Le Prince Salon and Day Spa

Amir has been doing hair for me and my family for the passed four years. He’s amazing. His work with mens hair is simply put phenomenal.
He does black hair. Yessss! My father will not let anyone but Amir touch his ‘fro.
If you need your hair dyed, fried, or laid to the side, he’s your man.
My close friends and family have had so many services from this salon such as: Brazilian Blowouts, Keratin Striaghteners, Men’s/Women’s haircut/​style, deep conditioning, Coloring – you name it AND we have been MORE THAN HAPPY with ALL SERVICES… so much so, we make the trek our east to Rancho San Diego all the way from La Jolla.
Amir is amazing! Also, when you enter the salon, you immediately feel like family, whether it’s your first or fortieth visit. We love Le Prince!

I’m very disappointed with my experience yesterday, I went in to get my hair straightened, I was quoted thirty dollars the day before over the phone. My appointment was at noon with Jako and she was about 20 mins late in taking me. When I went to pay the male who rung me up said forty five dollars! I told him what he quoted me the day before and he said he thought I needed a haircut! ! All she did was blow dry and flat iron my hair. He asked Jako (in another language) something, he then brought it down to 30, so I hand him my card and he says its going to be 40, thats with tip (I tipped five dollars). I left there angry. And to top it off my hair was poofy within 30 minutes. I will never be going back. 40 bucks for a crappy flat iron basically!!! Also she styled it with some sort of tease effect so it was super knotted and I couldn’t even comb it thru.

Best salon Ive ever been to. from everything, friendly people works there, reasonable prices, Best quality. i’ve been going there for 5 to 6 years very happy with amir & JAKO.

Honestly, this was one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had. After the haircut, my bangs were super crooked and my layers were beyond unruly. Actually, I had to go home and fix it myself. The pictures I posted on here are of my hair about a week and a half after I received the haircut. Now, I’m not really all that crucial about how my hair ends up since it’s long and has great texture once I flat iron it. After this haircut, however, I ended up with hair that was about 4 inches shorter than I had asked for it to be. I had simply asked for a short trim just to fix up my dead ends but in the end it turned out to be about 5 inches shorter than I actually wanted to be including the 1 inch that I had asked to be trimmed. The girl that cut my hair had an odd technique. I couldn’t quite explain it and have never seen another hairstyles do the same thing before. I expressed that I was not very happy with the haircut in general but I was afraid she would cut more off and I really didn’t want that. Will I return to this salon? Hells no! Don’t go there unless you want to walk out with a bad haircut. I would rather go to fantastic Sam’s or the haircut store any day.

I had a wedding to go to Amir and his wonderful staff took care of my wife and two daughters which one was the flower girl. They were quick and professional, at the wedding they got nothing but compliments throughout the night these guys are above the rest and do a great job working around your budget I will only bring my family here its close convenient and well worth the wonderful service and quality! !!!

Came in here twice to get my eyebrows threaded by Sella. She is the best! And she is always friendly and takes her time doing a wonderful job.

I left this place because LUPITA left. She’s now in El Cajon @ Beauty by Lupita.
The people here were rude and treated me like an outsider because I was the only not Caldean person in there. Really felt the cultural stereo type which is a shame because I know plenty of caldean people who are not that way. If it weren’t for Lupita I would have never gone in there. I’m glad to still have her services in El Cajon!

While the end result of my haircut was acceptable, you need to watch out for all of the extra costs. They advertise a $ 15 hair cut for new clients. I made the mistake of not asking the costs for additional services (such as the shampoo, blow-​dry /​style).
The shampooing was an additional $ 5 (okay, I get that). When the stylist asked if I wanted my hair blow dried I said a little was fine but I was going to go home to walk the dog then go to bed so I just needed it dried a bit. I don’t know if it was a communication gap or what but she dried my hair and styled it slightly. My style is nothing complex, straight w/​sides angles. That blow dry /​style session was an additional $ 25! Glad I didn’t bother to wash my hair the next morning before going to work!
I called the salon today for clarification of the cost. While they were nice and offered t «make it right» I would not feel comfortable going in again — do not want to be viewed as being critical but wanted to share the tip to really delve into the extra costs that add up.

Ok, I read Unilocal reviews all the time, but have never written a one. But I had to for Le Prince Salon!!! FIRST REVIEW EVER!!! Because they were so awesome there! Amir! He is amazing!!! Friendly, professional, and does AMAZING work! I just moved to San Diego and took a chance on the good reviews and try it out, and so happy I did. I had my hair done, up in Northern Cali and the guy jacked it up. It was ombré, but the bottom half was an ugly bronzy color and it was terribly blended. AMIR FIXED IT FOR ME!!! My hair looks amazing now! I have a natural dark brown on top, and now the bottom ombré is this pretty, natural dark carmel brown color and perfectly blended. I LOVE IT! THANK YOU AMIR!!!

