The only bar I’ve ever been into that won’t play music. If you want to listen to anything other than the TV’s, they make you put money into their jukebox. I asked the bartender about this, and then suggested he give me quarters to put in the jukebox, but he said management would get upset if he did that. It’s not like they wouldn’t get the quarters back. Connect a fucking iphone with Spotify and be done with it. One star for nickel and diming their customers.

Came in on a Tuesday night with my girls thought it would be cool to check this place out since I always drive by on my way to work. Sadly the girl bartender was not personal able at all. All she did was play pool the whole time then when it came time to ask for the check she just shouted out the amount of the Bill to us. When we asked her for a paper receipt she gave us an attitude. Which mind you was a post it note. What kind of place doesn’t give a receipt?! Well drinks weak as hell! #byeFelicia

I came in here with my girlfriends because I always curious to come in. The bartender with the long ponytail was completely unprofessional. She was playing pool with her friends while people at the bar needed drinks and when we asked for the check she shouted out a number. When I asked her for a receipt she handed me a post it note with numbers and dashes on the side. Is this like a normal thing at this bar? That was ridiculous, sorry for the owners. Get a bartender who actually knows how to do her job.

The food here was good, especially the fish and chip! The price was not bad at all. My boyfriend and I love this place. We normally come here on a weekend to see some sports and get some drinks.

Your typical pub. Locals. Yada yada yada. Boyfriend is a regular and I’m usually dragged along. Their wings, from what I can remember back in 2014 were very good. People tend to be nice. They’re closing hours are sporadic. Go figure.

Ick!!! Weird. Kinda racist environment. Burgers and drinks not bad. Just a strange vibe. Will give it a second chance based on food.

It’s a fine little pub… prices are good and a nice break from the commercialized bs that’s edgewater.

It’s your typical neighborhood bar. Good service and decent drinks. Nothing really special inside tho…

Came here with some friends. Bar looks really out dated. Bar is very outdated and very sticky. It looks they have not remodeled it since it opened. The layout is very odd with some tables at the bar one ice machine outside in the bar area and a refrigeratot next to the pool table. What is this. Crowd here is very old and lame. The layout of the tv is really strange. We ordered burgers. They are big size fries where good but burger lack seasoning and the bread was like two days old. The service is very poorand they are rude. They need to update ASAP. This is a bar for bar rescue.

Rusty’s is a little historical gem in a town filled with commercialized or high end restaurants. It isn’t anything fancy but when I’m not in the mood to cook we head on over to Rusty’s, toddler in tow, for some good inexpensive beer and satisfying food. The bartenders and Tommy the cook have always been welcoming and provide excellent service, even when we were bringing our new baby(now toddler) and sitting in the front room. Granted, we always come earlier in the evening and never sit in the bar area, they never once made us feel like our family was unwelcome. They enjoy seeing our daughter grow up and we enjoy meeting our neighbors. Pictures of Edgewater’s history litter the walls and although it’s in need of some updating, it has soul and that’s what we love about it.

Too bad I can’t give 0 stars! I’m so confused by the positive reviews. Must be from people who don’t DRINK! The liquor is so watered down literally and I’m a lightweight! The bartender and staff were so rude when I addressed it! They need to be reported to New Jersey Division of Alcohol and Beverage Control.

This is probably the best little bar that no one has ever heard of. That’s an exaggeration but I say that mainly because every time I mention it, people have no idea what I’m talking about. This place is the exact definition what of the word«Pub» is an abbreviation for. «Public House.» I swear to God I have never gone into Rusty’s without someone saying hello to me. Even if they don’t recall my name, they’ll still remember me from the previous time I was there. Good people. The bar itself is a sports bar and, dare I say, predominantly a Mets and Jets bar. Those are a rarity in the tri-state area, at least, if you are a fan of the Mets. Rest assured that the games are always on and you won’t miss a run, touchdown or buzzer beater in this place. Plenty of TVs and a pool table in the back. Oh! And the best thing about this place besides their extensive beer assortment is their kitchen. For a bar, the food is just a few clicks short of gourmet, in my humble opinion. I always go there hungry so I almost always order a Rusty Burger. *Note: Do not order unless you are famished!* This burger will finish you like a Mortal Kombat fatality! That sounds funny but I’m being dead ass serious! It is awesome! Their wings are pretty fantastic as well and everything is modestly priced so it won’t break your bank. The kitchen closes at 11pm. There’s also a smoking area as well, out back, that you can bring your drinks with should that suit you. Perhaps the only downside is it’s location. There is very little mass transit frequency to and from this bar so, unless you’re driving, a cab ride is in your future. Above all else, like I said, it is a «neighborhood pub» so if you’re looking for bottle service, velvet ropes and/or fancy drink and shot specials, seek your entertainment elsewhere.

