Very tasty, had the chicken soup and spring rolls. Never had spring rolls before but they were delicious!

This review is based on a compilation of several dozen different experiences over the years. I have held off on leaving this review for too long but it is time. I live right across the street and get cravings for phở numerous times a week and even though this restaurant is conveniently located for me, my cravings more often than not disappeared after thinking about eating here or having to drive somewhere else. Out of the dozens of times I’ve gone here, about a handful of times I have left satisfied. The broth is almost always completely bland; I find myself having to drench it in hoisin and sriracha sauce. A good broth doesn’t need much condiment and I’d rather not use it if I don’t have to. The portions are abysmal. My go-to order is a large special combination dac biet, which is pretty much supposed to be everything and the kitchen sink. At one time, they started skimping on the meat so much, that I asked for an extra plate and took out the meat and put it on there. There was exactly 3 tiny pieces of steak, 3 pieces of tendon, 3 pieces of flank, etc.; very formulaic. I asked for the server to come over and pointed it out to him and asked«this is it?» He stated that that’s the recipe they go by, but seeing as how embarrassing it all looked laid out, he brought out a couple extra pieces of steak without my asking. After this incident I believe it kind of shook them up and I haven’t had huge gripes with the portions since. There have been several different servers who have worked there over the years and they have all been good, the service is always good when the owner is not there. He’d much rather flip through the TV channels or stare off into his smartphone. It gets uncomfortably hot in there, I can’t remember the last time they had the A/C on. One time a couple weeks ago, I walked in and sat down, and almost immediately got up and left because the heat was unbearable. Very long review and I could go on, but I am tired of spewing negativity. In short; if you are in the area and want phở, drive a little more than a mile north on 2nd(the same street) and go to P2 phở. Better flavor, better service, better portions, better prices, and you won’t have a heat stroke.

This was our first visit. The lady who was working was behind the coumter and we wanted to eat there but didnt know if we seat ourselves or just wait for someone. As I approach she asked if we were dining in and I said yes. But did not hand us menus or say, «Please sit down,» nothing. So I asked for a menu and she said to sit anywhere. Not sure about how they take orders I walked back up to the counter and before I said anything she told me to go sit down and they would come take our order. Then a young man came and took our order and he was very courteous. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls which were perfect. Phở regular size and it was not to hot. Perfect also had the extra sprouts and garnishes. My guest had a Dr. Pepper in a can and they gave her a glass with ice. I had a lemonade. At the tables they had sauces and napkins, chopsticks and even forks and spoons.

I love phở and this is the closest restaurant to my home. For a couple months, i was ordering to go(because they never have the AC on!) several times a week. Don’t bother asking for special orders because the manager will not budge and could care less about your business. ZERO customer service skills from this horribly unpleasant man! The younger male and female who work there are lovely, but they can’t make changes or they get in trouble. After spending a LOT of money there, with no customer appreciation, I took my business elsewhere. P2 Phở is the place to go! The broth is amazing! And so is the service! Now i give them all my money, because they APPRECIATE my business. Phở SuperJerk needs to treat people better. With these Unilocal reviews, he won’t last long…

This place has great tasting charboiled beef phở. Although once I ordered the charboiled beef phở, and the meat came raw So I called them, and they gave me a free phở the next time I went! They used to have a regular and large size cups for phở(since I always take it to go) but the changed that to only having the large bowl. Their prices for phở are a little overpriced now too

I came here because it was the closest phở store there is near my cardiologist. It’s a small restaurant… although I came when it wasn’t as crowded. Food was great and quick.

We started coming here and now with them raising the prices we won’t be back, they have one young girl doing everything!!! We go around 7⁄8 She’s really sweet but they need to hire more ppl FOH and BOH. The forks and knives being on the table all turn around a really freaks me out bc anyone can touch them. Food was ok most of the time…

I have no idea what people here are talking about them having bad service. I go there usually a couple of times a month and the people that run the business are a family. A very sweet and humble family at that. They serve me my Phở’ no more than 3 – 4 minutes after I order it. Everything is fresh as can be. The broth is delicious, the additions, the basil and bean sprouts are fresh and crisp. I always get the«super-big bowl» and have plenty to bring leftovers home. I have been to manyyyyy Phở’ places around San diego and this is definitely one of my favorites. I am glad it’s close by! People are usually nice when you are. Maybe that’s the problem with the bad reviews.

This place used to be super yummy 4 years ago but now they have taken a turn for the worst. The service is poor, food isn’t good anymore and over priced. When you complain about getting the wrong order they don’t take responsibility. There’s a better place in Santee called Phở Că Dao, where food is served under 15 minutes and they’re menu has almost 3 times more of the variety to choose from compared to this place.

This place was Ok considering there aren’t many Phở places servicing his area so they have to cater to the demographic. The noodle was cooked correctly and the meat tender. The broth can be improved. At these prices I would rather eat here them chained fast food joints.

Under staffed for the lunch hour! Tried this place twice– walked out the first time after waiting 20 minutes for someone to take my order. Went back bc I believe in 2nd chances. Took my whole lunch hour to end up boxing my Phở– before I could try it. Be prepared to wait, wait and wait. I won’t be going back. They need to hire some staff They need to hire some staff They need to hire some staff

I’ve been here a few times now just because of convenience. Each time I ask myself why did I come back? They are always so slow with their service even when there is no one there. The food is okay but I definitely have had better.

The food is pretty good. We love this phở place. The only bad aspect is the service. We don’t get greeted. If you’re a first time costumer it might be awkward since they don’t approach you with the menu and direct you to your table. A plus about this place is that they have pickup.

When we finally got our phở, it was pretty good, but it took a LONGTIME for us to get our food. Most phở places get it in front of you within 5 minutes after you order it. We ordered, and it took about 10 minutes just to get our Vietnamese iced coffees, and maybe another 20 minutes for our phở to arrive. I think we’ll try some other options before we come back here.

Nothing bad about the place, it’s just that it’s like pretty much every other Vietnamese restaurant here. Same food, same taste. I was in El Cajon and wanted Vietnamese food, so here I went. What else can I say?

My friend introduced me to this place, its my first time here and I really like it. Available parking. Nice and fast service. Place looks very clean. Food tasted really good. The price was very reasonable and the food portion was more than enough to fill me up. I ordered the Combination platter with shrimp and beef #27 on the menue for $ 7.99. Tip for non Unilocalers: you get a free bkack or green tea whith any entry when you check in their.

I love phở very much. It is not just a bowl of soup to me. It carries a sense of culture and the Vietnamese tradition that I have learned to experience over the years. That being said, I ordered the phở with chicken and I couldn’t believe the taste. The broth was so bland and sour. The chicken was dry, which surprises me since it is soup. And the noodles were stuck together. It is as if the phở didn’t have a soul. I definitely won’t come back here again. There are so many other places for phở.
