WARNING: If you are a fan of over sugared, burnt, bland, and watered down chain coffee, this store if not for you. However, if you enjoy a bold, fresh taste– stop by. This store has been my port in the storm for a while, but I’ve yet to write a review. Shame on me. Where to start, where to start… I guess the coffee itself would be the most logical place to. Bold. Strong. Fair trade. Organically grown. In some inner city Providence locations you’d expect this to run you $ 4+. here you can enjoy a cup for under $ 2.50 In addition to the coffee menu(flavor shots, specialty drinks, and tea also available) they have partnered with Le Creperie to serve a variety of crepes. If crepes aren’t your thing, they also have bagels and other delicious little treats to satisfy rumblies in the tumblies. The walls are adorned with local art(the exhibits change over time) that you can purchase. Ontop of the local art, they also have live music occasionally. They have outdoor tables and chairs, and even though the view is a parking lot, you can cross the street and take a seat on one of the few benches overlooking Willett Pond. My favorite part though? They have a revolving community bookshelf. Borrow a book, leave a book. Who doesn’t want to enjoy a great book with a great cup of coffee? If books are too much for you, they carry all the local papers and fliers to keep you up to speed with RI happenings. The ONLY reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because they close at 6(unless there’s a live act). I enjoy my late night coffee, but sadly I have to venture elsewhere for that.

East Providence has Great Coffee! Yes! East Providence! Finally a cool coffee café has landed in the East Bay. Roasting their own beans and switching between a few select bean from day to day you won’t be disappointed. My Favorite is the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe brew! PCR also sell’s their beans if you want to brew your own. A great addition to PCR is the relationship with La Creperie. PCR is now creating delicious Creps daily. PCR has now become a place to go to eat and not just a coffee shop.

I happened to be in dire need of some coffee today when I sought out Providence Coffee Roasters. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this coffee really was. Further, the more than accommodating owner was nice enough to make me my very own(free) banana nutella crêpe since he is advertising his upcoming La Creperie with free samples. This was extremely welcome to me at that moment going into a big meeting having eaten not much of anything all day. I landed on a strip mall coffee shop and found a genuinely good home grown place. This is always welcome while traveling outside of home.

It turns out the rumours are true! La Creperie and its delicious, addictive delights, are coming to PCR. We stopped in over the week-end and the cooking apparatus is already behind the counter! The barista told us they’re just waiting on the final permits. Yay! This means I can get my crêpe fix without hunting for parking on Thayer and the surrounding streets, plenty of room to sit, and no stinky Au Bön Pain dumpster!

Tempted to give a higher rating because it’s a coffee stop outside Providence that doesn’t serve Blue Raspberry Coolattas, but my affection remains lukewarm. For a strip mall coffee shop, it’s pleasant enough, and the coffee is decent enough(fair trade), but it doesn’t beckon me to pull up a chair and hang out. The one time I did recently arrange a late afternoon meeting here, we were given the boot with a chilly«I’m locking up.» at 5PM — website says open til 6. Providence Coffee Roasters is also bringing a welcome indie caffeinated presence to the food truck movement. So far I’ve just caught them on the Brown campus.

5 stars because I can get great coffee by the pound or pick up a cup on my way to work. Much like all great things in Riverside, its located in an unassuming little plaza across from Willet Pond. The inside is really cool with great local art hanging on the wall and a great ambiance. I’ve come here with my boss a few times for a quick meeting and ice coffee. Its perfect for that type of thing. If you’re in Barrington and going to the big Seattle chain located in the Center of town, skip it and head 2 miles over to flavor country. The coffee is great.

Staff was very attentive, décor was inviting, great cup of pumpkin coffee. They have put tables and chairs out front for outdoor seating. The parking lot isn’t a great view but it’s nice to have the option to be outside. This would be a nice locale for a first date. Would def come back again.

Pretty much an independent version of Starbucks with a much smaller menu. The décor is all great, but the seats are hard, and the rooms are big and cold-feeling. Not a place I want to sit and work for a while, which is usually the glory of coffee shops. I hate to hate on them, but there was nothing there that made me want to come back. The young girls behind the counter spent most of their time flirting with a couple of cops who came in and the whole scenario kind of creeped me out.
