BALANCE ACUPUNCTURE CTR

I have been seeing Laura and Ric since they started their business decades ago. They are both local, regional and national experts in the field of acupuncture, nutrition and Chinese medicine. I’ve watched them grow Balance into a full service clinic that includes a wide array of alternative medical treatments and consultations healing virtually any and all ailments, endorsed by medical practitioners in all areas of both Western and Chinese medicine. Laura and Ric live their beliefs and practice the types of lifestyles and healing behaviors they teach. They know acupuncture inside and out and are extremely realistic about the expectations of and benefits from treatment. They treat the whole person– body, mind and soul and never forgo an opportunity to educate a person on how to heal themselves and improve their health naturally and uninvasively. Aside from their vast knowledge of the field of acupuncture and alternative medicine, they are genuinely loving, honest and empathetic people who are constantly seeking ways to reach out to our community to make them healthier and better educated in healing their bodies (and souls).

Amazing place amazing people. I did my research as I am in from out of town and was recommended Balance by several family members. I had shoulder surgery recently and need to be treated while out of town. This review is short because I have one arm as my other is in a sling but feeling much better! Thank you guys!

I have been a patient of Ric and Lauras since I was about 11 years old. I am 28 now. I can’t begin to express my gratitude toward everything they have done for me. Ric is the reason I am also an acupuncturist today. He treated me after I broke my leg playing college football and it led me to also purse a career in acupuncture. I studied under him during my time in Acupuncture school and have learned more than I ever could in a class room. He is one of the most energetic, sensitive, passionate health care practitioners I’ve ever met. Balance is a staple in the East Rochester community and we are lucky to have both Ric and Laura serving our community.

I went to this service at the recommendation of an acquaintance. I was seeking treatment for spider veins on my legs. After having a consultation with the acupuncturist, I was given certain assurances regarding the procedure and results. I am in the legal industry and am also a writer, so I am always very clear about my questions and the answers I get. Before and after the procedure, I was clearly told by the acupuncturist that I would see results in the veins he worked on. I was also told each vein would be treated individually and at no time was I told each vein would require multiple treatments. In fact, I was originality told all veins would be treated in one session. It was during the initial session that I was told he would only treat some veins and another session would take care of the rest of the veins. In other words, first he told me all veins would be taken care of in one session. Then at that first session, he told me I would need another session to handle the rest of the veins. I was told he recommended three to four sessions in total but just as follow-​ups. There was never any mention to me that each vein would be treated multiple times at the different sessions. Also, I was clearly told that I would see results after 24 hours. After four days there are still no results whatsoever! In fact, I am left with small red marks where my skin was punctured. These marks are getting lighter, but they have been painful. My position is that the information I was given was completely misleading. When I called the center with my concerns, I was told I must have completely misunderstood what I was told regarding results and treatment requirements. I was told by the co-​owner that each vein would require multiple treatments. This is NOT what I was told at the consultation nor at my session. I requested a refund but was denied. My additional position is that they did not render services provided through the ORAL contract.

I consider Ric and Laura to be among the most gifted and compassionate healers I have ever known. Balance is a really unique place, and it was a real blessing to find them.
