Steak ‘n Shake

A real disappointment.
I ordered my shake a good 5 minutes before I ordered my burger and I still never got it. «There is a backup on the shakes». But the table of sorority girls who came in after me seemed to have no issue getting their shakes? Yes, it was a young guy serving. Do I really blame him? No. Did I give him my standard 20% tip? Well I think you can guess the answer.
I ordered the original double cheeseburger with everything on it.
The pickle on the burger still had the stem attached.
No big deal, but makes you realize the chef did not care enough to remove the stem when making the burger. Never order food (when you can) when the person preparing it cares nothing about its quality.
And nothing special about the burger, it was a little colder than expected…
The french fries were cold.
Yes, everything had something wrong with it. Ouch.
And the burger and fries came out rather fast so why were they cold?
Summary:
You get better quality food and better service at McDonalds.
Suggestion, go to Red Robins down the road instead. Go anywhere instead.

It is Steak n Shake. The burgers are small. The fries get cold quickly. The shakes are delicious, but deceptively small, and it takes forever. There’s nothing about this franchise that is any different from the 100 other slow Steak n Shakes out there. I’m sure I’ll be hungry again in about 90 minutes. The view of the river though, is pretty nice.

Service sux, and appears to be getting worse! I’ve been here about three times in the past 4 years, and have seen no improvement! No mamagement what ao ever. 45 minutes to get seated, literally just saw 6 different people walk out here due to no srrvice, yet ½ the place is empty, another 30 minutes for someone to come take your drink order, no one at the cash register so that’s another 45 minute wait just to pay and get the jeck outa here! NOT COMING BACK EVER

I wish I did not have to even give one star for this location. Although the food was ok, my lack of stars is due to the service I received as well as the service the older gentleman sitting in the booth next received.
He had ordered long before my being placed at the table, as his drink glass was empty and he was looking around the place (as we all due when we are ready to get out meal).
After ordering coffee it was a long time before we received it and we began looking around as the other man was… haha!
No one ever expects to wait for coffee-​really!!! While have a long amount of time waiting for the coffee I notice the catsup bottle on the table… Yuckie! see picture…
Did I mention that business was slow for the size of the place???
Coffee cups empty with no one in sight once again we wait!!!
All these items are due to the service, I have no other career options for this server but I will say this job at Steak N Shake is not good fit!!!

I love to go here late at night for a snack or a full blown meal. I know steak n shake is a chain, but I’ve never been disappointed by this one. I will keep going as long as I have cravings for milkshakes and shoestring fries.

This location specifically is my favorite! It has been a family tradition every year to come have dinner and a holiday milkshake after the festival of lights. Always request a booth overlooking the river; that’s really what its all about. The food is the same as any Steak ‘n Shake: incredibly average. Please note that their chicken strips are looking more like nuggets these days. The milkshakes are quite special though. The service here is mediocre, always seems a bit slow moving but friendly. I still love it though consider my nostalgic connection; I will be back every year!
