Oh my goodness!!! Excellent excellent excellent place to visit for one of the best kabobs I’ve had in a while! Hearing great things about the Persian ice cream but was so full from lunch(extremely hearty portions!) that there was just no room for dessert. Will go back next time for the lamb chops and the Persian ice cream

A true gem. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The service is attentive without being smothering. The décor and music are elegantly understated. But the highlight is the food. Lamb kabob is cooked to order, medium rare is exactly that. The stews are filling and perfectly seasoned. Everything is served piping hot from the kitchen, further evidence of the attention to detail. I should note that they have a special price at lunchtime(all 7 days) that is half of the dinner price, but full portions nonetheless. Their children’s menu goes well beyond the ordinary, rather it is just smaller portions of adult dinners, such as Lamb Chops. Definitely for the epicurean child.

Pretty good food, pretty good service, everyone was friendly and professional, the food was fresh and tasty, basic Mediterranean cuisine. Simple atmosphere. I was not completely blown away but for the price I was most definitely satisfied!

I was craving the barg dish and decided to come here to try it. It wasn’t salty at all and it was seasoned well. The meat was tender and juicy. I ate it with a side of cherry rice. The rice was moist and sweet. We also ordered a side of their shirazi salad. I ordered for one and the salad was huge enough for two. It was very good. My husband had the lamb stew with a side of green rice. The lamb was very tender and not gamey at all. The green rice tasted good but was on the drier side. Both meals were big portions. I could have split the barg with my husband because I couldn’t eat all the meat. I was too full to have dessert. The service was good and the food came out promptly. No complaints.

This place is excellent. One of the best hummus iv had. Also had the steak Kabob which was cooked perfectly and very tender. I have never had cheery rice before and glad I was able to try it here. The beer was served in a frosted glass making it extra enjoyable. Very clean inside and the staff was extremely friendly. Price was very reasonable. This place is a hidden gem

My friend and I had dinner here last night and I have to say we were very impressed. At first i was s little hesitant because we were the only diners but after about 20 minutes the people started coming in. We started with the babagabosh and the Tabouli Salad that were amazing for dinner we ordered the Kubideh Kebab which is beef and lamb and Jujeh kebab with is pieces of delicious cornish hen. Everything was cook perfectly and accompanied by fluffy basmati rice and cherry rice. After dinner we received a free dessert for checking in on Unilocal!!!We tried the Persian Ice Cream that was fabulous. I can’t say enough about the food and service at Sufiya’s Grill except to say we will be back!

This place is worth a visit even from Brooklyn! We were visiting LI for some shopping and decided to drop in for dinner. Glad we did! For starters, the free pita and yogurt sauce they give is delicious We got three appetizers, falafel, babganoush, and spinach pies. ALLREALLYGOOD. For dinner we got lamb with white basmati rice and a Adana Kebob with French fries. Rice was tender and perfect Fries were perfectly crispy The meats were outstanding in flavor and seasoning I really can’t give this place any less than 5 stars. It’s well deserving Even their bar was fantastic. My bf claims it’s the best Long Island iced tea he’s ever had. We were very impressed with quality and quantity and flavor. We locked our plates clean. And the wait service was great and friendly too

The chicken kebab was amazing, the meat was perfectly seasoned ~ and the cherry rice was a beautiful compliment.(My mom actually brought me here specifically FOR the cherry rice!) Attentive(unnervingly good-looking) waitstaff; the restaurant itself was classy, dimly-lit with a very intimate atmosphere. You must bring your date here! All in all I had a great experience and I look forward to coming back~

Good but not great. I know this restaurant was voted best in Long Island but I wasn’t impressed. The service was ok, décor was ok, and the food was ok. Nothing about my dining experience was a wow there. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Came here for dinner before a show at Jones Beach. Service was good and the food was even better. Also I think it’s a great value for the money. Very authentic recipes, good portions and cooked perfectly. I love the chicken kabob and the kobeeda! The samosas were outstanding!!! The kashk badenjaan is just how my grandma used to make it. But my favorite was the Persian ice cream!!! So good!!!

