What a fun throw-back dinner. The«swamp water» scared me but once I realized it was just rootbeer with lime I really enjoyed it. Not may drive-in restaurants left anymore so a great little jaunt for dinner out!

Love their chicken! Best in town! Hands down the best! Also great burgers! I would highly recommend Larry’s for a quick meal and best drive in menu in town!

Read great things about the chicken here and had to try them out. I was rather disappointed. The chicken was moist and perfectly fried, but the breading was majorly lacking flavor. My 7 year old said it didn’t taste like anything. I enjoyed the coleslaw, though. Maybe we will try the burgers next time, but I definitely won’t order the chicken here again.

The chicken was juicy and fresh. The service was good. As far as the sauces go, the ranch was very nice and home made and the spicy mustard was delicious. Now, the two things that would be better done, if the fries were a fresh hand cut potato and the batter on the chicken had an option for a spicier batter. All in all, decent chicken.

This place hit the spot after a long hike around the ancient lakes! I had the mixed chicken dinner with extra tartar and my SO had a fish sandwich. The chicken pieces are boneless and they are perfectly fried. These people seriously have their fryer temps and times dialed in. The chicken is juicy and the breading is light and crisp. Same thing with the fish. Perfect amount of breading and cooked exactly right. The fries were too. Crispy and hot and soft on the inside. The only constructive criticisms I would add is a little more salt and pepper in the breading and it would be a grand slam. It’s tasty the way it is but the breading itself has no real spice or flavor to speak of. Which is why they give you dipping sauces I guess. That’s my other CC. I didn’t find the tartar sauce to be all that great. It was mostly mayo. I wish I would have gotten the BBQ and I will next time. Our server was very cute and friendly and very helpful with the menu. 15 bucks without tip for chicken dinner, fish sandwich and a large root beer. Not bad for two people. Overall, a very good from-scratch basket dinner. We will be back.

Love Larry’s! Good food, great service every time! Best place to go on a sunny Valley afternoon. Couldn’t live without Larry’s in the fast food repertoire! It’s fast, delicious food.

came here because of all the good reviews about the chicken. all I have heard about this place is how Larry’s makes the best chicken in town. i disagree. i was bummed. fries are good, but not the best. i probably won’t come back for a very very long time. the staff though was great! very friendly and on top of it. they were checking on us a lot. they probably have the best service I’ve seen though from other places in Wenatchee

Best chicken. Ever. Before this, I was addicted to RedRobin chicken. It was dry, bready, and over seasoned. It sent me thru years of addiction cravings. every time I had to get my fix, I’d be there. Then I discovered Larry’s. Larry’s helped me rehabilitate from my dry chicken usage. They let me see the light, they let me see how life needs to be lived with great white-meat chicken. You are probably rolling your eyes saying, «my chicken habits, ha! I’ve got it under control!» Well, think about your life, think about your choices. Larry’s will help. Thank you, Larry’s.

Usually undisputed«Best Chicken in the Valley» but frequently referred to as the«Best Chicken Anywhere,» this tiny land mark at 120 Rock Island Road, East Wenatchee. This little drive-in only restaurant is the jewel of East Wenatchee. From the coleslaw(which I swear is the only coleslaw I’ll eat) to the tarter sauce, Larry’s continues to bring in the customers night after night. Know before you go: 1. You can designate light or dark meat chicken. I prefer the light, my sister prefers dark — just that they customize this is a winner for me. 2. Plan to roll down your windows and eat in your car. It’s part of the experience and always reminds me of my mom being a carhop when she was in high school. It’s part of the experience, go with it. 3. Call your order in ahead of time. Always nice to have your food waiting for you. Although I remember fondly family time sitting in the car at Larry’s making up games to pass the time. 4. This chicken is HOT out of the fryer. I always like to tear mine in two right off the bat to minimize wait to getting that fresh yummy chicken into my mouth. 5. If you can, take cash and tip well. Larry’s is a great employer that has been teaching hard work to the next generation for years. Families have sent multiple teens through Larry’s over the years and this cash goes strait to them, besides, the experience of them making change from the cool little change machines is just fun!