Lupita is the most amazing esthetician I’ve ever worked with. She’s amazing, talented, professional and reasonably priced. I won’t have my eyebrows done anywhere else.

Surrena Lovell is the most skilled acupuncturist I’ve ever met. She’s experienced in a variety of complementary health practices, including acupuncture, Chinese medicine, & Ayurveda. She was able to cure a chronic condition I’d endured for years in just TWO quick treatments, and prescribed a dietary regimen based on my own unique constitution. Super friendly & thoroughly professional. Give her a try!

This review is for Surrena Lovelle, Acupuncturist and Massage Therapist of Le Prince Salon and Day Spa. Recently I was in desperate need of a truly therapeutic massage to relieve tension and stress. I’ve had quite a few massages in my life but Surrena was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST by far! I found out she’s been a massage therapist for over 13 years and I could tell. From beginning to end she put compassion and skill into my treatment. I went in feeling anxious, stressed, irritable and I left feeling like jello. I had a 90 minute massage and it was so wonderful. She used a nice warming, scented oil that she explained the properties of during the treatment. She worked out all my knots, used other techniques (maybe energetically because I felt myself calming down too) and at the end used a hot towel to rub my back and legs. I want to go back NOW but I work alot. Anyway, from here on out she’s my massage therapist and I’m thrilled to find her!

Never thought I would be writing a review for a hair salon. After 20 years in the Navy and very short hair cuts I jumped around trying to find someone who could actually cut hair decent. My wife suggested I try Amir at Le Prince. Amir is not only a nice guy but he is an excellent hair stylist. I would have said barber since that is what I grew up with, but he is a professional and has skills far above your corner barber. He always gives me exactly what I want. He gives me the professional look I need for work and a good style so I look good outside of work. After 5 years of him cutting my hair I have never had a bad experience.

Just walked in today to inquire about cut/​style/​highlights since Le Prince’s rating on Unilocal is strong – , and ended up coming back to have Nicole to do the service. She was so cute and friendly. I brought in a picture and gave her an idea of what I wanted. She did exactly what I wanted– my hair looks healthy– well-​styled, and I love the face framing highlights. Everything took about 2 hrs (including style)– and I couldn’t be more happy! Great job Nicole– I’ll be back in 2 – 3 months for more highlights and lowlights :)

I had been looking for a salon who specializes in Hair color in Rancho San Diego. Le Prince was recommended to me by Mr. Cut, a barber shop that my son’s as well as my husband has been going to for many years. I was pleasantly suprised by the expertise and knowlege that Amir possessed. He gave me the best haircut all the while explaining to me what he was doing and how it compliments my face. I went back the following week for a threading procedure and he gave me a complimentary hair oil treatment!!! I am now a loyal customer and will recommend him to my friends and family!!!

So my husband and I started getting our hair cut and did in 2009 and have yet to stop. As soon as our newest addition to the family was old enough, 6 months ago, they have cut his hair twice. First cut by Amir and second by Marina. Both were great with him as he is only a year and a half now.
When we walk into this place it is like walking into our families house. We get offered coffee, tea, water and respect. This place will always be our place to get our haircuts.

So even though my mom’s side is Northern Italian and my dad’s side is French, I somehow ended up with Chaldean hair =)
Most «foo-​foo» hair salons are scared of my thick, dark, wavy/​curly hair but luckily Amir (owner and master hair designer) is a total pro at my hair type. In fact he complimented me on my hair whereas other salons try to tell me how to change or restrain it.
He was absolutely fabulous! Extremely personable, an extremely talented artist, and extremely well qualified to professionally handle all sorts of hair!
Ladies w/​curls, Amir is your man! No need to travel to La Jolla, Rancho has an amazing stylist! Check him out, the prices are very reasonable but the quality you get is totally top-​notch!

I scheduled a facial with Lupita and I can honestly say it was one of the best facials I have ever received. She was gently with my face and concocted an hour long facial that made my face so smooth, soft, and healthy when we were finished. My sister received a facial there and for a good week afterward our skin was still smooth and soft.
My skin is constantly battling between acne and eczema and Lupita was able to address all my problem areas and still keep a moisture balance for my skin. Amazing. I am scheduling another appointment with her for sure.
The offers at this salon are fantastic. Reasonable prices that are worth the drive from North Park area. Come on… Hour long massages for only $ 45? Oh man. It doesn’t get better than this. I will definitely have to try their other services here too.
