We are new to the area and love downtown Edmonds, however, we will never again give our business to Teri’s Toybox. We visited this store for the second time today, and had the same unfortunate experience we had last time. The staff was snobby(!!!) and unapproachable, they never greeted us and only talked to us when snapping at our children not to touch things or simply acting irritated and uncomfortable by our presence. It was actually shocking that people like that are running a children’s store! I’m sorry but kids should be able to touch things in a toy store. Being rough or breaking things or generally being destructive is one thing, but our children were not doing this, we would not let them behave that way. We did end up making a purchase but I am upset we did because the customer service was so appalling. I couldn’t wait to get out of there, and was made to feel incredibly upset by how we were treated. Never again. I hope the ladies who run this store read this review and take note. In the future, you should treat your customers with warmth, respect, and gratitude that they are supporting your small local business when we can find the exact same merchandise on Amazon for much cheaper. I will take my local shopping elsewhere.

I have fallen in love with this wonderful store. The selection is astounding, abundant and diverse. A magical place to bring and/or shop for a child.

Amazing, friendly people! Two lovely ladies set me up with the perfect gifts for a new born baby girl and a 3 year old boy. They even wrapped up the gifts for me. Both the kids and the parents loved the gifts, and I owe much of that to wonderful customer service at Teri’s Toybox. Thank you!

My husband, kids and I stumbled upon Teri’s Toybox as we explored downtown Edmonds for the first time today. Walking into the store was love at first sight, both for our kids and for my husband and I! Such a great variety of quality toys, not the junk you find at the big box toy store. ;-) Plan Toys, Hape and Janod were among my favorites there. Yes, this is a higher price point toy store, but the quality of most of the toys there is unsurpassed. It definitely seems to cater to the younger crowd although there was a section for older kids as well. I was already planning future visits for birthday gifts, etc in my head. Why am I only giving this store 3 stars? I wish I could do two reviews on this store. I was not at all impressed with the customer service here. We were not approached once the entire time. I did not find it engaging, as another reviewer commented. As my husband and I were looking at the selection and trying to decide on a fun surprise for our kiddos, I hear who I am assuming is the owner, come up to my two year old. She had taken a toy helicopter out of a box to look at(it slid out easily through an open window on the front of the box — nothing was damaged or torn in the process) and instead of approaching *us* about it, the woman took it out of her hands and rambled on to her about how«we don’t take toys out of the box» and«we need to keep them in the box for someone who is going to buy it». Wow. Really? Should we have been keeping a better eye on our daughter? Yes. Did we get distracted by the awesome toys and our mission to surprise our kids with something there, including the toy my daughter was looking at? Yes. Did she make my daughter feel bad to the point of tears? Yes. That was a total buzzkill and because of that we will never set foot in that shop again. Perhaps the owner should consider placing easy-to-handle toys out of reach of little hands if this is such a huge concern for her.

We discovered Teri’s when we lived close by. It is now THE place we come for kid’s toys. This is, by far, the most unique selection in the northern suburbs. Interesting and deeply engaging toys, with a large number that don’t require batteries. A great plus is the thoughtful and engaging staff. They do a great job finding folks who know toys and enjoy kids. Make a point of checking out the collection of high-end collectibles behind the counter. This includes great old-style mechanical toys to Steiff bears.

Locally owned, wonderful toy store. A good selection of award-winning and educational toys as well as the classic, simple toys.

Fantastic little shop of useful, fun, REAL toys. Wooden stuff, creative stuff, interesting games, arts and crafts stuff, and so on. They have a very large selection of the wooden toy brand«Plan Toys». If you can afford them, that is. They don’t have much of the cheap stuff in here, but believe me, it’s better that way. The staff always seems very friendly. Definitely stop in if you find yourself in downtown Edmonds. Grown-ups can play too! It’s not a very big place, but they choose their stock well.
