In from out of town, not what I remember. Breadsticks were cold until another batch was made. Soup lacked flavor. Not sure is this is family owned but the workers must have had relatives visiting the restaurant while working; kids and family were walking everywhere talking back and forth to the workers in a space that’s small. Very unprofessional. Wouldn’t return to this location

I was really excited to enjoy a decent lunch from Eddington’s. Sadly I was greatly disappointed. I ordered chicken tortilla chowder and a taco salad: The chowder was as thick as paste and luke warm; the salad had more greens than any topping and the meat was bland. I did receive a bag filled with bread sticks — which really was quite wasteful as it was an order for one, not 12. I had this delivered; the agency who delivered was friendly and that I will use, but I will not be ordering from Eddington’s again.

Eddingtons and I have been involved for more years than I care to admit. It has been a rocky relationship, much like long term relationships are. At first, it was a fling: a casual encounter, a roll in the hay. I was in a hurry to get to work, there was nothing else that sounded good. And quite frankly it hit the spot! But much like these things go, I began to see Eddingtons at an increased frequency. I began to leave the house a little later because I knew I could breeze through the Drive-Thru and grab my soup and bread sticks. And then, the rocky bits came: The rose colored glasses came off, and I began to find problems I had been initially willing to over look: Greasy breadsticks, overly salted soup, lukewarm lettuce and salad dressing, and bland sandwiches. I protested. I knew I could do better. I sought out other sandwich and soup joints. It never lasted. I ran back to my old companion, and fell into the lethargic and uninteresting cycle of complacency. Ok, I’ll quit waxing poetic. Here’s the low down: Eddingtons is a quick serve, pseudo deli that specializes in Sandwiches, Wraps and Soup. On any given day, they have around 9 soup options and a few roving seasonal soups. Cream based, broth based, you name it. They have cups, bowls, and a bottomless bowl that you can refill with any number of unique soups while you eat in the dining area. The sandwich board has the usual cold combinations, and some warm ones. Wraps follow that same formula. But here’s the thing about Eddingtons: It’s one of the only inexpensive options in this area of Edina besides Subway, Cheeta Pizza, the deli at Langs Gas Station and Burger King. They have a drive-thru, which I’ve never waited long in. It’s also incredibly underwhelming. Generally greasy seating area, some knick nacks to give«décor», bland and repetitive food options. I eat here a lot. I get busy, leave a little late for work, want extra time to eat when I get into the office, so I stop at Eddingtons. I have my favorite soup(Wild Rice, even if it IS very thick), sometimes grab a sandwich, and head out the door. So don’t expect much. And don’t eat here often expecting things to get better. But if you’re in a hurry, I believe it will be an OK quick lunch.

They changed the vegetable soup. It use to have barely now it has potato. It’s alright but not as good. Also, the bread sticks were cold and hard. Even when new ones were put out.

This is a terrible location. The staff barely speaks English, they are never friendly. I have stood for 3 – 5 minutes at a time without being acknowledged. The Chicken Wild Rice soup is always made much too thick. They do give me warning about that but if it’s consistently made too thick, then change how it’s made. I waited in the drive thru for 3 minutes before giving up. Once inside, the man just tells me he forgot to put his headset on. Awesome. I have tried four different times here and I am officially done. The bread sticks are also terrible, no matter how«fresh» they are.

I used to really like Eddington’s…How they’ve gone downhill! This location is dirty(all tables dirty, condiment area dirty, dirty dishes filled the bus bins, with no sign of any employees about to clean), the soup is super thick like it’s been sitting there all day, bread sticks are cold and tough, and the employees yell offensive profanities about mothers in Spanish(not knowing their customers speak Spanish well!). Disappointing to see Eddington’s like this.

I used to be a huge fan of Eddington’s, but I think that the quality has gone down terribly! There is a reason that the Minnetonka location is out of business! There is a wide soup variety, but no more than at a Jason’s Deli or a Panara, that offer a lot more than soup and salad. We ordered three different soups, and the creamy soups were so thick, they were like gravy. Super rich and hard to stomach more than a few bites. Its pretty clear that they just reheat the same soups day after day and they just thicken up from age and evaporation. The bread sticks used to be great, but they are pretty average and flavorless now. We left with near full bowls of soup on the table.

No frills soup/sandwich spot. Mildly confusing on where to go/how to order depending on the staff and busyness. The strange footprint of the space doesn’t help. Staff wasn’t exactly the friendliest. I got a cup of chicken tortilla soup and the full baked chicken bacon ranch sandwich. The soup looked rather unappetizing, much more like curry than tortilla soup. It tasted ok, fairly lackluster on ingredients. The sandwich was pretty good but a little small for a full sandwich. With so many other options I would not be particularly excited to go back.

If I could give this place a zero I would. My wife and I came here and it was awful. Soup was cold. Trays were dirty. Sofa machine was out of ice and the staff was rude. I will never return.

My fondness for this place has grown over the years. Nothing beats hot soup and breadsticks on a miserable Minnesota day. We get this delivered via Foodsby to work which is even better! I LOVE the chicken tortilla soup with all the fixings. The guacamole garden wrap is good as well(I recommend skipping the spicy mayo and adding Tabasco for your heart’s sake). My only complaint is it’s a little pricy. My wrap with the delivery is almost $ 9. This doesn’t sound too bad considering some lunch options come in around $ 10 but it is a small wrap with pretty simple ingredients.

