So I love me some cheap Mexican food, who doesn’t? This is pretty cheap for the quantity that you are getting. We ordered a botana for two and an order of enchiladas for $ 30! Along with all the condiments, tortillas, and sides of rice & beans that comes with the botana, it’s a pretty good price. Sometimes the chips on the botanas are a bit too crispy and don’t have enough cheese. Also the corn tortillas are regular store bought which I think is a total cop-out for a Mexican food joint. The fajitas are really tender, though. I love the chicken fajitas. I recommend their sweet tea, as well. The interior is kind of dingy: the building has been around for a long time. I suggest take out — they have it ready in 15 minutes and you can’t beat that.

3 stars not because of the food, but only due to the prices. We have ALWAYS gone to Taco Olé especially since they were in Weslaco. Now we tend to go to this location as it’s really good food every time. The only issue is that it seems like every month or two they are increasing their prices. A sombrero plate used to be like 9.99 and then 10.99 and now it’s like 13.99. Wayyyyy too expensive. I will continue to go here for breakfast and for the lunch buffet(which also found itself rising in prices!!) but since it’s all you can eat, it’s worth it… especially with beef ribs and chicken fajitas. If you are willing to shell out some cash you will enjoy the food from here. I recommend the breakfast and the lunch buffet. Oh and they give you free ice cream.

The Taco Olé in Mission and Sharyland are way better than this Edinburg location. This place needs a better atmosphere.

Ordered the Huevos Rancheros and they just brought me two over hard eggs with no salsa. Bacon was really crunchy and burned. My friend ordered chilaquiles and the cheese on top looked like Pizza Hut cheese on a pizza. I’m tired of Mexican restaurants serving Mexican food with cheddar cheese! That isn’t Mexican at all. Sweet tea was really good. Taco Olé: please replace your disgusting carpet and clean your filthy restaurant.

Came here for breakfast, never again will I come back. 1) 10 minute+ wait time to be served 2) No utensils were given when the food arrived 3) Diet soda was flat 4) Food order was not correct, so waiting even more 5) Food was cold 6) Wait staff was overwhelmed with other customers I went to pay and the cashier asked me if everything was ok. I said No and she just stared at me with a blank look. I told her everything that was wrong and she proceeded to charge my tab with no apology or in making any effort to correct my bill. Lots of things need to be fixed at this place

11−05−14 Wandered in for the breakfast buffet during the week. Had to make myself NOT go there everyday after! This was a Tuesday, and was pleasantly surprised by the barbacoa since their website says«weekends only.» Several yummy egg scrambles, mushroom, onion, and another. Beside the barbacoa were a two salsas, verde, and traditional red. This brings up one of the things that stops me from giving this a 5-star. Their salsas are not good. It’s like the water from canned tomatoes with some onion and spices thrown in. It’s disappointing that a restaurant putting out such excellent dishes, can’t get a basic tasting good. Their pico almost makes the mark; I ended up having to give it a boost with lime and salt. Note to Taco Olé — Update your website. The info. does not match the offerings, and coupons are dated 2013.

First time diner today. I thought the cheese enchiladas were very good. Not the best I have had but the best I have found in this area so far. Was served a cup of soup as an appetizer and it was great. Reminded me of those great soups we use to eat down in Mexico City. Wasn’t impressed with the hot sauce, it’s just blended too much, no body nor flavor and not pico. The chips were a little over cooked but still eatable. I did take a look at their buffet and it appeared to be quite impressive with many choices available. Will try that on my next visit. The service was very good but this was during an off hour so I don’t have a feel for the service during the busy hours.

Wanted some good Mexican food so a friend recommended I come here. Place look clean and wait service was good as I watched and waited on my Togo order. Ordered the beef and cheese enchiladas and some extra flour tortillas. Food was good but after a few more bites it got more saltier. Either the rice and enchiladas were not mixed well enough or if they over salted… but to the point I just stop eating. I’ll try again to see if it was just my 1st experience juju… but I did like their sweet tea. Had a Tamarindo twist to it… unless the tea was bad in some way. Lol but I’ll try again

I waited 15 mins to get help. Ordered my drinks they came. Guess what WRONG. I don’t know if it’s because I’m whiter then most clients or WTF. The food is ok. But the service, flys and overall atmosphere sucks balls

It takes a lot of nerve for a Valley restaurant to claim they have the best Mexican food in the Valley. Taco Olé claims they do but, really, is this the best? I went for the lunch buffet. The chips were saturated in some kind of oil or grease but the salsa was good. The buffet had little to choose from. When I asked about it, to their credit, they then brought out fresh food. But so many things were just greasy, bland or unappetizing-looking. The service was good though and I enjoyed my free ice cream cone. But for about $ 12, I should have gone somewhere else.

Breakfast joint that is just like grandma’s house. Sunday brunch? You can bet to get the best barbacoa tacos. We order them on flour tortillas, toasted and all the fresh fixings. Best bacon, egg, and cheese tacos this side of the border. Excellent hot sauce that compliments every dish. Price is spot on and keeps me coming back. God bless Taco Olé!

Try the Fried Chicken! Yes this is a Mexican food place & their food is great, BBQ great but this is about the best fried chicken in Edinburg! They don’t skim or slice the pieces into smaller portions like other restaurants, so you may consider sharing.

The food was outstanding… I had the Botana Platter for two and the Fajita Meat was the best… I will go back again!

This place is not as good as it used to be. We keep giving it extra tries and it is just not living up to its name. Botana is usually dry and tonight the meat was very moist but it was too salty to eat.

I’m from Austin. I think we have great Mexican food — when you compare it to other cities. But this is supposedly the best place around here according to the locals. The giant meat plate is great. And the cheese enchiladas are amazing. The enchiladas remind me of Antonio’s in Brownsville. Taco Fiesta was bad. I wish I went to Taco Olé for a second time instead of trying out Taco Fiesta.
