Five stars, no doubt! I have had great experiences at this shop, wishing I knew they existed years ago. I often do my own car work. However, when I am not able to do something, this is my first shop of choice. I am always charged fairly, not price gouged like the other shops. The guys at this shop are honest and kind. They really care about their customers. It is the old time small town values (treat people as if you would like to be treated) that makes this a gem of Edwardsville. I highly, highly recommend this shop service.

Reliable service. My family has been going here for car repair for years. They will call with an estimate before starting on more expensive repairs. They’ve always been professional and understanding.

Stopped for gas and ice only to be yelled at by (possibly the owner) for knocking a bag of ice on the concrete. This station was flagged for price gauging during the 9 – 11 debacle. First negative review I have written. Hope this helps.

So I’ve had a lot of cars in my time (40+) so I’ve had to deal with a lot of issues. Some I could do myself but I’d rather let professionals do it. That being said I have been to a lot of repair shops. My most recent vehicle purchase was a used Ford SVT. The previous owner had all the work done at Ron Shell. The vehicle was due for some routine maintenance which I took to Ron Shell. On the drive up there my «check gas cap» light came on. Mark checked the code and was an EVAP leak. He told me it would be wise to get an oem gas cap instead of paying him hourly to figure it out. Not all people would do that. When the light came back on I called him up and he said bring it in and we’ll get it figured out. Turns out it was just a vacuum line under the car that was unplugged. I asked how much I owed him and he tells me he honestly didn’t work on it long enough to charge me anything. WOW! Never in the 17 years I’ve been driving have I ever have I ever felt like a shop was more worried about customer service than making a buck. And this was essentially my first experience with Ron Shell so it’s not like I have a buddy that works their or anything. What I’m getting at is this place is run with integrity and honesty which is very few and far between. I would recommend them to anyone.

BEST SERVICE EVER. I have been taking my car here for two years and I have never had any problems at all. The are extremely kind and reasonably priced. I’m moving to St Louis shortly but will continue to take my car here for any service. If I could give them ten stars I would.

I’ve bought gas here before. Premium is a little higher than other stations but quality gasoline. The car wash isn’t bad for the money either.
I’m going to refrain from giving 1 star just in case everything here is automated. If not, the empolyee shut the pump off on me after I started pumping gas a few minutes after closing… so I left with .07 charged to my debit card and drove to BP.
Yes, I drove up at 6:03 (not knowing 6 was closing time) and another person there said «they might be closed.» I put my debit card in the pump, it took it and authorized it, so I put the nozzle in the car, selected premium and it started to pump… for a few seconds. Then it stopped. Automated or an employee wanting to go home?