Just back from Sufiya’a and my wife and I were very impressed! The décor was very nice and the place is really the right size. I’m sure on the weekends there is a wait for a table. So we skipped the appetizers and ordered dinner. My wife ordered the grilled salmon with brown rice. She was very pleased. I ordered the baby lamb chops(4), but could only eat three and the white rice. Very good! Both dishes came with sweet onions and roasted tomato on the side. The service was good, they had the huge front window open, the weather was spectacular today. My bill was $ 41. And we had food to take home from both plates! I will definitely be back!

Maybe a year and a half or two years ago a good friend and I walked in here for the first time, and we were asked if we had reservations. I was confused because the dining room was empty. ‘Tonight is belly dancer night, let me see what I can do,’ and he found us a table. After looking over the menu we were read the specials and decided to ignore the menu. We ordered specials. As the dining room was filling up we worked on our bottle of wine and then the show started. I can’t lie, some of the people there were just as entertaining as the dancer, and she was dancing with a sword and a chandelier hat that had lit candles for lights. After eating we walked out of there satisfied with our food and intent on going back. Now fast forward to May of last year when a group of us went for a friend’s birthday. There was no belly dancer, but we had probably the best waiter ever. Everyone on staff we had interactions with was amazing, and they still didn’t come close to how good the food is. Baba ganoush? Never cared for it, then I had it at Sufiya’s Grill. Am I allowed to say to die for? My Cornish hen was great, my rice was good and the Turkish Coffee we had for dessert was phenomenal. All in all it was a great night, and words can’t explain it. You had to be there. Today, I finally made it back with some good friends. The lunch specials are very reasonable and very tasty. I read about the cherry rice, so I ordered it with my scrumptious lamb kebab. When I go back, and I assume this will be soon, I’m going with the salmon. I tried my friend’s today, and that was amazing. Now, to summarize my three trips to Sufiya’s, I will say good food, friendly staff and eat the cherry rice.

Nice little lunch spot in East Meadow. May not be huge inside but you don’t feel cramped or like you’re sitting on top of others. There’s a nice circular table right up front if you have a medium-sized group, as well as several square tables toward the interior & back. Being that we weren’t super-hungry, we skipped ordering any appetizers. They did, however, bring out a small basket of very warm pita triangles served with tahini sauce. My wife and I each had a lunch special. She ordered the Falafel Platter with hummus and white rice and I had the Lamb Shish Kebab with brown rice. Both of our orders were accompanied by grilled veggies(onion, tomato, & green bell pepper). Our son had chicken strips with fries from the Kids’ Menu… go figure. I also got a salad with my meal and it was fine — nothing fancy/special but looked good and tasted fresh. The lamb was juicy and very flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium with just a little pink at the center. The brown rice was fluffy and delicious and they gave you a pretty good portion of it, especially considering it was part of a lunch special. The platters were beautifully plated as well. I enjoyed my meal the most and I thought my wife’s falafel dish was fine as well. We had the Persian Ice Cream with Pistachio to top it all off. The staff were attentive. At the outset, they took a little while to take our order but did come by and apologize and informed that they would be right back to do so. I liked that because we weren’t really annoyed by that point or anything but they seemed to want to please us. There is a banner outside proclaiming that they were voted by Long Islanders as «Best Romantic Dinner on Long Island»(see: ). I’m guessing that would be more appropriate during a dinner service but I can see how they would have won that title. Plenty of parking in the(shared) parking lot on a Sunday afternoon, which we also appreciated.

This place is OK. A group of us came here in the evening and we all thought the food wasn’t that great. I think Choopan has better tasting food. I ordered the chicken kebab platter with cherry rice. If you want more bread of extra sauce, you have to pay extra. I thought the chicken kebabs didn’t have much flavor and I guess I am just not a fan of cherry rice. Portions were reasonable for the price. I have had better kabab platters in Queens so I will not be coming back here. The waiter was nice enough to split our checks by each person though(there were 7 of us).

I love this place. I hadn’t been there in a while and it seems like I keep coming across reviews on Unilocal and it got me in the mood and I decided to get take out. My husband and I discovered them when they first opened, we actually wanted to go to the restaurant it was before and discovered upon arrival that it was now Sufiya’s(I think it’s different owners but same chef and staff from before). We figured we’d give it a shot and the place was empty so we weren’t sure what to expect but we loved our food. We’ve dined in a few times and have brought friends, it’s always a hit! I remember asking the waiter(great wait staff by the way) for recommendations and he told me to try the lamb stew and it was delicious! The kabobs are always really really good, charred on the outside, tender in the middle. Since I am approaching a year of not eating meat, I have tried the Vegetarian Moussaka and today I tried the Falafell Platter with Green Rice and Hummus. We got the appetizer combo and chose Sambuseh, Sigara Borek and Babaganosh. Everything was absolutely amazing!

