Footgear

The owner is incredibly rude. We have purchased 5 pairs of shoes from him and will never return to his store. The previous poster who referred to him as a «jackhole» is spot on. If you enjoy receiving lectures on how horrible everything from China is and judgement on how horrible of a person you are for desiring your shoes to be stylish you might enjoy your experience. I wanted to order a particular pair of shoes from Birkenstock and asked if he had his ordering catalog. He wouldn’t show it to me (he’s shown it to me in the past!) and explained that what he had on the floor was better! I went to Playmakers and they graciously helped me and I ordered through them.
My favorite part of our visit was when he freaked out because my 2 year old touched his box of nylon footies. He said «She is touching my socks.» OMG. The horror. We high tailed it out of there and on our way out the door he asked us why we even bothered coming in. What a joke!

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! The owner of Footgear discriminates against many different types of people. If you want any type of help or to purchase shoes this is NOT THE RIGHT STORE!
We were REFUSED service at this store because we told the owner that we once shopped online. If you have EVER shopped online, do not go to this store. The owner Richard is rude, arrogant, and cruel. I love to support local businesses, but this type of man makes me want to shop online to avoid nasty treatment. I have never been treated so badly in my entire life.

Went to FootGear today to check out the winter boot selection. When I walked in, the guy working there asked if we were looking for anything in particular and I asked if they carried Uggs. Apparently, that was deeply offensive to his taste because he went into a 10 minute rant about why Uggs are worthless because they’re made in China and the real boots from Australia that they carry are far superior. Fine. But even when I TRIED to look at his superior boots, he KEPT lecturing me and saying things like «if you want Uggs you should just go to the mall» and «Uggs are made in China so if you want THAT sort of thing…». He wouldn’t even pause long enough for me to give him my size so I could try on one of his precious boots.
I understand that people have preferences about boots and what constitutes quality. But please… this guy in his Birkenstock sandals and socks in the middle of December was just a condescending jackhole.
