Delicious food, and some of the best ceviche I’ve ever had! Would’ve been a greater experience if some of the waitresses were a bit more friendlier and accommodating. Took almost 30 minutes for a refill of a glass of water

is a real treat this place, but the parking is not. I had the fish and shrimp ceviche and I loved it, I am inviting some family members so that we can all go on a weekend, that’s how much I liked it. The serving was big I could not finish my plate. They don’t have natural drinks, like lemonade, but they have a good selection from fountain drinks, like Jamaica, tamarindo, horchata, and your typical others. I read from other posts from Google that the service was either good or bad, or the waitresses were rude. That was not my experience. Service was good, fast, and very friendly.

Great portions. When you order a shrimp cocktail, you get a shrimp cocktail. Not a tomatoe/onion filled dish. Ceviche(fish) is good including the agua chiles. Plenty of choices on the menu and a good selection of very cold beer. The small joint gets busy at times and parking sucks, so carpool if you plan to roll with a group.

Went here on a Sunday around 2 my experience was not the best, order the aguachiles, half dozen oysters and ceviche tostada. I have to say I have tasted better aguachile this one was not even hot like its suppose to be had no chile taste they don’t even give you tostadas to eat it with and for my experience with the half dozen oysters they did not come on ice, tired one and it was really warm I was grossed out, oysters are suppose to be fresh n served on ice. But there is a lot of people here. So maybe I’m missing something.

Love it here! I had a Michelada here that tops others! As big as it was, I did not waste a drop! Perfect balance of lime, chili and salt! The fish is really the star– we had the garlic filet and the zarandeado! The freshness of the fish is the key-there’s a fish market adjacent to the restaurant! Everything including the banda in the background adds to the feel!

Went to a party about a week ago & had some decent tasting ceviche, found out where they got it & decided to go have lunch there today. I Ordered the $ 167 mares(sea food soup) expecting to be impressed but was sadly disappointed :(( The waitress asked how I liked it so I let her know that It was over cooked & couldn’t eat it because it was to rubbery to chew, to which she said nothing and didn’t offer an alternative. Will NOT be going back any time soon nor will I be recommending it to anybody.

Their food is very delicious no doubt about that. We get the camarones empanisados and costa azul and also charolas and you get what you pay for. 10 stars for great food. But 1 or even NO stars for customer service. The waitresses are horrible! They are incredibly rude and look annoyed to attend you. They take forever to take your order and dont even bother to check back with you if everything is okay. Im NOT hating just speaking facts that thats not professional at all, you are better off calling in to order and taking your food home :)

I’m sure the mariscos are good. But I’ll never know because I hate eating cold seafood. This place should just stick to that in my opinion. All of their food besides the mariscos is horrible and non authentic. The only thing good are the beans… But I don’t feel like farting all night. So yea.

Thank you Unilocal for helping me find this place. I was looking for a good mariscos place in the SGV, and this place was out of this world. My Spanish is pretty horrendous, and the wait staff had to call someone in the kitchen to help take my order. My friend had ordered the salmon and was delicious. Really simple grilled preparation with primarily salt and pepper. I really wanted ceviche, and they had several to choose from. I chose the ceviche nayarit, which I assumed was their house special. The ceviche is made to order, because my shrimp were pretty large pieces and still grey and ‘cooking’ in the lime broth during our time there. There is also fish and octopus in it, very delicious and very fresh. Weekends they also have a small mariachi band that plays as well.

They have great ceviche and mojarras. Seafood taste fresh. We’ve been there 5x and only one time we had a rude waitress. It’s kind of a hole in the wall place, so don’t expect 5 star dinning. Good food though.

i had the BIGGEST craving for a michelada. This craving was beyond my control! I had to satisfy it no matter what. I would have went to Armando’s in San Gabriel to fulfill my michelada craving because I fell in love with it before but because of my commute for work, I wasn’t able to make it in time before closing. *Cue in Unilocal!* The lady that works here speaks no English so we had to bust out our Spanglish but she took it all very well. She even made jokes and played along with us! The michelada definitely hit the spot. I spent all day thinking about it. ITWASJUSTWHAT I NEEDED! You get to choose what beer you want in it(I went with Corona) and not only was it good. it was huge! They offer complimentary chips and salsa. We also got some tacos. The fish tacos were okay. you’re better off getting those at Taco Nazo or La Bufadora. The shrimp tacos were good! Plump and citris-y. I would also recommend carne asada as well. They don’t have any carnitas here but that’s okay with me. Maybe i’ll come back to try their ceviche! NOTE: I don’t know if its an every night thing but there was a live mariachi band the night I came!

First off I like to thank Marisol C. for recommending this place. I’m on a cerviche kick and this place really knows how to do it. For $ 5 I got a Cerviche de Pescado tostada that had more fish on it then I’ve ever seen at a mariscos joint. This place is well worth the money. LA Weekly should put this on their list of best cerviche in los angeles and remove that crappy La Cevicheria on Pico & Crenshaw that they rave about. I will say this place is very«authentic». You may not feel comfortable coming here if your not of the hispanic ethnicity. They do «keep it real» here. But if you love cerviche like me just ignore all that and stop by for one of the best cerviches out there.

Food was awful! My mom is from Nayarit. I’ve been there many times. This was not authentic, which I wouldn’t mind, except it also was not delicious. The ambiance was uncomfortable. They blast fans at you from all directions, not air conditioning, fans. A conjunto consisting of one guitarist with an amp and an accordionist blasted some corrido at the table next to us. It was kind of an assault on the senses. The food was the worst part. The coctel I ordered was without flavor. It was like a cold shrimp soup. A waste of perfectly good shrimp. My boyfriend ordered the filete sarandeado. It was undercooked and inedible. The tortillas were good. The horchata I got was not made from scratch, it had that syrupy flavor achieved by mix from Costco. We got the heck out of there as fast as we could. Huge disappointment.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… how I wish we had one of these in San Diego… sigh… Anyways, back to the review. Food ordered(we ordered for 4, but we could have fed like 6, maybe even 8 easily): Ceviche de Nayarit 8.5÷10 — Very solid ceviche… this thing is also huge. True, it’s like $ 20, but the plate was HUUUUUGE. This can easily be shared by about 5 people… lol. Caldo de Siete Mares 9⁄10 — This thing is excellent! It even had a HUGE half lobster inside this thing. HIGHLYHIGHLY recommended. I’m a little biased as I’m a huge soup person, but this is amazing. So much seafood in this thing, and really tasty. Filete de Tilapia Zarandiado 8⁄10 — This is also HUUUGE. It was so big it was served on a metal tray instead of a plate. On the plate was straight up 3 gigantic tilapia filets grilled. The fish was really tasty. Rice and beans were just so-so, but that’s hardly a big enough criticism to pan this. Lots and lots of fresh tortillas 8⁄10 — FREEEEEEEEEEE so much tortilla. So good. Décor: Typical old looking mexican restaurant. Pretty standard for these types of joints. The patio where was sat was nice and cool. Service: Very nice servers. Helped us greatly in ordering, although we ordered too much… haha. Still, very nice. Would I recommend? YES. YES. YES. So much value. So much seafood.
