I’ve been here twice. I’ve always found the food to be reliably good, and the service to be reliably slow. My most recent experience here was probably my last. A simple lunch took over two hours.

Great place to have a party. We went for a birthday party and the staff were well prepared and working hard. Everything was very tasty. Lots of unique appetizers. Drinks were readily available, lots of beer and wine. Good music and a very fun atmosphere. Would love to return and just have a quiet dinner there. We will be back.

A large buffet selection of veggies, the cornbread was to die for! I ordered the pork loin– it was a little heavy on the gravy but the meat was delicious!

Delicious lunch! The chicken salad and corn pudding are wonderful. I highly recommend this place for groups or just for out to lunch on a date. The southern cooking and hospitality are awesome. Check out this local gem!

My daughter & I stopped here Sunday… Mother’s Day… they had buffet as their special. Wide selection that would please everyone’s taste buds. Food was well prepared, seasoned as only Southern cooks know how!!! We did not see regular menu, but if buffet reflects their usual fare, this is the place to visit. We had driven down from Chesapeake, had never heard of this local treasure… we do plan to return.

This place is unlike anywhere I’ve ever been. It’s a restaurant/store where they sell odds and ends– much cheaper than most antique/miscellaneous stuff stores. The food was delicious. I got a salad and my friend got the meatloaf sandwich– they were both really good. Everyone was really friendly and we got lunch for two and a pair of earrings for $ 20.

Probably a good thing for them, they are the only place open in Sunday. The food is good enough. But the service needs improvement. They were not overly busy.

Stopped in here while in town for the first time for the Candlelight Christmas tour with my Aunt(born and raised in Edenton) and Uncle last weekend. There aren’t many options in Edenton for dinner so we decided to come here in the hopes I could get something reasonably healthy and they’d have stuff everyone else would like to eat too. We had a large party — with no reservation — about 13 people and they quickly and easily put some tables together to accommodate us. Our waitress was competent — but not very friendly — she basically just seemed harried and annoyed with us for being there and, while she was able to answer questions and get us everything we needed pretty quickly, she was condescending about every question and any request. She talked to people like they were stupid for asking questions about the food and even seemed like she didn’t want to bring items asked for at times. I ordered the pear, swiss and turkey sandwich with a side salad and a side of the veggie of the day, sweet potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the pulled pork with a side of chili and my aunt and uncle both got the smothered chicken plate which looked pretty yummy. My sandwich was pretty underwhelming — I know they were trying to have something different on the menu but the presentation was lacking — it was basically just a turkey sandwich with thin slices of pears and some raspberry vinaigrette. The side salad was good — pretty big and full of goodies for only a $ 2 side. The sweet potato casserole was really good — not the kind with the marshmallows but the kind with brown sugar and cinnamon crunchy topping — YUUMMMMM. My boyfriend’s pulled pork was absolutely delicious — I wish I had ordered that with a side salad and those sweet potatoes. I really liked Edenton, I think my boyfriend and I might try to come back again when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy some of the history a little more and stay at one of the cute B&Bs and if we do, I want more of that pulled pork. The food was good considering the small town and they even had some healthy or veggie options on the menu so I was impressed with that, the waitress had a fairly bad attitude although she was competent, but the cooking seemed homemade so the average for me is a 3.

We were told to try this place out by a local. There were four of us and we all decided to check it out. Its a great location, not too far from downtown Edenton. The atmosphere is nice and it was pretty big inside. We were greater immediately and our waiter was very nice. She gave us some suggestions on regards to their soups and sandwiches. All four of us ended up having half sandwich and half soup. The half soup was a huge bowl, I could have just had that. That’s how big it was. The chili was great and he Brunswick stew was amazing. The sandwiches that we ordered were chicken salad and meatloaf sandwich. Both were great but the soups were really good! Overall good and service was great. If looking for a quick place to eat not too far from downtown, this is a great spot.

I would give it 5 stars but I can’t get fries or chips with a burger. Otherwise their burger is one of the best in town. Just weird getting corn or mashed potatoes with it. Nice staff and fast service. They are open on Sunday for lunch

It would have gotten a 5-star, but the service was incredibly slow, and they ran out of what we ordered and didn’t tell us until 30 minutes after we’d ordered. The food is good — quite good — and we came here to eat on a road trip to Virginia after Unilocaling for a place to eat at our next rest stop. We would come back here again and hope that the delay was out of the norm. While it’s nothing fancy, it’s Cracker Barrel comfort but with that homemade love with a side of humor from the staff.

Great Cuban sandwich and butternut squash casserole! I got some pimento cheese to go and it was great too. Highly recommend!

15+ of us on motorcycles showed up for lunch and they were wonderful! Accommodated a large group, had a great attitude and joked with us. It felt like family. And the food? Wow. It was great. The simplicity of a BLT and they did it very well! All quality ingredients. Try the cole slaw. It’s made on site and delicious. When you can take a commodity item, use quality ingredients you have something special. And it’s a side! Meatloaf is great as well!

We were passing through Edenton and found the Nothin Fancy Café. It is a homey place with a good cook in the kitchen. The décor and menu are really«nothing fancy» but the food was great. The place was bustling and the serving staff hustling. In addition to the usual sandwiches and soups, it has several menu special items which are worth trying. I had the black bean and crab soup, which sounded like a strange combination. Strange but delicious. It was rich and flavorful. I added a mac and cheese side for the perfect lunch. Oh yes, I had a piece of corn bread which was alsdo delicious. We even bought some corn bread to take home. I recommend this café for a lunch stop in Edenton.

What fun this place was! In a three day stay in Edenton, my wife went three times and I went twice. The«décor» is completely funky. Only part of the room is a restaurant. The rest are various booths with all manner of stuff for sale. The staff and management are first rate and warmly, genuinely friendly. And then at the heart of it all is the food. My wife had the pimento cheese grilled sandwich — twice. I usually don’t like pimento cheese but this one was beyond any I had ever tasted. I had Italian sausage and clam soup. Fabulous! For the second meal, I had fried catfish(which I’m partial to being from Louisiana originally). It was excellent. The sweet potato casserole was outstanding. All in all, a wonderful place to eat for a good price. Lots of patrons sharing the experience.

I’ve always loved the baked goods from here that my wife brought me, especially the apple and sweet potato jacks. I was however not overly impressed with their meals on my first visit. The food was OK but not great. Lots of items to choose and plenty of vegetable choices. Maybe I’ll have to try something different if I’m over this way again.

This local restaurant was a great find rather we didn’t have any other choice but to eat here on a Sunday afternoon when everything else is closed in town(we were visiting so didn’t know). We got there at 2 and they were already getting ready to close at 3 but they still let us order. If you ever get a chance to go to this small town, please do not skip this place. They have the best meatloaf, salmon cake(my first time having it), and last but not least Brunswick stew. If you do not get anything else, just get the Brunswick stew. You will not regret it! The service is great. The owner came and chatted with us and she is just wonderful and friendly. Again, please don’t skip this place guys and gals!
