So, time to update the saga of my review on 12/21/2013. The shop owner and I finally connected on January 7. I went into the Christopher Framing & Gallery and we discussed my lack of satisfaction with my framing project. After initially seeking out a full refund, I later agreed to go ahead with my framing order at a 50% discount. I was told my order would be completed by mid January. Once again the order was completed later than promised. When I went to pick up the order the frames were also the wrong size.(I had asked for the pieces to each be framed so they would be the same height even though each piece was a different size). I took the pieces home with the option of returning and having everything redone. Honestly, I was just so happy to have the posters back and framed that I didn’t want to wait to have the whole order fixed. In the end the pieces looked good(even though they lacked symmetry due to the framing). Instead of redoing all of the pieces we had Michael frame one more piece for free. We picked up the last poster on Feb. 8. Would I go back again? I don’t know… but I do feel compensated.

I used this framing store many times when it was«Autumn’s Framing», she did a great job… one time that comes to mind, she quoted me a week turnaround but called later in the afternoon saying things were done. The prices were great too. However, this is no longer«Autumn’s Framing». Some of her art is still for sale, but that’s the only thing that remains. When I was in today, I saw one person come in to pick up an order that was promised to be ready only to find out that nothing had been done. Then an artist came in to talk to the owner after being strung along on payment for some art that the gallery sold. The staff was helpful, but didn’t know how to deal with the issues or didn’t have authority to deal with the issues. I got the sense a little too that the owner was intentionally out of contact on the last day he was going to be open before Christmas. So, mourn that this isn’t «Autumn’s Framing» anymore and stay away. I get the feeling that this is a sinking ship going down fast. Who knows what happens if they go out of business while they still have your art.

I have had Autumn’s Framing and Gallery do several projects for me. One was after my dog had passed away, it was very important for my wife and I to do something to help celebrate the life of our beloved pet. Autumn was so gracious with us and put a lot of effort into creating a very lovely memorial collage to our outstanding companion. It was a great experience and we are very glad to have this tribute hanging in our house today. Thanks Autumn.

Local, independent, owner-operated, and reasonably priced. These sorts of things always get my attention right off the bat, and Autumn’s can boast all of them. Best of all, she’s really good at what she does. Put it all together and it’s pretty hard to go elsewhere. I’ve brought probably a dozen projects here over the last five years, and she has always delivered every time. It’s the usual business with custom framing; you work out with her what’s best for the piece, based on the choices of mounting, matting, and framing options she has available. Every shop has a few custom frames that others don’t, and her selection is certainly on par with every other frame shop I’ve visited. You’ll get good results here. If you’re open to suggestions or unsure of what exactly you think would complete the piece, Autumn offers wonderful ideas. She’s a trained, working, professional artist outside of her fairly significant experience in mounting art, and she knows how to get the best out of what’s going in the frame. Through the years she’s helped me get several things right for my own walls, as well as handling a couple of gifts for me. In one case, I had a fairly last-minute Christmas gift mailed directly to her shop, and we worked out over the phone how she should proceed with it. It came out perfectly and I picked it up just in time. It was the hit of Christmas morning that year, too. Some of her own work is available for sale in the shop, along with prints of work by other local artists. Autumn’s a very charming and engaging person to work with, and her art reflects those same sensibilities – warm, inviting colors, pleasing subject matter, and enough skill on display to reward you again and again for paying attention. I’ve been after her for years to reprint a piece I saw in here years ago. Maybe one of these days she’ll take me up on that. I’ll certainly keep coming back for framing work either way.

Autumn’s is consistent, reliable, fairly priced, friendly, and local! Oh, and across the street from the new photography studio, which makes it an easy choice for where to get portraits framed.

She did a great job for our painting that we purchased in Bora Bora. After bringing it back on boats, cars, planes, and trains we had a lot financially and emotionally into our art. She delivered. She did a magnificent job, she provides nice hangars and supplies to ensure that the painting stays on the wall and is straight. Great job!
