Connexions Gallery

I have witnessed a few top notch free improv sessions, with incredible players, happen in the back of the gallery. Very adventurous programming presented to appreciative and unpretentious audiences. Great place.

Connexions has made it their goal to foster a real art COMMUNITY in the Lehigh Valley, based on support and networking and not pretentious competition. All art inside the gallery is from local artists of various mediums — collage, jewelry, painting, sculpture. The owners were pleased to talk about the gallery, taking us into the back room for a full ‘tour’ (which was also their office area) and into the back garden area, which they went on to explain is «public space» and they invite people to spend time out there. They talked at length and with passion and conviction about various artist organizations and non-​profits in the area, and the cherry on top was the informal, impromptu ‘tour’ of downtown Easton and its various business owners.
After leaving this place, I was excited about the Lehigh Valley again, and it was inspiring to see this proof of a progressive, forward-​thinking community who are proactive in making things happen (instead of complaining about nothing happening). Connexions hosts gallery talks and participates in other events in the downtown area. Go in, make new friends, make art.
