Trucks from LA coming down to meet up with trucks from SD? I’m soo there! So there I was… My eyes bigger than my stomach. The only thing holding me back were the lines and the prices. I did a quick walk through and made a rushed decision to grab a lobster roll from Lobsta Truck and a pulled pork sandwich from Ahn Joo. Our method was, each person go to a truck, then meet up, and then eat our food while standing in line for some shave ice. Because the shave ice truck was one of the longest. Lobsta Truck — Lobster roll was pretty good, you can’t go wrong unless you overcook it. The only thing on it was butter! And it’s a small size for $ 12, but if you love lobster then that’s the price you’re willing to pay. Ahn Joo — Pulled pork was topped with red onion and gochujang sauce. It was alright. I don’t know, there was not much to it. It was served with fries covered in gochujang sauce also, which was just okay. Tropical Shave Ice — Thank you for getting«shave» and not«shaved». They ran out of large cups. But I’ll review their ice — it was so fine that it was a step away from being mushy. Maybe I shouldn’t have gotten the condensed milk on top. Kudos for the lihing mui topping. Pros: I love festival atmospheres so it was fun just to get out of the house and have all these trucks all in one place. Cons: The admission price of $ 5. Lots of things had run out. The prices of some were kind of on the expensive side and not really«gourmet» so your«dinner» could really add up. I guess if you used the $ 5 game voucher, it would be okay, but even the line for that was long. Trucks are bringing business to Boomer’s — I don’t know how much they were charged for the event, but it should’ve been free for them and the patrons.
