Lookin Good Day Spa is one of the best full service spas in the area. The staff is friendly, and their services are top notch. I have been going to different nail salons on street corners and strip malls for years, but I finally found my place! The best part is that they have everything from hair and nails to massage and facials. All of the staff members are very welcoming, and always remembers me and asks about my family, friends, etc. Definitely give this place a shot(especially on weekends– they have donuts and munchkins!)

Looking Good Day Spa has been a most welcomed find for myself and my family. I have sensitive skin and hair that I’ve not been kind to over the years so I’m very particular about any place that I interact with. What I appreciate: * The service! Everyone is friendly and helpful. They feel like an extended family and are very accommodating even when I have to bring my kids along for my appointments. I wanted to have something tricky done with my hair and my stylist was concerned that I would damage it so we spoke to the owner. She recommended a different approach and even did it herself for me! * The hours — I have a long commute so appreciate the late evenings and weekend schedule. * Full service — I don’t have time to run around from place to place. I’m very thankful that I can get everything done in one place. Massage, facials, hair & nails. I also get my kids hair cuts here, my daughter’s got a mini mani/pedi and I even convinced the hubby to get a facial. * My team — Tina, Marta, Ken. They all rock! They are honest on what can and can’t work… No BS! * The ambiance — it’s very clean! A deal breaker for me. I also love the smell. Relaxing & soothing. What could be improved: Nothing is perfect. That said, here are my suggestions on what can be done better: * There is someone tending to the phone after hours who is very nice but not efficient. I’ve had to call the next day during business hours to confirm my appointment details. * I stopped by one evening when they were supposed to be open but only the receptionist was there. Since they had no appointments they left early. I should have called but it would be good to have had someone there who could help. That said I recommend this place fully and if there is something you don’t like, talk to them. They’re very open to feedback!

Very disappointed with my pedicure today… Not due to the technician, but when I mentioned that the smell of a permanent was over whelming, the technician was unable to rectify the situation. The receptionist said, oh, no, you’re not taking my candle, it’s my last one… if I want to pay less and go to a hair salon, I would expect this, but with their prices, I expect aroma therapy… not permanent smells… and btw, it was one of their staff getting the permanent. I will not return for those prices I expect Spa like atmosphere.

Had an appointment yesterday for a Swedish massage & upon my arrival I needed to wait because the person that was going to attend to me was having lunch… why did I make an appointment? Once I was taken into the treatment room and the massage began I was repeatedly asked about the pillow that was under my legs, then the masseuse(if she really is) stopped & was opening & closing cabinets in search of something. Then when I was asked to turn over, the masseuse was not able to get the face ring in place & stated that she always has a problem with the face ring in this room… how about then not using that room!!! The masseuse used a karate chop style while massaging me and moved my fingers & toes in a circular motion — I’ve NEVER had that done — there was no pressure at all to the massage. In the end I did not feel relaxed more irritated and I was soooo greasy from the oil & I was not given anything to clean it off so I just had to put my clothes on and leave. I will NEVEREVER go there again.

My daughter & I went to Lookin’ Good Day Spa when we were in town for a few days on business. We were thrilled with them in every way. They worked around our schedule and the nail techs were excellent. I love the wooden block they used during the pedicure to elevate my foot. The manicurist gave me tips that made so much sense. The facial my daughter had was tailored to her needs. It was definitely a highlight of our trip.

I’d like to start of by saying that everyone that works there is very friendly and my hair turned out fine. However, I was annoyed by overall experience with this salon. First, I received a call two hours before my scheduled appointment asking me if I could come in earlier even though we confirmed the time the day before. Second, the woman who colored my hair was the owner or someone who I don’t believe was the original stylist which annoyed me. The lady was very sweet though. Lastly, I was charged $ 98 for a single process hair color which was really disappointing considering I never paid that much at nicer salons in NY or LA. It was not the price that irritated me but it was that I wasn’t told the price beforehand and the price on the website states«$ 50 and up» so the stylist should inform the client of the cost beforehand not when they are checking out. I think people could get a better deal elsewhere as a single process is not complicated and should not cost $ 100 dollars.

I went to them originally when they were in their old location and then it was a great place. Now in their new place it doesn’t have that«spa» feel. More of a nail salon type feel. They’re very expensive to say the least and not very professional. The girls at the receptionist desk just gossiped and talked very loudly. We went for a couples massage and were not impressed. First, it’s supposed to have a relaxing feel to it, yet they can’t even offer a relaxing atmosphere. The walls are paper thin and I sat there listening to a washer and dryer banging the whole time. The staff talks very loud and again, paper thin walls. If I’m going to spend almost $ 200 I would like to get my money’s worth. I walked out of there not relaxed and still in a decent amount of neck pain. Won’t be going back.