Love their dark meat chicken and fry portions. This is a drive up, eat in your car type of place but it is a good change.

Was sent by friends to try the chicken… think of chicken battered with the old Skipper’s breading… Really awesome! Downside: Very bland. Taste like NO seasoning. Haven’t tried any of the other menu items yet but, I’m going back!

Where do I start? Service: First come frst served. Pretty young ladies who know the business. They know the menu, they pretty much know it all. Most important they do it with a huge smile! Service time: pretty much depends on how busy they are. Ambience/Décor: Old School drive-in complete with window tray and everything!!! Whatcha get: I usually order the 5 piece chicken and fries. Make sure you get extra tartar. Fries appear to be whole cut fresh cut taters. crispy outside, firm tater flesh inside. Definitely one of my favs. No added salt, you need to do that yourself. Chicken is simply fresh chicken goodness, gently wrapped in a simple crispy(never soggy) breading of corn meal and flour. No seasoning to speak of, but it’s chicken… if you want seasoning, then go eat seasoning… dont order glorious chicken. It’s all about the oil… I think. The fries and Yard Bird seem to be devoid of all oil and greasyness. WTF? Is this some sort of dark magic??? We have asked before, but they seem reluctant to divulge such secrets. I have had their fish and chips before as well. Very tasty. Not greasy. Beer battered goodness. Some of the best fish and chips to be had in the Columbia Basin IMHO. Go to Larry’s. :-)

The chicken was cooked perfectly, moist — yet crunchy breading. The breading didn’t really add any flavor, but it also didn’t take anything away. The dipping sauces were okay, not great. BBQ was the best dipping sauce. Tarter was not good — mostly mayo without much flavor. Fries — not good, much better just down a block to McDonalds! Warm sun cooked catsup(yuck) that tasted fomented! CROWDED and VERYBUSY. We decided to sit at a picnic table to enjoy some shade, we brought our own drinks because it is pretty pricey for a family meal! Bottom line, it was worth trying based on the Unilocal reviews, but we won’t be back!

What a cool place. I got the 5 piece chicken and tried both the BBQ sauce and the tartar sauce. Hands down BBQ sauce is way better. The staff here are very prompt and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. First time in my 51 years I recall getting car hop service. Very cool! Give Larry a try I bet you will be glad you did.

Larry’s is one of the best classic drive in’s you’ll find. It still has car hops and trays that hang from the driver’s side window. I use to come here when I was a kid. Now that I live in Seattle, I don’t get here as often as I like. But, we always make a stop when visiting my family in town or heading to Lake Chelan. My favorite is the chicken strips and fries. Note: Unilocal’s map shows this inaccurately in Rock Island. It is actually in East Wenatchee just 2 blocks south of Grant road not far from the mall.

Best drive-in in the west; ok, not an In & Out but darn good and totally consistent over the years. This is the only place I eat tartar sauce and the dill flavor is tops!!! The car-hops are always excellent, respectful, and accommodating. We have eaten here, off and on, for 16 years. As long as we live in the area, we will continue to do so. Though Larry is gone, his legacy lives on…

I’m a big fan of Larry’s Chicken! My regular order is the 5 piece dark chicken dinner with fries… a large tartar sauce and small bbq sauce… what a delicious combo! The chicken is always moist and tender and I always have left overs! They also make a drink called swamp water, it’s an interesting combo, it’s a root beer mixture of sorts, sounds weird, but actually tastes pretty good! The only draw back I have would be the hours, it’s hard to know when they are open without driving by or calling ahead of time. They are open seasonally as well. There is an outdoor seating area, but mainly the food can be ordered To-Go, or eaten in your car with the old style tray that hangs off your driver side window.

You want a trip down Drive in Lane then steer clear of the newbies like Sonic and there poor reproduction of the past and go for the Real Deal Larry’s The Chicken is ALWAYS suburb. It is lightly breaded and deep fried just right never overly greasy or over cooked. I have tried the burgers and they are good but not the chicken. Then only reason I do not give this place 5 stars would be the fish. It does not live up to the rest of the menu. Eat there for that drive in experience or phone ahead and pick up your order. BTW they now take CC
