Suzie’s Hallmark Shop

I found this store to be clean, organized with very friendly and helpful sales ladies! Greeted me upon my coming into the store and gave me a nice good bye when I finished my purchase. Told them I just moved to the area and this was my first time in their store. They told me they hoped I would return ! Yes! They pointed out items in the same category as things I was shopping for and made me feel very welcomed. Thank you ladies you rock !!

I’ve been coming to this store for as long I can remember it being here. I’ve always had good service here. The ladies that work in here are friendly and sweet. If you need any assistance, they are always ready to help. I can’t recall a time I’ve come in here and they haven’t greeted us cheerfully.
I mostly come here for cards. They carry a nice selection of sympathy cards. Other stores tend to have a pretty tiny section. The birthday section is also pretty massive compared to say a grocery or drug store.
I try to avoid bringing my son with me if possible. He just loves the selection of Hallmark Christmas ornaments, why I have no idea. We just have no more room for this stuff, darn you Hallmark. I don’t care how many times you put these on sale, I don’t need anymore. Uggghhhh.
This is a good place to come though if you get roped into attending a dreading baby shower. They have all the cheesy stuff you need for your gifts. Or you can be like me and buy the gift and send it along with regrets. Oops, hope no one I know is reading this.

I have stopped patronizing this store, due to the rudeness and incompetence of the employees. There is no excuse for it.

This review is based on customer service. My wife and her mother have been collecting ornaments since the 70’s together. Well her mom passed away almost three years ago. My wife wanted to carry on the tradition even thought it was painful to see the new ornaments and know her mom wasn’t there with her. This hallmark and it’s employees even knowing of her moms passing never acknowledged her passing or shared a kind word. In fact it was opposite, poor customer service mix ups in membership purchases etc. this took my wife’s yearly shopping from a fun event to an unpleasant one. Now I know what you might be thinking that this is an isolated event but it wasn’t. It just seems that the ladies working behind the counter have lost touch with personalized shopping and the owner is only concerned with profit. My wife is now shopping at another hallmark and we hope if you have experienced this same type of behavior you share it here too. Hopefully the owner will realize that customers should be treated like family not a dollar sign.

Guess I’m in the minority here. I came in to buy Father’s Day cards. I was the only customer not greeted by any of the three ladies working, nor was I offered any help during my visit, as the other customers were. This probably worked out favorably for them, because I browsed more and ended up buying more cards than I’d planned on, five in total.
Cashier service was cordial but not warm. I felt like I was an inconvenience, or not welcome. The lady tried to look up my Rewards number, only tried 1 phone number, and let me fill out a new card. She said just an email address would suffice, but called later to ask for a physical address. Today I looked up my own info and found my existing Rewards account, which they could have done for me at the store. Since you can buy Hallmark cards at a number of places and still get Rewards points and since the service was nothing to write home about for me, I doubt I’ll be coming back in.
I used to come in here every July for their ornament première, and bought a lot of ornaments until they all started falling apart, and concluded the quality’s not that great for $ 17-​$ 25 per piece.

Been coming to this Hallmark since high school to get bday cards for girlfriends and family. Always very pretty inside and great service. If you want a model of what a Hallmark store should be with great customer service this is it!!!

They always have the right cards for mothers day, birthdays and especially anniversaries..

Short and sweet. THE BEST Hallmark shop in San Diego. If you are in the area stop in and say hello to the ladies, you will not be disappointed. I do all my card shopping here 100% of it and my little gifts as well.

This is one of the very best card and gift shops ever in San Diego, esp. for East County. I have lived here 25 years and am very particular. Even though the store is small to medium, the selection is very good and the women who work there are very helpful. Once you have shopped there a couple of times, it is very disappointing when they are closed and you have to go somewhere else!

This is a cute little card shop with a surprisingly large variety of cards and unique gifts. The ladies who work there are very cheerful and helpful! It’s buried back in the Von’s/ Joann’s shopping center, not to far from Carmel’s Ice Cream and Chicago on a Bun.
