Worst service! Came in and sat at booth. Only one other table was occupied and no one came to greet or take drink order. Meanwhile, two other booths became occupied and they were immediately greeted and drink orders taken. Guy with long beard that looked like the manager clearly saw us but did nothing even as we walked out. Not coming back to bad service.

This is a good place Togo back in time enjoy a good meal with friends. The interior of the place resembled an old malt shop from back in the 60’s. The food is very tasty.

I love this place. We were aimlessly wandering for a food place on Christmas Day. Everything was closed, except AJ’s. You walk into the 1950’s or 60’s with great music, and the classic diner experience. The shakes are to die for(and that’s that I’m lactose intolerant), the tortilla soup was heavenly, and the hamburgers are…(no words to describe). The meat patty is all made by hand, the ingredients are fresh. I am definitely coming back here. I have driven by this restaurant hundreds of times and never gave it the time of day! I regret not coming sooner.

This place is a nifty 50’s/60’s style diner and even has outdoor seating. I had the roast beef melt and hubby had Hbuger. My sandwich was awesome beef was tender & juicy and had a slice of tomato & green chili both were fresh. Hubby’s buger had some sort of Mexican style cheese sauce on the side which was also very good. French Fries come with the meal and they were very tasty like fresh cut fries. The only drawback would be they open late like around 10am. But, if your in the area or want a destination to go to for a meal this should be on your list to visit.

I went here for my birthday since I have a thing for 1950’s inspired diners and this was the finest experience with food I’ve had to date in El Paso. Just when I thought all hope was lost, I found this place! The décor inside is awesome, it’s very thoroughly laid out and recreates that past look nicely. As I scanned the menu the hilarious pop culture references made me laugh like something out of Pulp Fiction. There’s so many different kind of foods that I actually wanted to eat but when my reuben came I knew I made the right choice! It was amazing, love that it came with a dill pickle. Then for dessert I had a malt and it was done just right, and that’s not an easy thing to do. Will be coming here again soon! VERY satisfied with my experience here. You won a loyal customer and you deserve praise AJ’s

For good burgers and fries AJ’s is a good change from the monotony. The first time I walked in I really thought I could’ve been in a 50’s diner. The only thing is stay away from the dessert. I’ve had better brownies from a school cafeteria and I say that in all seriousness. I even commented that it wasn’t that great to my server and he told me it was probably just me. Try AJ’s out but skip the brownie, you’ll thank me.

I’ve been enjoying this place for years. But it’s on the other side of town so we are only able to go here and there. Upon our visit in Tuesday we discovered some awesome changes. They now have an outdoor seating area and a new music box. Very nice additions to the great food and service.

Great food, except for the chicken fried chicken! It made me very very sick. I would rather not eat there again cause it was one hell of a night after eating their chicken!

Ordered the bacon and guacamole burger with curly fries and it was very tasty! The atmosphere is very relaxing and gives off a 60’s diner vibe. The service was excellent and tasted freshly made!

The last time I reviewed AJ’s the service was lacking. That has since improved and today I was very pleased with it. AJ’s is a throwback 50s style malt shop very much like the one in the movie«Pleasantville». If you liked that you will like this. Today’s review is for the breakfast menu. Our meals rank a solid«not bad» but nothing to go rah rah about either. My wife had her usual machaca plate while I had my very predictable chicken fried steak and eggs. She reported her machaca as OK, not the best she’s ever had but nothing to complain about. Since I’m from southeast Texas I am very nit picky about chicken fried steak. This was without doubt a meal delivered straight from the back of a SYSCO truck. The beef patty is pre-formed breaded and flash frozen somewhere. The gravy is from a dry mix and lacks flavor. The biscuits were light and the over medium eggs were nearly perfect. Coffee refills were frequent and the waitress was very pleasant. AJ’s is worth a trip and we will go back.