4.5 Stars Ordered online through EAT24 and left immediately to go pick it up expecting to wait a little while. Surprisingly enough it was already cooked. The waiter told me to follow him to the back bar to checkout. While I was waiting for him to bring the food out I overheard a table call the waiter three separate times for extra napkins, extra rice, etc. I wasn’t there for very long so it seemed a bit excessive but the waiter was very patient and accomodating each time. The décor of the restaurant is inviting and I wouldn’t mind eating here. It’s small and cozy, best for a group of 6 or less. There was some ethnic music playing at a comfortable level and overall it was very quiet. There was only one table being served at the time. The smell that escaped the kitchen as the waiter exited made my mouth water. I ordered the jumbo shrimp kebab lunch special. It came with a side salad and basamati rice. The shrimp was paired with a half of a grilled onion, half grilled tomato, and a slice of lemon in the plate. They provided pita bread on the side. Everything was packaged very well with care. They were sure to include utensils as well. I definitely underestimated the acidity of the dressing. I poured nearly half the container on before tasting it and after a few bites it really hit me. I also tasted some light hints of mint in the salad. The shrimp were a tad overcooked and lacking salt but still delicious. I squirted some lemon on them and then later decided I would dip them in the green sauce. The rice was fantastic. The the green sauce that accompanied the meal was my favorite and it’s not often that I prefer the green sauce over the white sauce. The white sauce was a little on the mild side in terms of flavor. It was however very creamy. The green sauce was a bit tangy at first but you tasted a delayed heat when eating the chunkier parts of it and there was a distinct taste of cilantro which I loved. I wish there was a little more shrimp to this meal but it was a lunch portion so perhaps they provide more than 5 pieces with the dinner portion. I am interested in returning to try the chicken or salmon. Be careful in the parking lot, it is very icy right now!

For my first Persian/Iranian food experience, I’m so glad it was at Sufiya’s. From dining there, it has a predominant Mediterranean feel but with those additional cultural influences. I pass by here frequently, but never noticed this place! The shopping complex is currently renovating their storefronts, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled when driving along. First impression? What a classy, cozy spot. Beautiful paintings/decorations with a spacious feel. Even though I looked at the menu briefly beforehand, I still couldn’t decide on what to eat. Oh, the choices! They have a dinner special(Mon-Thurs) after 3pm for $ 12.95, you can choose from an array of entrees with white or basmati rice. Very reasonable prices here. I ended up on getting the Lamb Shish Kebab which came with Green Rice(seasoned with Saffron and other spices), a grilled tortilla and roasted veggies — onion, peppers, tomatoes. It was fantastic. To be honest, that’s the best lamb I’ve had in a long time. It was seasoned and salted perfectly. And I really enjoyed the grilled veggies… it added a healthy touch to the meal. We also ordered the Falafel appetizer which was very good. Crispy and flavorful. The dusting of paprika and parsley was a nice addition too. The staff were helpful and patient with my questions while I was ordering. And they really made me feel welcome there as a first-timer. I will DEFINITELY be back and I’m looking forward to trying their other menu items! P. S. They have belly-dancing on certain nights. Sounds fun! P. P. S. I was too full that night, BUT if you check-in, you get a free dessert.

The exterior of the restaurant(and all the businesses in this strip mall) is currently being renovated. However, Sufiya’s interior is clean, inviting, and tastefully decorated. My husband and I have eaten there several times, but after getting takeout last night, I finally remembered to write a review. I love Mediterranean food, but my hubby doesn’t really care for it. So, I picked up a falafel sandwich for him – and he said it was the best he’s ever had. Win! I had the babaganoush appetizer, which was smoky and creamy and delicious, followed by the chicken with pita, which was tender and juicy and well-seasoned. My only complaint would be that the yogurt sauce is much thinner than you would expect. Perhaps that is Persian style and I’m just used to a thicker Greek tzatziki sauce.
