My boyfriend and I go to Cape Cod every summer. Eating at The Local Break our first night has become a tradition. He always gets the House Burger and I always get the Veggie Burger. Delicious! Fries aren’t bad either. Each year there seems to be a new set of servers but they have all been decent. Wait time is about average. It is a bar, so go in expecting it to be crowded, lively, and loud. Fun place! Definitely would recommend it!

Been coming here for a few years now, we tell everyone we can to come check it out. I’ve had numerous menu items and have yet to be disappointed! They change their menu seasonally which I love and the beers on tap are all local which is really cool. Chris the bartender is great and we love the casual atmosphere of this place. You gotta check it out!

Great local year round spot. Burger might just be the best on the Cape. Nice rotating local draft beer selections too. Skip dessert, tho. Fries are a better choice for the extra calories.

cute place, average food and service. called ahead, and were told that a table of five was available and they’d save it for us. when we got there, they didn’t have a table and no one remembered us calling. waited 30 minutes for a table. daughter ordered salmon special, but at 7:30pm, ‘all sold out’. hard to find something i liked on the menu — menu was somewhere between bar fare and confused asian/ethnic cuisine. food was fine, waitress amy was preoccupied, talking the whole meal with her pals at the far end of our communal bar table. had to ask for water, drinks, etc. she was friendly, but not really paying attention to her tables. all-up, it’s an ok restaurant with a nice atmosphere — we might have had an off-night, but food and service was just ok. jw

Surprisingly upscale food in this restaurant/bar hidden around the corner, if not for the small red sign at the road and Waze, we’d have missed it. The shrimp po boy with a side of broccoli salad were quite filling for my man’s hungry man sized appetite. I had the southern fried chicken with bacon mac and cheese and biscuit and gravy. The boneless chicken was crispy, the gravy was brown and tasty, the bacon mac and cheese was delicious. Our server was very friendly and kept my glass full. Classic rock was playing and wasn’t too loud for easy conversation. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food, drinks, and service. We ordered the house burger and the po’ boy, and the sauces were delicious. We went back the next day because we had such a great time! With apps, a sandwich, and drinks, expect to pay around $ 30 a person. Beware: the hot wings are very hot.

I have been to this restaurant twice. Each time there was a minimal wait, but I do have to say we went early each time. Tonight I had the Jerk Salmon, which was on vermicelli with bok choi and coconut milk It was a really nice combo. We had the wings as an appetizer and others had the steak and cheese, flank steak special and kids bacon mac and cheese. The service was friendly and prompt. When you don’t know where to get a good meal, rather than tourist fare, I would say give Local Break a try.

Drinks and burgers were great. Both entrees were bad… very bad. Scallops were super over cooked.

Amazing food, great facilities and lovely waiters and waitresses. I love the location. Never any very long lines. If you need somewhere to eat, go to the Local Break. Good bike parking

I’m sort of envious at all of the other 4 and 5 star reviews. That was the experience I was sure I was in for, but I left so underwhelmed. I ordered the Local Nectar cocktail and it arrived with crushed red pepper flakes floating in it(lots of them.) Something that odd should definitely be mentioned in the menu description. It’s on me for not sending it back I guess, I just really hate doing that. But too much heat can really screw with my stomach, and sure enough the drink delivered on that promise. It was tough to drink– strategically positioning my straw to avoid sucking up a chili flake– and it gave me tummy woes for the rest of the evening. The watermelon salad was really nice and refreshing at first, but once I got to the bottom layer there was an incredibly salty dressing underneath. Delicious but just a bit unbalanced. It ended up overpowering and spoiling the final taste. Unfortunately for me I had also ordered the salmon which ended up being nothing like I expected. I was picturing light fish surrounded by veggies. The menu even mentioned a coconut broth. Instead I got a med-well salmon in a bowl atop a literal soup of rice noodles, some small veggies, and a pure soy-sauce broth. And I mean pure. It was so salty that I was trying to salvage what I could of the meat and veggies while using my fork as a strainer to get the broth off of it. I was super disappointed. Lastly, my husband couldn’t resist a side of the bacon mac n cheese and when it came out we were both kind of bummed. No creaminess, sort of cold and bland. Would have skipped it. I think my husband was happy with the shrimp po boy. I thought the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The cole slaw though, just tasted like raw onion. Again, not terrible, just unbalanced. Let me be clear that my intention is not to bash this place, nor am I a picky eater who just likes to hate on perfectly good food. I love food– to me it’s a hobby(cooking and eating), a love, and kind of a borderline obsession. That’s why I was so disappointed with this visit. For the price, it just didn’t execute and didn’t leave me with a reason to come back. Other reviewers can’t say enough about the house burger so maybe I’d try it one more time for that reason, but next time I’ll be sure to get a glass of wine. No risk of chili flakes there.

The menu is kind of 90’s hotel restaurant. Lots of mousse and zucchini. If your into it, it’s well done. Excellent service and wifi. Lovely casual bar.

The reward for locating Local Break, behind a bike shop, is pretty great. Their«House Burger» is one of the best on the Cape. But they also have a more extensive food and beverage menu that includes a delicious Jerked Turkey over linguine in a light broth. Great casual dining with very friendly servers.

Another birthday celebration with fabulous service and excellent food. House burger, scallops, fresh salad and decadent chocolate mousse cake… we enjoyed it all in a restaurant with a comfy vibe. So great to have a place in Eastham that is always a sure bet!

Went with a group of 6. Was able to get right in at dinner time. We all had the burgers. The house Burger was excellent. Had the garlic buffalo wings and the blue cheese buffalo wings as an app. They were delish. Waitress was very friendly. Great atmosphere. Had a dark n stormy for a cocktail. Very stiff! Family loved the place.

Local pub food. There were many items on the menu that seemed like really great ideas, but they didn’t come through with the quality I expected. Burger came out verrrrry rare, almost cold in the middle. When I realized how rare it was, I got kinda grossed out. Probably will not return.

Bartender was basically a huge dick — looked more than annoyed that we were the first people to walk in 20 minutes after they opened. Discouraged us from buying their speciality drinks basically so he didn’t have to make them… Didn’t make eye contact, acted as if we were an inconvenience for ordering food, we had to flag him down for refills even though he was within 3 feet of us at all times. Food was decent. Just when we thought our bartender was an ass — another one approached us to say we needed to «stop the cussing»… At a bar… Yeah…

Limited modern«pub» style menu, BUT what they do offer is great! On our most recent visit, we ordered a few of the the House Burgers, which consists of their own delicious and well seasoned blend of ground short rib and chuck, caramelized onions, cheddar, pickled relish, lettuce, tomato, and bacon mayo. The bacon mayo in itself, is enough reason to dine here! $ 15 each, and served with a choice of side(we like the fries and homemade pasta salad). Well worth the money to say the least, and probably one of the best burgers within a 50+ mile radius. It’s obvious without a doubt that these people care about the food they put out. Thumbs up!