I’ve been going to Manhattan salons for my hair and nails instead of trying places near my home. About 6 months ago, I went to Lookin Good for an emergency pre-interview cut, and what a happy surprise. It’s lovely in a low-key way(my favorite ambience), the people are friendly and remember me from visit to visit… and Renata can work wonders with my too-fine hair without gooing me up with mousse and gel. Scott does beautiful nail work, too. This is now my salon for everything. The prices are certainly fine compared to Manhattan prices, and the quality is at least as high as I’ve experienced in the city. If you have a shower or hen party coming up, ask them to show you their private meeting room. Actually, ask for a tour of the whole place. The photos on their website are too small to do the rooms justice. Also, check out the bags and jewelry they have for sale in the front of the salon.

Clean and great service. My facial went great. Very professional staff. I was informed of every product that was being used on me and was very glad to hear that the use a lot of organic products. They also have an organic hair color alternative. I was even able to buy the facial products used on me so continue my treatment at home.

I haven’t been here in over a year and I don’t plan on going back. the last time I went to get a micro derm the lady was running late. after waiting about 15 mins, I asked the front desk girl what was going on and she seemed annoyed that I asked her. the lady that did my microderm didn’t even apologize for being late. 15 mins is not a big deal bit have some courtesy. the staff here needs an attitude adjustment.

I’m puzzled why this place gets bad reviews. I’m a semi-regular and admit that the spa enviroment is a little short on «zen,» but they do awesome manis & take their time on your pedicure. Renata has THE best wax technique, and I’ve been to far more expensive places that can’t compare. The entire place is kept spotlessly clean and beware the tempting goodies on the weekends! Definitely give this place a try…

I’ve been going to this spa since before they relocated to their new RT27 location. Back when they first opened(in the old location) they were excellent. Always very courteous and made you feel pampered. I’m sorry to say this place has seriously gone downhill. While the technicians themselves are good(love Maryanne’s massages) the front desk is horrible. Last year on my birthday while I sat waiting for my appointment I was forced to listen to the girls/women gossip with each other and eat. They never seem to know what’s going on(with the exception of one man, who I think is the manager, and one older woman). It’s such a shame because this really was my go to spa. I just don’t think I can deal with the atmosphere for the prices.

I’m not quite sure why this salon has received poor reviews. I’ve been a client for a few years now. It’s a little pricey(not overly) but worth it. And I’m a gal that regularly mani/pedi/massages/facials so I know my stuff and this is my go-to local place. It’s spotlessly clean with skilled personnel –including Renata who does THE best bikini wax anywhere(thorough, no ingrowns, fast!)

I went here a of couple times when I first moved to Edison. I didn’t think the service was TERRIBLE, but both times I went, they charged me more than the price listed for the service. The first time, I got my hair done(cut/color, etc.) and the woman quoted $ 200, which was fine because I was getting some highlights, so that would require an extra step. The whole process ended up taking nearly 7 hours(because she twice made mistakes by rinsing out the color too soon) and I ended up paying almost 400 dollars for that service… nearly double what I was originally quoted. When I tried to explain that to the owner, she acknowledged that the hairdresser(the same Renata mentioned in the other review) was sometimes«overly optimistic» with her quotes, telling customers that it will cost less than it actually ends up costing. She indicated that this had definitely been something she had been disciplined for in the past, but did not offer to give me any sort of discount to make up for it. On my second visit, I got a wax, and basically the exact same thing happened. They have prices listed(which are already a little pricey), but those seem to be only a jumping off point… So if you go, prepare to spend much more than you originally thought.

The appearance of this spa is nice. The outside is cute, and the inside is fairly large and clean. My girlfriend had the prenatal massage, and she liked it. However, this was her first time at any spa, so she did not have too much to compare it to. I had a $ 40 pedicure. Considering I always get a great pedicure for $ 20, I was expecting my toes to be smothered in gold… lol. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. To the credit of the spa, I think it was this employee who just seemed completely uninterested in working at all. She handled my toes with such indifference, I wasn’t being spoiled at all. So much for the spa day! She was handling my feet like she was disgusted by them, just using her tips of her fingers to gently file my nails… LOL I was so mad! Forgive me, but I did not tip her!!! My cuticles still looked horrible, my feet were not soft, she didn’t even massage my legs, simply applied some cream for 2 seconds. Anyway, I came home, and my mother-in-law thought I didn’t get my feet done at all. My girlfriend had her pedicure done that day too by the same blond, tall, and caucasian woman, and she had the same experience. Oh, I just called the spa, the woman’s name is Renata. You may want to have your pedicure done with someone else… let me know how that goes!