It ain’t much to look at, but the beers are cheap… the service is friendly… and they serve up one helluva pastrami melt. Bar has plenty of seating, and there are also tables, but I recommend the bar. There’s also a pool table in back.

I ordered the Rusty burger with bacon and blue cheese cooked medium with onion rings. My girlfriend ordered the sliders with fries cooked medium well. My burger came out medium well and girlfriends sliders came out medium rare… her’s got sent back. Her’s came back it was medium… we, at that point, both settled on the temp. This burger was massive coming in at 12oz, with what had to be four or five strips of bacon on it. I was expecting blue cheese crumbles but they don’t have actual blue cheese they just pour blue cheese dressing on the burger(be advised). The burger has a good grilled flavor but it was not seasoned which is a tragic mistake for such a big patty. All and all so/so. Sliders are also huge at 6oz each. Again not seasoned but good grill flavor. Onion rings beer battered and very good. Fries were tasty; soft on the inside crispy on the out. Also came with a pickle spear which was tasty and a cole slaw that wasn’t. Beer on tap was surprising as it was Brooklyn, Harpoon, Blue Moon and a few other. Typical tap selections for a bar of this type(Bud, Miller, Coors, etc) were bottle only. Bartender comped us a round for the burger temp issue which was a nice gesture. There aren’t many bars like this in this area… it’s a straight up pub serving pub food. Most are trendy restaurants with a bar scene or franchises. Not to mention going to Hobo for a bar is a pain… as such, I’ll probably be back… hopefully they’ll get my temperature right and I’ll have the salt and pepper shakers ready.

I give the restaurant two stars because I wouldn’t try it again. A lot of good reviews for this place but I’m going to go against the crowd here. I really wanted to love it, had high hopes, but upon entering I knew it wasn’t going to be what I had imagined. It’s beyond rustic and original, it’s in need of some major capital improvements. The bathrooms are old and feel dirty. There’s an old refrigerator sitting in the corner of one room, an ice machine in another corner under a tv, and an awkward layout of tv’s. There’s really no good spot to sit to watch the tv’s, and while it’s clearly loved by locals, the locals seem to be a bit loud making it hard to make outsiders feel welcome and comfortable. As for the food, my burger had a nice char on it, look appetizing, but before even finishing my first bite, hamburger juice was pouring out of the bottom and soaking the fries and cole slaw. The fries were well done and crispy which i like, but they’re just frozen crinkle fries that you probably could get at costco. I really liked the cole slaw, I don’t know if it’s homemade but that was good. All in all we could use a good pub /sports bar in the area that’s not posh, but this doesn’t fit the bill. There’s so much potential around here that I think it could be a home run.

I felt a lil out of place walking in. If there was a jukebox playing, I would have expected it to screech to a silence with people at the bar quizzically asking me with their eyes, «You sure you want to be here?» Yeah I want to be here. I haven’t had a great burger in a while and I was sick of overpaying at mass produced burger joints like Shake Shack. This is the real deal. Rusty has hand made burger patties– thick, juicy, and cooked to medium well perfection. We ordered the muffin burgers(I expected sliders– these were 2 handsome«mini» burgers costing about 6 bucks for both), teriyaki burger with a beautifully messy sauce, and a philly cheese steak that I did not try but was reported to be the best eaten in a long time. Latter two were under 10 bucks. No one minded that my parents shared a beer and teriyaki burger– portions are huge. Everything was fantastic and came with fries, which were crisp on the outside and tender in the inside. You know that potato comfort food feeling. We ordered Budweiser(lil above 2 bucks) and Sam Adam’s Summer Ale and Blue Moon(both a lil above 5 bucks) sold by the pint, no pitchers. Beautiful to wash down the burgers. The place mats were really funny ones where you have to find 50 mistakes, ie. goldfish swimming in a lemonade pitcher. Purely aimed for kids, although this is a grown-up joint. It’s a laid back hang-out with great service and fantastic food. We rolled out happy. Can’t ask for more. Could not shut up about going back one day.