12÷12÷13 I have eaten here twice in the last month and I will NEVER, EVER eat here again. For starters, It has to be the rudest staff I have ever encountered. The first time I thought it was just a bad day but it wasn’t any different the second visit. All I did was ask for soup. And now that I have read other reviews, it seems this is pretty normal. It didn’t matter what soup I chose, they were ALL just luke warm. The celery and carrots in the wild rice soup were hard and raw… unacceptable. Plus very bland as were all other soups I selected. Other reviewers rave about the breadsticks… but on both of my visits the bread warmer was NOT working(I am assuming) so the«fresh» breadsticks were cold within minutes which made them just terrible… thieir breadsticks when cold are WORTHLESS. I can only assume the warmer hasn’t worked in quite sometime… How long does it take to make repairs ??? And then… I went to use the restroom but toilet was full of toilet paper and you can imagine what else. To top it off, this place is NOT a good value… way overpriced. PLEASE… spend your money elsewhere, you will be SO glad you did. Craving soup??? Get take-out soup from Byerly’s…much, much tastier, better value and you don’t have to put up with rude people. You WILL be disappointed eating here — guaranteed.

The soups are very good! So if that’s all that matters, go for it in a big way. All homemade daily(I think so anyway), and about 10 varieties in big pots and they all look and smell amazing. However, sandwiches and salads are nothing special, and from what I had, rather mediocre. To be fair, I’ve been there just once and haven’t run through the entire menu board. But I did have a sandwich and a salad with my soup and each was Meh… My first impression when we walked in was: lackluster plain-jane interior completely devoid of decoration; closely crowded cheap tables and chairs; and not the cleanest place due to complete lack of employee oversight in policing the dining area. Not a single staffer came out into the dining area while I was there, maybe 40 minutes, very strange. Plus, you are supposed to bus your own table, a la Wendy’s… No thanks! Finally the restaurant layout is just plain weird and broken up. It felt unpleasant, sterile, and uninviting. A great bowl of soup is not enough to lure me back to this restaurant with all the negatives surrounding my brief encounter. I see there are other Eddington’s in the area; if any Twin Cities Unilocaler wants to chime in on a better location, pop me a message. Edina location, I will pass as there are too many other good spots to try.

Odd layout of the place Ordered half of eddinton sandwich and cup of soup(the special) They looked at me like i was from mars even though the sign was right there showing the special. Made my way thru line, got to the breadsticks. There were a couple in there– grabbed em. They were cold and hard. Went back later and got some new ones– they werent too bad but totally greasy – and i normally dont mind grease. Soup– was decent enough– nothing special. The ½ sanwich semmed to be missing most of meat – it was a sad sandwich indeed. This was the only time i was there– was not impressed

I visited Eddington’s Edina location for the first time on Wednesday evening. A friend and I ordered bowls of soup with breadsticks. Our other friend purchased half of a sandwich and a cup of soup. All went well until she noticed a short hair sticking out of her sandwich. I agreed to take the uneaten sandwich back up to the counter. I assumed that politely explaining the situation and asking for a new sandwich would be a quick and fair solution. Instead, the gentleman spoke to his fellow employee in Spanish and then turned to me and defensively said, «And it’s a brown hair.» Um… okay? He eventually made a new sandwich, but it was sloppy and practically falling off the plate. I was appalled — talk about making an already negative situation even more uncomfortable. I will not be back to Eddington’s anytime soon.

I met a friend here for lunch yesterday and while I’ve been to the downtown location this was my first time in Edina. As I first walked in the décor and layout leaves a lot to be desired! However I was pleasently surprised that even at the lunch rush hour we were still able to find seating reasonable. The worst part of the set up is having to go to the back to order. I do like Eddington’s variety of soup options. I opted for the Chicken Tortilla Chowder which was good and satisfied my want of a warm filling soup. And of course you can not pass up the free breadsticks.

Love the Wisconsin cheese soup! The breadsticks are great! If you’re ordering a sandwich or a wrap be advised that they use a spicy mayo that gives a lil’ kick to all of their sadnwiches/wraps.

Good soup. Outstanding breadsticks. I enjoyed Eddington’s when I worked downtown, and I was pleased to find this location once I was no longer working downtown. When I find myself visiting this part of Edina around the lunch hour, it’s hard for me to pass up the opportunity to stop and deliver some soup to my stomach with their super tasty breadsticks. My favorite soup through the years has been the Wisconsin Cheese soup. I can’t get enough, especially with bread sticks. I barely use the spoon as the breadsticks make an outstanding soup delivery mechanism. Wild Rice soup and Chain Gang Chili are also good. Eddington’s is always considered a special treat for our daughter. We have brought home quarts of soup(Wisconsin Cheese is also her favorite) with breadsticks to enjoy at home on several occasions. The only fault I have been able to identify for this location is that they are a little slow with replenishing the breadstick supply. It seems like almost every time that I get to the breadstick warmer after receiving my soup, it is empty. This is only a minor inconvenience, since it only requires me to sit for a couple minutes after purchasing my soup to wait for new hot breadsticks to come out of the oven.

I’ve been to this place two or three times and it isn’t bad. The«bottomless bowl» of soup option isn’t a bad deal for $ 7.50, especially with the bonus of being able to eat breadsticks to your heart’s delight. The restaurant environment, as others have noted, is bland at best and as-clean-as-your-typical-McDonald’s at best. All in all, if you’re a soup fan, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you try out Eddington’s. You can usually get a coupon at . The basil pinenut soup is fantastic, by the way.
