We love this place and appreciate the ladies running it. Not only do they not mind us pulling in with a car full of big dogs and our goofy Spanglish, they understand our gringoness. This used to be my fave coffee joint, which back in the day was run by a local who made divine coffee concoctions. Now rundown, with a speaker that barely works, and a tiny shrine to the Virgin of Guadalupe high on an interior shelf, it’s still EPA all the way — and that’s a compliment. We love their super nachos with carne asada. Generous chunks of avocado too this delicious dish. Also tasty are the tacos and sopes and healthier platters of grilled meat with rice and beans — we haven’t tried anything else. The red salsa is piquante and it’s perfect to drizzle on your meal. They accept credit cards and we try to tip generously.

Ewwww I was so hungry I gobbled up a whole tacos before I realized it was NOT carnitas or carne asada I ordered two carne asada one carnitas got 2TRIPAS and 1 carnitas. I am traumatized that I ate TRIPAS. End of story.

The carne asada tacos(con todo) with slices of avacado are amazing! These are the best carne asada tacos I’ve ever had and I’ve had many many tacos!!! Not sure about the other food because I’ve only had the tacos but I like that they are NOT drenched with crema(sour cream) and guacamole like other places but use fresh avacado. I took a star off because it does has this short, awkward«special» drive thru and it can be hard to get thru. Also, no real seating area if you wanted to eat there so it’s gotta be to go. Even though, great tacos and that’s saying a lot cuz there’s major competition in this area and this place is the winner!

We were shopping at Ikea and got hungry, but the restaurant was closed off for some holiday. So what’s a starving shopper to do? Check Unilocal,of course — and boy are we grateful. Love the drive through — even though it was sketchy at 9:30 pm(two people came up and asked us for money as we waited for our food to come out.) We’ve been back during daylight hours and it wasn’t a problem, so maybe we just got lucky our first time? The food is SOGOOD. We have ordered: — sopes with chicken or carne asada — super nachos with carne asada — tacos(al pastor, carnitas, carne asada) — tamarindo — horchata The food is a little greasy, and the only thing we won’t be ordering again is the nachos(are the nachos?) — the chips are really thick(we think they make their own tortilla chips) and they’re just too greasy. Other than that, no complaints. We will never eat at Ikea again!

I recently tried this place about a week ago after craving a burrito. The location is busy and parking is hard to come by but they have a drive-thru which can accommodate about 3 to 4 cars at time. They have a variety of meats and meals available and great prices compare to other locations. I order the regular carne asada burrito and also 1 pollo asado and 1 carne asada taco with everything. I enjoyed the meal and at a great value. The burrito will fill you up and they stuff the burrito with lots of meat. The wait time for the food may vary on how much you order but I waited about 10 minutes for my meal. I recommend trying this out. Also, the staff were really friendly and sincere.

I can get my burrito on without getting out of my car? A super burrito is only $ 5.50?!? I’m so there! I’ve been living in PA for 3 years and have been searching for a yummy yet wallet-friendly burrito shop like I can get in the East Bay. We always get carne asada super burritos which include rice, beans, onions, cliantro, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. Yes I like lettuce in my burritos for that extra fresh crunch. I ask for the burritos to be mild and get sauce on the side — the green sauce is great. The workers have always been friendly. I plan on trying other things on the menu soon! The only con is the location — only 2 – 3 cars can fit in the driveway and you have to turn from a side street. I’m not sure if I’d be hanging out here after dark either.

Good solid taqueria food. The carne asada tacos and the sopes were delicious. If they ask if you want everything, be wary, because«everything» includes some spicy sauce too! Interesting building which is tiny and oddly shaped. Bad location on the corner and hard to get back on University heading East. Good option if you are tired of McDs across the street.

The location is convenient as it is only across the street from my office. I usually will go for the Carnitas Burrito. Who can say no to some pork goodness?

Amazing. This is my first review, and i was looking for a good taco place before i went to stanford. The food was great, cheap, and authentic. I had the carne asadas and the al pastor, and i couldnt be more delighted. I recomend rhis 100% to any one looking for some great mexican food.

El Jarocho definitely has the best tacos in EPA they are served to you nice and hot bc it is a TACODRIVETHRU. I am as Mexican as it gets and this is really authentic Mexican food. The asada, chorizo, tripas and pastor are good and the sauce is to delicious, their red sauce is the best. and they have THEBESTPASTORNACHOS!!! it is most certainly a great asset to EPA and the people are super nice!

After having a not so successful menudo lunch around the corner, I wandered over here to find the awesome selection of $ 1 tacos. It’s a small traingular building with tacos, tortas, quesadillas and burritos. Not many selections as meats go but they’re solid. The Al Pastor and Tripa tacos rock. There are two tables outside with umbrellas to enjoy the weather while it’s nice. Definitely a great little find.