Oh Aj’s, how you’ve lost your 1950’s little diner charm. Since I was a child, Aj’s was such a cool place to kick back and the old school diner motif made it so unique. The 50’s, colorful juke box was such a cool relic from the past and to see it operating was such a sight, especially for the little ones. It sat in the middle of the restaraunt as an awesome, functioning center piece for all to admire. They used to have HUGE burgers and mounds of curly fries. I especially loved the shakes and their flavored sodas… all made fresh. It was a cheap and delicious experience that I’ll always treasure in my memories. I guess all I was able to positively experience tonight was nostalgia. The only thing that is large now is the price. $ 26 for two burgers with curly fries and one soda… crazy It didn’t used to be like this, guys. It felt rundown and slow and quiet. The old juke box sits unplugged and moved out of the way. They have a modern day internet juke box that no one is taking advantage of plugged in now in the front of the restaurant. Maybe a few years ago, you would walk in on any given night to loud rock n’ roll, a buzzing crowd, decent prices, greacy burgers and fries, and super fun ambience. I realize the have since built a nice dining patio. Perhaps they are trying to pay off that expense? Who knows. Aj’s is… meh, to say the least. I feel like a little greacy and tasty part of me died tonight.

My boyfriend and I come here every Sunday for lunch when I’m in town. It’s good, decent diner food. I wish the grilled cheese sandwich was a little bigger, but it’s a normal home-made sandwich size. The fries and ranch are delicious, and I love their crumbly ice in the drinks.

I love the Supremes. Topped with chili con queso smothering the fries. I love dipping chicken fingers in freshly made queso. Perfect light lunch or dinner

It has been at least 4 years since I had been to this place. Let me tell you it was as good as I remembered it. The wings are outstanding and everything else is just plain goodness(try a shake). I may not have been raised on the«Westside» but I made it my own quickly enough. Definitely give a try if ever in El Paso with a little bit of time on your hands.

Best breakfast in a long time! My over-medium eggs were perfect! Places usually under cook them, but these were just right. And the bacon was perfect too! Yummy yum yum.

One of my favorite burger joints but definitely check out their items on the lighter side. The veggie sub is very satisfying and paired with a side salad it’s actually pretty healthy. The mocha shake is delicious.

I am extremely picky when it comes to breakfast because I like it my way and can make it at home … so when we landed in Santa Teresa and needed a place to eat I was pretty grumpy when the guy at the airport was vague and said, «Um theres a place for bar-b-que, and a Subway» … for breakfast?! Thank goodness for smartphones and Unilocal!Which easily led me to AJ’s. The place was empty, maybe because it was 10:30 am on a Monday? First glance over the menu I noticed how reasonably priced everything was … fast food priced for a sit down meal, nice! I don’t remember what it was called on the menu but it was the simple breakfast of 1 egg, hashbrowns, 2 pieces of bacon, and toast for under $ 5 … might have been $ 4.49, I can’t even get a decent meal from McGross for that price. My egg was perfect, and I’m a weirdo who only eats the yolk, so I appreciated that it was truely over easy so I was able to enjoy all of the runny yolk. The hashbrowns were PERFECT! I am a perfectionist when it comes to hashbrowns. I hate when they become too soft in the center or don’t have any flavor — cook them with butter! And I believe that’s what AJ’s does … nice buttery perfectly cooked crispy on the outside hashbrowns and then just the right amount of crisp to the bacon. I couldn’t have made it any better myself. All I had to add was a tiny bit of pepper and salt and I cleaned my plate! The only downside was the toast, I appreciate the thought of them not buttering it, but instead bringing margarine out for you to do that on your own — but I do not like margarine at all. I didn’t ask for butter, maybe I should have and they would have provided some for me? Oh maybe I should say what my boyfriend ate? He ordered the Huevos Rancheros, he says, «It was delicious-o» … sorry, that’s all I can get out of him! All in all, if I lived anywhere near AJ’s in El Paso I would eat there often — our waiter was a really polite guy who was attentive but did not hover, the food was delicious, and the value was spot on!

I like this place! We wanted breakfast, but unfortunately, I think breakfast is over at 11 here. The food is pretty tasty though, I had a yummy grilled, southwest cheddar and beef melt and my guy had a nice BLT. We had monster, real, cherry cokes and wonderful customer service. Prices were reasonable too!

here’s another review that i apologize for. it’s taken me too long to get to it and Unilocal!keeps bugging me so here it goes: i don’t even remember what i got, but i would imagine that i ordered something to the effect of a patty melt — because i love ‘em. i DO remember that i was very pleased with my meal and had no complaints, so i’ll give it another try in the future. i’m a big fan of breakfast so that’s what i’ll more than likely go for next time… but it’s really hard to find a breakfast that beats the breakfast i whip together in my own kitchen…
