfies. Reminds me of my Southern roots.

Convenient lunch spot: Large area for to dine in, Off of a main road, lots of choices (various fish, shrimp, and wing options).

This place is like a small hidden gem in the rough. The place it self doesn’t look all that great but has interesting interior. It’s is a small mom and pop restaurant but has great food! The catfish was amazing I would like to go back everyday lol. I had the fried catfish and fries I would definitely love to go back and try something else and get more catfish. Great place!!!

Been here twice now and they take forever for the food to arrive, which means they fry it up fresh, but if you need a quick lunch they do call ahead ordering which I highly recommend.
Food is tasty and portion size is HUGE. I’ve only had the nuggets and hush puppies. Even for me a regular portion of nuggets is too much and I would recommend getting the kids portion unless you want lots of leftovers.
